Pleasant enough experience yesterday for my first visit to Fox Tire. My tire pressure light popped up on my dash and Fox Tire was the closest place to my work. I popped in around 9:30am and despite it taking 5 or so minutes to talk to someone (it seemed like the owner was frustrated with his employees just "sitting around." Once I spoke to someone, they immediately asked me to bring my car around and within 2 minutes my tires were filled and I was on my way. (No charge, but a few $$ is always a must for the service). I hate to say it but if you're a woman or inexperienced with cars do not go here. My car broke down and AAA towed it here, I was told they would try to start my engine but the chances were slim to none that it would ever start again and I'd most likely need to replace the engine or purchase a new car. The owner was very quick to text me engine possibilities and the cost of them + labor (all about 4-6k) and he even had a car on the lot he said he'd be willing to sell me! (Lucky me, right?) At this point I was already researching my next step and considering my car a goner. But a couple days passed and they had yet to call me. When I called in to check on the status of my car they told me the engine is done (I'm assuming he tried to start it like he said he would). I knew there was a recall on it so I asked if maybe that would have contributed to the problem? He said no and that it would not be worth even considering. Fast forward I ended up taking my car to KIA and they were able to not only start the engine but replace it under recall. Polar opposite ending. I'm so glad I got a second opinion, and I'm very disappointed because they seemed very kind and genuine. read more

My first review ever... Randy is just another cliche, heartless car dealer. I was buying a car for my wife when I found Randy's add on Facebook marketplace. My first message to him was the offer and he instantly agreed on it and I went to test drive the car and loved it. Wasn't until I showed up the next day with the $13k cash that we agreed on the day before that he told me that he is going back on his offer by thousands and that technically he's a dealership so I have to pay taxes on top of it. The stress of getting that kind of cash let alone driving it around all day was horrible as randy probably swiveled in his little fucking chair all afternoon. He didn't even apologize. RANDY DEMONSTRATED, OLD-FASHIONED, INTEGRITY AND GENEROSITY THAT IS RARE IN TODAY'S WORLD. I was a new customer with a problem that they fixed fairly and saved me greatly needed monies. I saw Randy, proprietor, demonstrate both genuine kindness, and trust... to me... even putting my little job ahead of others on the racks. He apparently sees good in people, and he helped me to immediately get back on the road... BUT... trusting me to pay him, NOTHING, but in full when I could in a week. That was not something I suggested... it was something he did... It was the highlight of my week, knowing there are still some good, caring people left in this world, with old-fashioned values, at business with only trust and a handshake. Wow. How many other shops would do that? I doubt any others would. If a mechanic shop does that... when he does not even have to... then I believe they are genuine, fair, and trustworthy. I would go there in a heartbeat than any other shop. This relatively small shop has to be based largely on repeat customers... and word of mouth... because my car had to break down nearby... in order to find them by chance. But these guys were above-board... and I could not have been luckier to try them out. A recent rain had caused my engine shield plate under the vehicle, come loose and drag under my car. The factory attachment screws and holes were broken. I was across the street and found Fox tire and auto, by luck, and went in where I was greeted by Randy. I witnessed Randy finishing up a transaction with a senior-aged professional that he had obviously known for years, and he spoke with in finishing up a service/repair. I was about 10 ft from this gentleman, with a bad leg, and I could not help but hear the sad story of this gentleman being taken advantage of, and great financial adversity that basically cleaned him out... It was tragic. Randy listened intently to it, and they spoke back and forth.... I tuned out a little after that... but I do believe he showed this old customer some favor, and adjusted the bill, in view that this long-time customer had certainly experienced better times. He certainly appeared to care more about this customer... than the money. Back to me... I was also having bad luck and great financial adversity, but this shop was more than fair in charging me very little to fix my issue. Despite the shop having only a parking space or two; and no racks open, they told me it was going to be only $20... and re-attached the piece quickly and most fairly Macgyver style. An unscrupulous shop would have told me I needed to order a new part, wait, and come back to get it attached. They knew I was quite concerned about the cost of fixing it and certainly could have taken advantage of the situation... but they did not. Randy loI had spent my cash down to the last cent and was awaiting my paycheck in a week. Randy told me not to worry and just pay him online... or in person when I got the money and sent me on my way, trusting me. I felt terrible, and incredibly fortunate/shocked about it, because otherwise my car was not really drivable, and the whole piece would be ground down through driving with it under the car. I did finally get paid, and went to hand him the cash and he told me to keep it. I told him to take at least half. He told me that I needed it more than he did and he was glad to be in a position where he could do such a thing. Randy was absolutely right. He did not know that I needed it more than ever, as I had about 10 miles of gas left in my car, and those funds were all I had to get by for a couple of days. So, this was a small deal, but one must commend this type of character demonstrated and I will be bringing my car here when I need things fixed because of it, and the kindness extended and demonstrated. That is a rare thing... and one of the nicest things a business has ever done for me. I do not like writing reviews... but this type of thing absolutely deserves a share and warrants favorable review. I wish tht there were more businesses in the world that did such things, but there are none that I have come into contact with in my 55 yrs.... read more

Randy is a great. He took care of my vehicle as a walk in and got me setup with an oil change quickly. He was honest about what was needed and the cost involved. The oil change took a bit longer than I wanted, but it was done and sorted. He made sure my filters got changed and threw in a AAA discount. I came in to look at a car being sold from one of the mechanics and Randy (I guess he's the owner) was representing for the car since the mechanic wasn't there today. I asked him some simple questions about the car and how much it would be to fix it and he completely ignored me and told me that I need to get my own mechanic for those kinds of questions and that he wasnt going to answer those questions for me. I don't know what it is about some mechanics but they think women dont know shit about cars so they don' even want to bother explaining anything , I felt like he was more annoyed if anything and didn't care for me to be there. Last I checked this shop goes by Fox Tire and Auto. Looks like one of the other comments/reviews mentions an ownership change. I normally take my car to a big name tire chain but gave this small, local shop a try. I still regret it. This is one of those places where I realized I knew about my car than the people working there. Long story short they hassled me about some wheel studs I knew had some issues. I had removed and replaced wheels on my own and had little problem doing so. Their excessive use of the air impact wrench destroyed one of my wheel hubs and I ended up spending a few hundred dollars at the dealership getting it fixed. Not recommended. read more

After family members have gone here and seemed happy enough, I took my car in for brake problem. They struck me as honest and experienced. One of the customers in the waiting room told me she has been going there for 9 years and trusts them implicitly. They fixed my problem which surprised me a little, because usually I sort of expect to get screwed at the auto mechanic. That's why I try to do all my own repairs when possible. But they really fixed it. Anyway, four stars are for 2 reasons: Price was a little more than I expected. And, they had my car way longer than they said they needed it for.
