Good morning and goodbye, Comfort Inn. Your room was ok…read more The toilet was running when I walked in and ran each time I flushed it. Just a jiggle of the handle worked it out. (Fyi). The seat moves on you. People be aware, so you dont fall off onto the floor, or worse, in the toilet. Water strength in the shower was better than Quality but just by a bit. I asked for a room with a view and I got it. I could see 81 and the beautiful mountains behind it. Lighting was efficient but also due to the windows permitting that wonderful sunlight to shine through.(just wash the windows please) Your TV was frustrating as its The Dish. Nothing on, that I liked, so I propped up my phone and watched Big Brother on Pluto. Thanks for the Wifi. Your breakfast eggs and yogurt hit the spot. Coffee was A+. Great setting on top of the hill, here. Convenient to everything.

You could tell this hotel used to have a restaurant but it's all pretty much closed off now. It's old and needs an update but it was cheap and it's clean enough. Only cost me 12,000 choice points during a weekday. Hallway does smell like cigarette smoke a bit. Unfortunately the outside door at the end of the hallway was really far from the lobby and it was unlocked and anybody could just walk in. Big security risk right there! Room is nice and clean but old and outdated. Furniture is a bit scuffed up and curtains definitely have some tiny little holes in them. But really for the money, it's a safe and cheap stay. I would stay again overnight but definitely not a place I would spend multiple nights at. Breakfast was also pretty basic.

On top it of that; after…read morethey stole the money, they had the nerve to lie to me and blame Expedia and Hiltons hotel policy for stealing my money. The fact is the general manager and manager of this hotel have zero honor and will literally steal your money to meet their hotels quota. Hope it was worth the $150. I gave the management multiple opportunities to do the right thing. Do not trust this hotel with anything. If any business is willing to steal from you and then lie to you, there is nothing they are not willing to do. I stay at hotels over 100 days a year and never has something like this happened. Gross.

The service was great, a nice greeting when I checked in and the staff was friendly throughout the stay. Special shout out to Ginny at the front desk for her stellar service. The location is inviting, and my king bed & room with outside entry was spacious and clean. The room had all the Hampton amenities including a nice size TV, microwave, mini fridge, iron and full size ironing board, and a coffee maker. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a nice lounge chair. There was plenty of parking, and my room was in the back of the hotel (by the cabin) and the area was quiet and relaxing. The property has a lot of charm, especially the historic Cabin built in the mid-1700s, it catches the attention and is used as a special events space. The main house, Col Alto, is a beautiful Georgian-style brick home dating back to 1827. Both are rich in history and make the stay even more unique. I would absolutely stay here again and hear the historic rooms with bath tubs are the rooms to reserve. I was most pleased with the Kind bed & room.

Free parking is available within steps of the hotel and no need for valet service (unless you want it). I also highly recommend the Skyline restaurant on the top floor for good food and superior service. My only negative, and this is not about the hotel, is that Lynchburg seems to be a dying town (and least in the area of the hotel). I never felt unsafe while walking around (the Lower Bluff Walk is nice), but on a Monday afternoon it felt like a ghost town. Nevertheless, if I'm ever again in Lynchburg I would stay here again.

When entering the room it's the living area and dining. Includes a TV, 1/2 bath, closet space with ironing board and extra bedsheet and pillows, fridge, microwave, glasses for coffee and water. Moving down to the master bedroom, there are doors separating the two spaces if you're traveling with multiple people so there's privacy. In the master bedroom, there's a tv, closet with robes, master bath with two vanities, a standalone toilet room separate from bath area. A giant soaker tub and stand alone shower with a bench and plenty of space for amenities. Also in the bedroom is a large desk and two dressers on both sides of the bed.

Didn't get to use the charcoal "park grill" that was added since our last visit but it looked like it has potential to make a great meal. "Next time!" Staff is friendly and goes to lengths to make sure you feel welcome and that your stay is comfortable. Wifi at the cabin was helpful in locating things to do in the area since there's no cell service. We kept the electronics to a minimum and enjoyed the beauty the area has to offer. The highlights of our stay were the hike to the top of Crabtree Falls, the beach fun at Sherando Lake and the visit to Wild Wolf Brewery for dinner and corn hole. Can't wait to book our next stay at what the kids have dubbed "our cabin in Virginia!" Lol!

Logwood - Renter Beware!!!…read more Video/pictures are carefully presented to not depict what you will be truly getting. If you are looking for a private cabin in the woods with easy access to a creek right outside the back door, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. - The cabin is located on a well-traveled road, not off the beaten path via the gravel drive depicted. - There are two additional homes right next door - a big rating of 0 for privacy. - The inside is extremely small (which was ok), but the photos do not accurately depict what is there. The full size washer/dryer (in the kitchen) is overkill in this little space , no cute table & chairs; instead an ugly bar thing. The furnishings are more than a little worn; look like they came from a bad second-hand store. - Bath is ok; no shower. - Upstairs is a one room loft. The video depicts 2 full size beds, the written description states 3. Which is it? Three beds and dressers, which makes for very little space to even move around. I can't imagine 6 adults sleeping up there. - If you are disabled or elderly, you will not be able to enjoy the creek in the back as one must navigate a steep vertical slope down/up. And, I mean steep! - While the cabin is set up to sleep a hand full of people, the size is truly for no more than 2 - even three would be pushing it. - As we didn't stay, I can't really comment on the kitchen (it "appeared" adequate) or the condition/comfort of the beds. We wanted to get away from it all, not be sharing our time with the neighbors next door and not be able to enjoy the creek and surrounding woods. Suffice it to say, people do not pack up with 2 large dogs, fill up with gas (which is not cheap these days), and travel for several hours only to turn around and leave. While we were offered to try another cabin, we declined in that we really didn't want to deal with folks who had been so deceptive from the get go and continued to place the blame on us since we didn't investigate the property on Google Maps. Really!!! We were offered a 50% refund, of which we only received a portion. We should have been refunded 100% for the pet fee charge and the arm load of fire wood we purchased, plus an error in their math when initially charging us. As far as I'm concerned, we should have been refunded for every penny.
