I came upon this play randomly and now have a regular spot for my pedicures. They were friendly and personable, good customer service, love their menu options and the extra ten minute massage by Bob was heavenly. They had quiet calm music playing which I appreciated, the massage chairs were nice, and they offer a complimentary drink of your choice during your service which felt like a very nice touch. I don't often leave bad reviews, but I cannot recommend. Maybe the technician (male) was just inexperienced (I had requested a female but they gave me a male). I ended up with my toes raw and the skin rubbed off. They offered for me to come back in to fix it, but you can't put skin back on toes. I asked for a refund but was refused. since Michele and Phil sold the salon was it has gone downhill fast. I have been have pedicures here for 20 years but today will be my last. I had an appointment at 4:00. Arrived early. Was seated in the pedicure chair at 4:07 and the pedicure was rushed and I was finished at 4:35. I paid $45 for a 28 min pedicure. Unfortunate. Will not go back. read more

The shop was clean and they had many OPI colors including new ones. They also offered me water. Those were the positive things. They had many regulars so I was expecting a positive experience. I walked in at almost 12:30pm on a Thursday and they said that they didn't have an open slot until 2:45pm. The owner asked me to take her card and to call if I changed my mind. I came back for my appointment and picked my colors before sitting at a massage chair and soaking my feet. The back chair massage was good. I didn't care for my pedicure. I felt like she didn't really scrub and my heels so they stayed dry and white. My finger nail polish had bubbles and the second and top coats weren't painted all the way to the edges of my finger nails. You can see lines around the second and top coat so it looks like the polish will peel off. I was not too happy with my $65 manicure and pedicure. read more

Poor customer service. They do not even try to get you in for a manicure or pedicure.

So, this business on Marsh Street (within the Smart & Final grocery store complex) states "walk-ins welcome" but when I did, they weren't welcoming (I blamed it on as a cultural thing). I thought, 'Okay, maybe they are short-staffed or ..... ::shrugs:: I'll give this salon a try because it was packed with customers late in the day.' Anyway, I made an appointment for five (5) days afterwards for a gel manicure. They called two (2) hours before the appointment to confirm my scheduled time. I confirmed and whomever called me was super, SUPER sweet and said they were looking forward to seeing me. I walked in and was treated with nothing but sweetness, respect and kindness. What a great place (minus the CIA-propaganda CNN playing in the background with closed captioning on the TV; background instrumental spa music playing was sweet and appropriate). Loved, LOVED the instrumental-spa music but CNN was abhorrent.) My manicurist could not have been nicer and she did such a fantastic job that I made another appt for another gel job within weeks. Be careful when you go into this place... Look around and make sure there isn't a group of late 50ish unhappy looking ladies hanging out in there. I went in happy, expecting a great experience, and left crying. The owners and services are great, but the clientele are a rude and nasty group of middle aged biddies. They make it their business to shame and humiliate any other customers that might come along and make their wait longer, or take up their favorite chairs. I sat stunned as they had the nerve to gang up on me simply because I answered a call on my cell phone. I covered my mouth but they demanded I hang up immediately. I'm all for being quiet during dinner or group meals. But this was a noisy small salon, with all kinds of clanking and other sounds. I hardly think my short phone call was too loud, especially when I had my mouth and face covered and whispered directly into the phone. The owners felt really bad as tears fell down my face... These three women assaulted and shamed me right there in front of everyone, like a pack... The owners kept apologizing to me but did nothing to stop the rude, mean, and nasty comments. I would never send my friends, my daughter, or any one else I know into a salon with this kind of nasty environment. It was bad enough that I was in pain from a recent shoulder injury, was exhausted from a recent trip to the hospital the night before, and that it was the first time I had seen my sister in months. I was so excited to get a chance to relax in positive energy. I would have gotten a manicure afterwards, but I just wanted to get out of there. I can't imagine if these "ladies" (I use this term lightly because there was nothing classy or dignified about them), had gone into a regular salon with young and professional, 30-something clients. They would have been laughed out the door. Unfortunately, I was too shocked to do so. Thanks, ladies, for ruining my day. I won't be going back. The nail guy who took care of me was very sweet, and kept apologizing for what was happening. Nevertheless, I felt shamed and humiliated. We went in a group of 5 girls on a rainy day this past weekend, and it was great. It's a nice big roomy nail salon with at least 6 pedicure chairs, so we were all able to get our feet done at the same time. The staff were great and everything looked clean. A pedicure is $22 if you pay by credit card, only $20 if you pay cash. It's a couple blocks away from the main part of downtown (next to Scolari's / Rite Aid), but as far as we could tell, it was the only nail salon in/near downtown SLO that could accommodate more than a couple of pedicures at one time. I've gone to this nail salon for a few years. The staff is friendly, especially the husband and wife who own it. After coming just a few times regularly, they knew me on a first name basis. Their acrylic nails are the best looking in town (in my opinion) and stay on for WEEKS! You definitely get your money's worth. The only downfall is that a few of their pedicurists seem to rush...even if it's not very busy. (Although they have never rushed me out while my nails are drying, like a few places have!) My suggestion if you get a pedicure is to make an appointment and ask for Phillip or Michelle (the owners) - they take their time and are very friendly. I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more
