It's always great to have a second option, so I decided to try TL Nails -- and I'm so glad I did! Lynn and Lee were amazing. I went on a Sunday morning, and they had just recently reopened for Sunday hours due to growing demand. I got lucky and was one of the only customers there, so I really got the full pampering experience. Both of them did an excellent job. I had dip powder done on my nails and a regular pedicure. I'm very particular about nail shape, and they absolutely nailed it -- I love the way they turned out (check out the pictures!). I'll definitely be coming back. Whoa!!!! I previously posted a one star review, and the dickhead owner was tacky enough to lash out at me in a response on Yelp lying and saying that none of the things that happened actually happened. ‍ Which was bad enough in and of itself, but on top of that now my review is gone! Big surprise. ‍ These these people (or maybe it's just the a-hole male owner?) are shady shady shady! The woman who did my pedicure didn't even know how to trim nails! It seemed like it was her first day and she had no idea what she was doing. She kept fumbling with what is actually the cuticle nipper and trying to cut my toenails with that (and I have big toenails, so you cannot just use a cuticle trimmer to cut my toenails, especially the big toe) and then someone else kept coming over and speaking to her in Vietnamese obviously telling her she wasn't doing it right and then she would show her and then leave and the lady would still continue trying to fumble doing very basic pedicure stuff that I could actually do at home better than she was doing! And then at the end they demanded cash and there were no other options given, so I had to walk across the parking lot in the little temporary flip-flops to go to an ATM and of course pay a non Wells Fargo ATM fee. And they did a shitty job, cut my nails uneven, the paint job was subpar (big gaps on the sides), and it literally started chipping the same day, and I was not being rough with my nails. This is a horrible nail salon! I can't believe that they deleted my previous review. SHADY AF. I was very disappointed with my experience at TL nails and spa. I went in to get a full set of acrylic and a small design which we didn't end up doing. I don't blame my tech at all for not being able to do the design but the nails themself are crooked and don't look right. My nail tech said her name was Kim and she was somewhat nice but very consistently rushed and frustrated with any issues (design not working out or shaping being off). I just ended up being quite disappointed with the results and rushed out with $80 less in my pocket. I would've really loved to enjoy this place but sadly I would not recommend. read more

Prices are steep compared to the Bay area. I was able to message and book via Yelp rather quickly. I paid a total of $104 for solid dip powder nails and a regular pedicure. For that price, I would expect free refreshments and a little more of a posh environment. The ladies who did the services for me were nice and the area looked well kept and clean: The guy running the place is at the front desk and is not very pleasant. Quick to point to his sign he had upfront of no talking loudly or talking on the phone, neither of which I was doing or intended on doing. During my services he kept pacing in and around the place, which I found odd. I probably would not come back because of the owner and his weird behavior. I put in a project request through Yelp for ombre dip mani and a pedi with callous removal. They immediately responded saying to call to make the appointment. I was on a tight schedule (trying to make a 5 o clock dinner reservation) when I called at 215 but they were able to take me so I was in the chair by 230. Super accommodating! This is a nice salon with a quiet, serene vibe. They even have a sign asking patrons to speak in loft tones, low volume. Snaps The owner greeted me at the door and escorted me to a tech at station 5. The woman who did my nails was very friendly and worked quickly on my mani. She made sure I liked the shape and cut before she went to work. Also this place is super clean. All the cuticle tools etc come in a sealed pouch, so you know there is very little room for infections to spread. Pedi was also great. They have a good selection of colors and brought me the color match for my toes. Great massage chairs for the Pedi. I was exhausted, and before I could close my eyes the owner had started to recline my seat and wish me a 'good night'. Super kind and considerate. Dip with ombre mani was $60 and the Pedi was $45. They prefer cash. And you have to tip cash. Luckily there's a bank across the parking lot which makes that part easy. And the owner reminded me if I have any problems with the work to just come back and they would redo it. Love. Putting the service in customer service. And I got compliments on my nails at dinner. STUNNED BY MY RECENT EXPERIENCE I have been going to TL Nails for approximately 8 years or so. Lin does the finest work of anyone I've ever seen and I always appreciated how meticulous they are in their shop as well as the work Lin does ( By the way METICULOUS IS A FORMAL WORD FOR PICKY) I've had acrylic nails done by Lin and pedicures by different people. Over the time period I have been going there I have watched their prices increase several times.. And so my visits were more infrequent when money was tight. In the last few months, I have been going back to get my acrylic nails done, which sometimes lifted within one week and needed repairing which I thought was fair since it was only one week since having them done. This most recent time when I went back for a repair, afterwards I was told they didn't want me to come back BECAUSE I WAS TOO PICKY. I find it ironic that they, being as meticulous as they are, used the reason for discarding me as "too picky" when they are the same way.. When we as consumers pay the extremely high prices for services these days, I don't see ANY reason why WE shouldn't be able to request exactly what we want them to do to a part of our body, especially if WE ARE AS METICULOUS AS THEY ARE. Really, it's 3.5 stars. Buuuut, ya know... I made an appointment via Yelp messaging. That was super simple. I arrived and the host didn't have me down. The woman who did my gel manicure was quiet (which I prefer) and seemed to do a good job (mostly). She applied too much gel polish on my left hand (which was the first hand she started with) and it gathered on one side of one nail, which she didn't realize until after it went in to the UV Ray light. She seemed confused and didn't really know how to remedy the situation; but she figured it out (filling works best for excess cuticle or Polish). She finished up nicely and I was happy. Less than a week later, a different nail had chipped. Overall, the experience was good. I just have a difficult time finding nail technicians who use quality product that will last at least one week. When I arrived they actually closed at 5 but stayed open just because I had asked! I would recommend calling or messaging on Facebook to confirm your appointment. Their Yelp and Google page say they're closed on Sundays but they're actually open 9-5, just appointment only. Linh did my services today and she has a good attention to detail and is very sweet. Made my first appointment with TL Nails. The guy who answered the phone told me not to be late. I told him I would not be late. First thing I saw was a flyer on the door that said no loud talking. Went in and sat down. Early Saturday afternoon, three other women. The man eventually approached and pointed to a duplicate of that flyer on the front desk. I whispered that I had seen the one outside the door. He whispered back, but I couldn't hear him. OK, I thought, this is no place for bridal parties and the like. About 10 minutes after my scheduled start time, he sat me at a chair and turned on the soaking water. It was cool. Not even lukewarm. I whispered to the Vietnamese lady working next to me (not working on someone, just at the next chair) to please make it warmer and she looked at the guy. He came over and refused to make it warmer. The water was actually giving me chills. OK, I thought, this is uncomfortable. About 20 minutes after my scheduled start time, that same lady came over and started working on my feet. I was only there for a pedicure, no polish. She picked a little but finished that part after about 5 minutes. Then she massaged my feet and half up my calf. It was over so quick I counted the seconds after that first leg. Ninety seconds on the second leg. Then she got out the "hot stones" which were not hot at all. Fifty seconds on one leg and 45 seconds on the other. At least she went up to the knees. That was it. She was done. Total time since I walked in the door (5 minutes early), 50 minutes. OK, I thought, wow. Why did this place have any good reviews? Went to the front desk where there was a new flyer that hadn't been there when he'd pointed out the second shush flyer, that said "MUST PAY CASH". I had $10 cash for a tip (which I had decided not to give) but not the $40 he wanted for the ... let's call it a mini-pedi. I told him I hadn't brought cash and he whipped out the credit card machine. OK, I thought. I will never come back to this salon. read more

You get what you pay for and at $43 (not including tip), although a bit more pricey, you'll have beyond perfection nails! Absolutely wonderful - next time I have pedi I'll include photos- those are $40 for regular pedi and $50 for the ultimate pedi, which sounds well with it for paraffin, extra callous removals and extended massage (who doesn't want extra)?! I came here from out of town, for a set of acrylics and am very pleased with the results. The service was good, and the staff very kind and sweet. The atmosphere is very relaxing too. They have a sign at the door asking clients to not be on the phone or use speaker phone so other clients can relax and not be disturbed which I really appreciate. The nail set completion was much faster than back in DC, but the work is quality. My mom got a pedicure, and I requested gel for her pedi (I made the appt) but either my mom picked a regular nail polish by accident or there was a miscommunication. They only charged us for the regular pedi so that was that. My mom is super laid back so she wasn't upset so that's why the 5 stars. Her toes looked great (forgot to get a pic). Some things that don't matter to me but may to others: she did not push back my cuticles or trim them. Either I have nice hands or this is not standard procedure and you may have to ask. They also state cash payment is preferred, then check is second preferred, then debit/credit card. They also prefer you tip in cash, which we did not have any so we added it on to the check amount. Cash is preferred for tips and payment because if another form of payment is used, the tips are then taxable. So be aware of the preferred payment method so their staff gets tipped! read more
