I came to town looking for a local coffee shop with a drive thru and stumbled on Day-O. I ordered a 12 oz, vanilla latte with oat milk. The customer service was friendly and quick. This was a cute little coffee shop to get my caffeine fix before driving back to LA. There drive thru is a cool concept. They have a two way drive thru. I loved coming here when I lived in Sonora. It was such a tasty treat and I loved every drink I got. They are not open on Sundays though so don't waste your time going and a lot of the times they only accept cash, which is kind of weird but AnyWho, I suggest getting the orange drink. Tired of my drinks always getting made wrong. EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's irritating because when it's made correctly it's the most amazing drink ever. I was driving through Sonora with my niece and Sis-in-law when my teenage niece says, "I need a frap!" I suggested we try a local place and not the "S" place. Lol. This Day O place has about 4 locations within 10 miles of each other! We pulled over in downtown Sonora to relieve our craving for caffeine. I decided to try the cold brew. It was strong and flavorful with the vanilla cream they added. My niece like her Mocha Nut choice too. Friendly servers at the window. We'll be back. Love my good, strong coffee! read more

Sunday morning in Copperopolis, a 20 minute wait because there is one employee and line on both sides. The employee didn't listen, came back to ask if we had said 20oz Americanos. "Yes". However, I never asked for iced coffee. She made us iced coffee drinks. I dislike iced coffee with a passion. I don't care if it's 90° out, I will still drink hot coffee. With that said, while appreciate her verifying the size of our drink, she should have also verified that I wanted my drink hot. Just because 99% of customers this time of year want a cold drink doesn't mean all do. In the future on a Sunday morning, it would behoove your company to staff at least two employees as many customers are on their way to church or the lake. When you do get the order right, it is a great product...it's just getting your employees to get it right. I'd rather you ask me again than make the wrong drink read more

Stopped here after staying in the area for a wedding. The menu was easy to read in drive thru and very convenient. Husband got strawberry banana smoothie, he said it was VERY good but very rich. Double espresso frap was delicious! Not too sweet, plenty of caffeine goodness. They blend them just right, so instead of crunching on ice chunks, it was smooth and creamy. We also had the Tahitian Vanilla, but it so sweet... think vanilla Frappuccino with extra sugar. The menu looked fun, the girl was super friendly and it went quick for a drive through on a busy Sunday. While the building is bright yellow and wash to find, getting in and out with the traffic could be a challenge. read more

The worst coffee place I've ever been too. The customer service is friendly but they don't write your order down so 9 times out of 10 they get it wrong. I don't know why I keep giving it a chance cause I keep spending 6+ dollars on a drink that isn't even close to what I asked for. Don't get me wrong: I love the Columbia Day-O. But I live closer to Jamestown, and it's a more attainable stop when I'm looking for a quick stop on my morning commute. I won't make that mistake again. The Jamestown Day-O has delicious (and not overly sweet) raspberry smoothies, but the WORST service! The "barista" with the blonde bob haircut was so extremely rude, she ruined my entire morning. When I ordered, I asked for no whipped cream on my smoothie, since dairy interferes with my medications. She put extra. When I pointed out the mistake she rolled her eyes, scoffed and mumbled something under her breath. Took the smoothie, scraped some of the whipped cream off, and slammed it on the counter. When I went to pay, she snatched my card up and didn't even give a receipt before slamming the window in my face. I will not return here! read more

The best thing about this business isn't the incredibly delicious smoothies (MARIONBERRY, omg...), nor is it the awesome blended coffee frappes. It's the fact that they're a local, family-owned business who actively contribute to the community. They give away tons of smoothies to the local schools for graduations and they're at a variety of events. A lot of the profits go to causes like orphans in Russia or (recently) a local 3-year-old girl with cancer. It's cool to know that your money is going to a good cause. All that aside, their drinks are great. The girls who work there are always nice and it just seems like an overall happy place. I miss it BADLY since I've moved away! read more

From their coffee drinks, smoothies, teas... and they even make me a special blended Italian Ice!! So refreshing!! We are going to get everything on their menu to try it all!!!! Great coffee...but not a mask in site. Visited Day-O on Sun for a treat and I probably won't go back. I asked the barista what their mask policy was and she said the owners hadn't been in all weekend and she had no idea. No mask. No sanitizer that I could see. Was handling cash/credit cards then handing me my coffee. I'm not crazy panicked about COVID19, but come on people. Wash your hands after touching money and before touching my drink. If you don't want to wear a mask and follow simple safety guidelines then I don't need your $5 coffee. Keep your employees and customers safe. read more

For the Columbia location: As a student at Columbia College, I have stopped by Day-O several times for a quick caffeine fix. I've never been disappointed until my most recent visit. I ordered my usual: 16 oz triple shot soy latte. Right off the bat it tasted more bitter than I had remembered. With about a fourth of the latte remaining, I felt a small chunk in my mouth that had a gelatinous texture. Immediately spitting it back into the cup, I went to the bathroom to pour it out and record this video. Pretty gross. I have since been convinced that this resulted from the soy milk either not being mixed or being expired. However, this has never happened before at other cafes/coffee houses, so I was definitely surprised. When using soy milk or most milk alternatives for that matter, it's important to give it a good shake. read more

Awesome customer service! Right before, I tried to order from Starbucks and they failed to give me a dark roast coffee in the drive thru. Thankfully, I was able to order a double Americano over ice which tasted good. This location and all other Day-Os I've been to has never disappointed me and they are half the price of Starbucks. I used to love getting the heaven and chai tea, was a consistent customer that ordered a ton.. Last Wednesday I went to see if perhaps they started wearing masks so that I can once again enjoy my favorite drinks. I have a newborn so I try not to risk catching anything, I wish these baristas would consider people in my situation and immune compromised individuals...its not that hard to wear one but they always seem to get an attitude about it. My husband and I was given very rude service . He asked why they were not wearing masks and if they know that its mandated. The girl serving us had usa colored flag earings on and a brown pony tail, she made a rude remark with attitude then asked what can I get you, he said "nothing"and before we drove off she said something like she didn't want to serve us anyway. Why would we want to be served by disrespectful people in a hut that talk their asses off over my coffee just seems high risk. Not just the viruses and flus I worry about, but due to this bad behaviour I worry someone might spit in my order if I speak up, especially after reading another comment in which someone found a"geloutenous" thing in their drink. I thought If your going to work in customer service you put should have respect for your customers and put aside the rude attitude. You've lost me as a customer and many more because of such disrespect. read more

Day-O is a drive-thru coffee house with locations in Jamestown, Downtown Sonora, and Mono Vista, none of which correspond to the address Yelp shows. So if you can find one of the locations and are thirsty I think you will find Day-O convenient with a pleasant staff. They have mostly espresso drinks, frappes, and smoothies. Unfortunately I find the smoothies overly sweet and lacking actual fruit and the coffee poor tasting. The other espresso drinks are OK and I like the chai. I have to admit its personal taste. I don't like sweet drinks and there's a heavy emphasis on them here. The thought of an Italian soda PLUS peach syrup AND whipped cream makes me gag. So I go for the coffee drinks and I find them lacking. I still feel I should give three stars because of the convenience factor and good service. If they would just put more focus on the quality of their coffee I would be a regular customer. read more

In college we actually contemplated driving from the Bay Area home to Sonora just for Day-O. It's that good.
