I, along with my father have known Berj for over 30+ years. Back when I met Berj I had an '81 Cadillac he worked on for me quite a bit. At the end of 2024, I went to my dealership to have an oil change and they gave me a list of things needing repair, the most expensive on the list, the right front axle. Feeling frustrated and low on funds, I took the car to Berj for a second opinion. It wasn't only in need of replacement, it was broken and had I gone further it could have stranded me. Berj and I looke at pricing for the OEM axle, and an aftermarket axle. He questioned why I'd want to go with an OEM axle, and then explained to me that both the OEM and aftermarket axle would last the same time, perhaps 60k+ miles but the cost... huge difference. I thought about it overnight and took the car to Berj the next day, and waited for the work to be completed. While the car was on the lift the discovered my power steering pump was beginning to seep, however Berj said it didn;t need to be done right away. I have the price, he gave me, and will bring the car back when I'm able. It is due to Berj's honesty, and willingness to show me the difference between overpaying and paying faily for services that I'd gone to him long ago, and will return again and again. If you seek an honest mechanic that has a team that does great work and doen't price gouge you to death, bring your car to Berj and the United Auto Works team! Brought my Ford Edge to Martin at United Auto Works for a routine oil change. This was my first visit to the shop. Martin is such a wonderful guy and gives excellent service. The shop is clean and they do not try to upsell you at all. He was trustworthy and honest and explained everything so I could understand what my car needed. Here's another 5Star review for United Auto Works and Berj. Instead of repeating what you'll read in the countless other 5Stars reviews, here's one point to add which I hadn't read. Speed. UAW has six repair stations each equipped with a vehicle lift. Not to mention, Berj employs multiple mechanics. UAW is therefore not a small operation. The shop can handle multiple jobs and get them done in a very timely matter. What's more, if the job is one which requires a little extra attention, you'll get a reliable estimate on when the job will be finished. I speak from experience. I brought my fiance's car to Berj last week. The estimated cost for repairs on a two-day repair was a shock. He explained our options and got our car back on the road. After talking with her about what to do, we decided on going ahead with the repairs. I called-in and made an appointment to bring in the car first-thing the following Monday. On Sunday, I noticed a pretty gnarly coolant leak from my car. I drove her car there and told Berj about my issue. He said "yeah, bring it in, we'll get started on her car and take a look at yours." Point being, he found my WRX needed a simple repair and I had it back the same day. As far as her Ford Edge. Just like Berj suggested, the major repair was done and we picked up her car before the close of business two days later... Before I close I gotta speak to the common points brought up in previous reviews. Affordability, knowledge and integrity. When I answered the call from Berj about our Edge he shared what he found, what repairs were necessary and how long the repairs would take. He eventually had to drop the bomb on me. A four-figure bomb at that. He said that the car is road worthy and it is ready to be picked up. And left it at that. So of course, I called around for a few other quotes, but I'm just some dude off the street/Google search results. UAW was far and away much less expensive than the other shops I called for second opinions. While it's always hard to suck up and agree to costly repairs, I know a good job was done on our Edge, as well asy WRX. THANKS UAW and Berj! I had a recharge done on my AC and he quoted me the BEST price by far out of a good 6 other places throughout the valley., he also said it would take an hour but it was actually less than a half hour. Decided to try this place because they had such good reviews! All I needed at the time was an oil change and tire rotation. The owner wasn't as friendly to me as he is to his regulars which I noticed when one walked in while I was sitting in the very humid waiting room. The service itself was fast taking less than an hour. My car is fine after the simple service but the tires did need some air which I did myself. 3 stars for the mediocre service, my car is an older car so it does need some major service done down the line but I don't think I'll be returning even though his prices are fair. I'd rather find a place that will acknowledge all its customers not just its favorites. read more

Called for AC service. I let the tech know that I no longer had cold air coming out of the vents. He immdiately told me that I probably had one or several leaks. He also told me that my compressor was probably messed up and it needed to be replaced. All complete guesses. He then told me that I was probably looking at a couple hundred dollars worth of work, no including labor. No thanks! I called Saticoy Auto Center...they did a REAL check on my vehicle (without the guess work). They found that I had NO leaks. All hoses were fine. The compressor was just fine. I chose this place because I recently moved to SFV and I saw it was ranked 5 stars on Yelp. I came there in the beginning of February to have my two steering harness changed, and a regular oil change. The bill total was 177 something. I couldn't pick up the car right after the service because I had my eye lasik surgery. Therefore, the owner (Berj) had to drop my key at a liquor store closeby so that I could pick up my car later the day. I had to write this, so whoever from the store is reading this comment now knows that I am a legitimate person, not a random person. The next day I had to drive my car down to OC, and the steering harness came off in the middle of my way! I had to drive to another car shop in OC to replace just a harness (it cost me 55 dollars for the service). I had to come back to United Auto Works store the following Monday and asked for a refund. I was very quite, and I was waiting for the response how they were going to refund my service. They only refunded me 20 dollars for the cost of the harness! They charged me the other day 137 for the whole service, but damn, only gave me back 20 dollars for the lousy service they had on my car for that particular harness! If I were them, I would refund 55 dollars fee that I got to pay on Sunday of replacing the harness from the other store. Berj did apologize. He is a very nice guy; but the people who worked for him did a horrible job on my car, and the guy who refunded me only 20 dollars worshiped money than his reputation. I don't wish you guys run out of business, but karma is a bi-otch. Bye! read more
