These guys are hands down are the sheet! Had some wobble issues on a 22 JLUR and called up David told me to swing by. His Head shop mechanic Danny looked it over and spent about an hour on it. Noticed some issues but as a mechanic I know they would need it in hand. Recommended to swap out some OE inferior parts and knuckles so I ordered them up, only reason I ordered is the knuckles were BO for 18 weeks and I found the last pair nationally. Following week David said come on in easy as that. DO Jeep had it back next day. Install done Danny found a weak point from FCA fixed. Drove this piglet home and got on it trying to force the wobble NOTHING not 1 bit. I'm not sure what all these reviews on David or this shop are but it's BS. David is direct, down to earth, and knows his sheet, stop buy and check his builds out these are 100k plus builds. Danny and his shop guys are great and the welder don't know his name can weld! I so badly wanted to like DCD Customs, their shop is clean, their builds are high end and it's always busy with Jeep projects. I brought in a stock 99 TJ for suspension work. After many visits, they changed the springs and eventually installed a transfer case short shaft kit that leaked from the output shaft soon after installation due to poor assembly. Many signs of a rushed job including my adjustable control arms and pinion angle being completely off, the wrong length rear shocks, the output seal of the SYE leaking, oil all over the oil pan. They didn't even take the time to get my car aligned after performing work after holding my car for weeks in the dirt and sun. They don't actually care how your Jeep performs or how long the parts last. I know their employees are extremely talented but they just do what David tells them to do, like rush low priority work. My personal experience led me down a path of over paying for labor and parts, not receiving itemized invoices with part names, not knowing what work was actually completed and having to pay a different shop to get my Jeep TJ back on the road. These guys worked on my car multiple times and held it for weeks without updates, it's really a poor system for communication. They would rather cut corners and lie then do the job correctly the first time, it's a sales game for them. If you have a big budget for half of the actual work you will get billed for, this is your shop. If your Jeep project is less than $10k, go find yourself a local mechanic that has experience American 4x4s and they will get the job done right with attention to detail DCD forgot about long ago. read more

6/30/21.... Called the week prior and made an appointment for Wed 6/30/21 to have my Rock Krawler control arm bushings replaced. Once again, was only bringing it to DCD since the bushings and labor were covered under warranty. I dropped off my jeep at 9am (opening). No follow up call received from DCD since, so I called late afternoon Thurs and was advised would not be ready today, but should be done by Friday, and Serine (spelling?) (receptionist) advised would keep me in the loop as to progress. I explained that's fine, but I need the jeep back by tomorrow (Friday) afternoon since a) it's my daily driver, and b) I had an offroad/camping trip planned with friends that 4th of July weekend. I further explained that if they couldn't finish all the bushings, it's completely fine, that I would just take it as is and can bring it back the following week to finish, or whenever they had availability. No follow up received from DCD Friday. I called around 2:30pm and was advised to come by at 5pm to pick up. At 4:45pm as I was already on my way there, I get a call from the receptionist advising that it would not be ready by then and if it was okay I come by at 7pm wherein they would have a tech stay later to finish it. It would have been great to receive that communication sooner! Stopped by at 6:45pm and tech Danny said he has only completed the front 4 arms still having the 4 rear to work on (didn't receive a call sooner with a heads up it wouldn't be finished which would have been nice, professional, and not waste my time further). He said he can definitely finish it tonight and meet me in the morning, agreeing on 6am. He said he'd call or text me in the evening as a status update and so I would have his number. Never received. I show up at 6am Saturday morning at the shop waiting for him, and finally left at 7:15am. Called and texted the owner, no response received. I go home. Called David again at 8:30am, then 9:30am, no response. Texted again at 10:30am, FINALLY he responds and gives me the tech, Danny's, number. I call Danny and calmy asked "What's going on? I thought we were to meet at 6am at the shop?". He claims he miswrote my number down. I asked about the meeting time. He stated he was there at 6:30am but he didn't see me so he left. A complete lie, considering I was right in the front driveway blocking the locked gate to get inside between 6am to 7:15am. At that point he told me he could meet me at the shop in an hour. I agreed and requested he call or text me when he's close. An hour goes by and no call or text. I call Danny...text Danny, no response, now been an hour and a half. I called David and explained the situation that this is what we agreed and I couldn't get a hold of Danny. Mind you, I am being REAL patient, calm, and pleasant even after this f*ckery between the my last experience and this situation. David then has the nerve to tell me a) he's out of town and this situation is not his problem, b) I shouldn't be arranging meetups or any decisions with any of his employees (which mind you Danny arranged and brought up in the first place), and c) said he'd see if someone was around and available to meet me at the shop to get my jeep, "but no promises". Are you kidding me?? An hour goes by, another 30min more. I call David, no answer. I call Danny multiple times, no response. At this point they are ghosting me. At this point I'm thinking it's inevitable I would not get my jeep back until Tues (and even then, crossing fingers), which will have been 6 days without my jeep. All for what...6-8 hours of work?? I know this was a long review, but I had to explain the horrible customer service, countless moments of negligence, lies, and opportunities where DCD could have done right. I sincerely urge all to take their business elsewhere. If you like to have your vehicle held hostage for days over hours of work, or weeks for a couple days of work, while overpaying for labor and parts, getting a rushed job, and not receive any adequate progress reports, by all means. Do yourself a favor and do the job yourself so you know what is being done, or do the research to ensure you take your vehicle in to a reputable company that is professional, courteous, and fair to their customers. Is it possible to put a zero, this place is terrible only person here that's good is the phone lady, but she gets screwed because the staff lies to her about when there actually going to be done, they have no since of urgency and would rather lie then just tell the truth, they told me they had to charge my battery, the fuck does that mean, jump my car drive it around and give it back doesn't take 4 months to charge a battery, but I don't think they know that. The owner David T takes his time and walks you through the process. He's available and doesn't give you the run around, and of course guarantees his work. Big thank you to David and the DCD Customs team for doing an epic job turning our Jeep into a beast! Modding a brand new Jeep is not for the faint of heart and after countless hours of research/phone calls/visits to Jeep builders, we decided to bring our Jeep to DCD Customs for some fairly extensive upgrades. We wanted to achieve a clean but aggressive look, improved functionality and better than stock ride. We chose DCD because they are experts in Jeep-building (which is their specialty) and after speaking with David, the owner, it became obvious that they were the best shop for the job. During our initial consultation, David took the time to explain the whys and the hows to make sure we were on the same page as far as aesthetics vs. functionality were concerned. He suggested we steer clear of some parts/manufactures, instead recommending higher quality parts that were better priced than the ones we had picked out. He was also very transparent about pricing of parts/labor so we were confident we were getting premium quality parts and top notch service for a fair price. The build out process itself would have been quicker had it not been for parts availability issues, however the administrative staff at DCD Customs did a great job keeping us informed of at all times. The Jeep turned out amazing! David has an excellent eye for design and detail and we are glad we went with the parts he recommended. We are beyond pleased with the way our build turned out. Got jeeps? DCD does and they will take yours to a level none else in Cali can!!! Been building and modifying Jeep's my whole life but never cld I imagine what Dave at DCD was about to do to mine!!! ordered one of the very first sting grey Gladiators from the factory and had it drop shipped directly to DCD.. Dave helped me pick my poison of parts and I wrote him a check...his master Mind of custom installs Danny is one of the most talented builders I have ever met and after my parts arrived they tore into my jeep...6.4 hemi conversion, dynatrac hd 60's front and rear and many more mods Just to name a few...
