I'm a person who asks a lot of questions, and with every email I sent, I would get a same day reply from Phil. I did not get the sense that he was bothered at all. Sometimes I'd email, and sometimes I'd call him. Phil was not pushy to try and sell me a garage door, or to even go with the most expensive door. He had recommendations, but these were more of an FYI, because I no nothing about garage doors. Deciding on which business to go with was difficult, but I ultimately decided to go with Phil because the price was a bit better than the other business. Since I am having a lot of work done in the garage, any savings definitely helped. I was promptly notified when the door was delivered and scheduled for install in a decent timeframe. On the day of install, I received a text confirming both Ron and Chris were en route. I was event provided a link, so I could track where they were. They both arrived within the arrival window and got straight to work. They finished by the expected time they provided, and made sure to leave the garage nice and clean. They explained how to use the remotes and all the settings. The door is really quiet! I never thought a door could be that quiet. We had the liftmaster side mount opener installed, so there is no belt/pulley system taking up ceiling space. The garage door looks amazing! Our old door was plain, so I added magnetic hardware to spruce it up. Because the new door has a nice WOW factor to it, I won't be using the magnets. I'd highly recommend giving Phil a call if you are thinking about having a new door installed.

The Liftmaster seems to rate well and he has it in stock. So far we've been very happy with it. I called a company 3 years ago called Garage Door and Gate Repair, they replaced a broken garage door spring(s) both have to be replaced. The person who showed up took advantage of the situation and sold me on purchasing "heavy duty" with an extended warranty (7 yrs). Something didn't seem right and I didn't want another problem with the springs breaking causing perhaps more damage to the opener, cars underneath, etc... so I called Dave, had him come and inspect the springs. He made some calculations and said the springs installed were actually undersized and Not heavy duty? And by law regular spring should last close to 10yrs. Had him change out the springs and paid half of what I paid the other guy and got "real heavy duty spring" and a 15 year warranty. Thanks Dave for educating me on garage spring(s) sizing and not taking advantage like the other guy. Everyone: Please do yourself a favor, go ahead and call around ask how much to replace your garage door springs, if they don't give you the price mentioned on Dave website don't do it, unless you like throwing money away?

Jay immediately started framing and when the glass pieces came in, he and his crew came out and finished the framing and installation. We bought a new house and remodeled the guest shower. We've used a different shower glass company multiple times in the past for our last house we remodeled and LOVE that company but figured this time around we could try Glass Guru for this newly remodeled shower because they are more local and our previous experience with them was great! Unfortunately, this experience was subpar, 2/5 stars (hence my 3/5 star rating, I split the difference between my two experiences with this company). Setting up the estimate appt was easy and they came out quickly. The estimate arrived promptly as well. We decided to pull the trigger and that's slightly where it went downhill. Due to the tile we used, I did ask the estimator Jay what option would be best. Floating shower doors or a set up that had metal trim around the whole thing that holds the glass in a more sturdy manner.. he said either would work. When the guys came to install, they didn't really seem to know what they were doing. The end result looked very sloppy, the clear silicone looked like it was pasted on by a 5 year old and a black trim piece placed along the bottom was crooked. When I mentioned this to Jay, he said he would happily replace the trim piece but would need to order it. When I told him this was our only real "complaint" he followed up with a statement "well, so I have a complaint now, the tile you used is really thin". Um, ok, what does that have to do with this situation?! I asked from the beginning what shower glass would be best and was told that any would be ok but now we're talking about how thin my tile is?! What a very odd statement to make to a customer AFTER install. This should be assessed prior to install AND I asked what glass set up would be best for our shower. Anyhow, 2-3 weeks went by after mentioning all of this and complete silence. I had to actually call to ask when this new trim piece would be installed and then they finally set up the appt. When a customer has an issue with something, they shouldn't be the one to have to call and follow up, right? The same kids came to install the new piece and they did a better job but as I sit here today writing this, no one has followed up with me to see how everything looks now. The customer service is non existent with this company. I will definitely be returning to Exquisite Shower Glass in Corona for my next shower remodel, not Glass Guru. They might be good at some glass related things but sliding shower glass doors don't seem to be it.

Oh no...it's winter time again...! It was time to replace our 20+ year old heavy wood two car garage door. The beast that would make hideous sounds when my wife and I pushed the garage door opener button because it had swollen up with so much moisture from the winter rain that we feared it would come crashing down on us! So, I did what any other loving husband would do who feared for the life and safety of his wife. I called around to find a garage door company who would slay the beast and carry it far far away. I was looking for a local company that could come out and replace it within the week at the best price I could find and great professional service. It only took a couple of minutes on the phone before the friendly and professional help that Sheila from DC Garage Doors provided as we exchanged questions and answers about the products and services that they provide as well as their great prices gave me the confidence to know that DC Garage Doors definitely stood out from the four other companies I called. My garage door has two torsion spring and one is broken. It's my first time to have this problem. I just use Yelp to find which Repair Company is good according to the reviews of the other people. I called DC Garage Doors at 8:30am, his wife answered the phone right away (coz the other company that I called is not answering their phone, left a message but they didn't call me back). She said her husband will come after an hour. Don showed up at 9:30 am, we agreed on the price for $140.00 (labor and parts), replaced both torsion spring, made some inspection/adjustment/lubrication on other parts of the garage door. He was done for about an hour. Paid with my credit card. I don't know if they have the cheapest price.... but I don't care because the other company didn't bother to answer my call when I needed them and it's the DC Garage Doors that took care of my problem right away. He gave me 5 years of warranty for the torsion spring. I will definitely recommend DC Garage Doors to my friends. read more

So I called DC Garage Doors and spoke with a very nice woman (learned later to be Don's wife) who agreed to service our door at the same price. Don Calvo arrived punctually as scheduled and spent an hour servicing our wooden door - tightening screws, replacing some that were not properly anchored and lubricating all joints. All for $35.
