Do not, do NOT spend your money or your time at DCP Motorsports. If it were possible to give it zero stars, I would. I would not trust those other reviews; they look like accounts friends created to just to give a review for DCP Motors, which is no reflection of how Darrel Pierre runs the business for ACTUAL customers. The reader's digest version: Darrel screwed up repairs and diagnostics of my 2005 BMW X3 in Feb 2018. He felt badly for wasting valuable time and money (I was supposed to drive my car to Florida for a writing retreat, and now had to spend money to fly at the last minute and then drive), and so offered to replace the engine and charging me only the parts, so donating his labor in an effort to make up the roughly $1500 he would cost me for his mistake. On the surface, it seemed like a generous offer. However, by October of 2018 -- the old engine was still in my BMW, and Darrel had yet to produce receipts for the parts he allegedly purchased, a receipt for the engine or a receipt for the parts that I paid him cash for. I had the car towed out of his possession then. There were a few warning signs: -- Darrel asked me for cash upfront before beginning repairs. This is a huge no no. -- Darrel always has an excuse the day before the car is meant to be ready. -- Darrel is a poor communicator, and rarely has a written record, whether timeline, or estimate or receipts. -- He insisted that he found a solid engine for $600, but would need to turn in my engine to get that price. I've been told by a number of mechanics since that this is incredibly dodgy. Engines are not priced on whether or not you are turning in yours for scrap metal. Again, there was no receipt of him purchasing this, not that I ever saw him produce. The 4th time that the car was meant to be ready and wasn't, Darrel rented a rental car for me, and promised that my car would be ready within two weeks. Tell me why not only was the car not ready 30 days later, but I got a call from Enterprise saying that Darrel's credit card had declined and that they hadn't been able to get in touch with him for 10 days? I was also told that if I didn't return the car in 24 hours, they would be forced to report the vehicle as stolen. Needless to say, after thousands of dollars spent on planes (my job takes me out of Dallas for extended periods of time, but I would fly back when the car was allegedly "near completion"), and rental cars, I STILL had to rent another car when Darrel's credit card was maxed out, and my car was still not ready. A week before I was set to go to New York for a few months, Darrel promised that the car would be ready. Wrong. We drove by his shop every day for a week and took photos of the car parked OUTSIDE of his garage, on the street. He had no intention of doing the work, and after 8 months -- would he ever? His excuse was that since he was donating his labor he had to find the time to donate the hours -- and you couldn't find that in nearly a year? Darrel's "donated labor" cost me way more than if he or someone else had just charged me outright. I called and text Darrel for TWO WEEKS after he said that I could come and pick up the engine -- he did not pick up the phone once. He then finally text me back to say that "I will refund you the money when I see the engine on your behalf." WE DID NOT ASK HIM TO SELL THE ENGINE FOR US, we asked him to give it BACK TO US. Did he even buy one? Why wouldn't he let us see it? Or the receipt? At worst, it's lying, at best, it's poor business practice. Either way, it's unacceptable. After being incommunicado for two weeks, he also added, "Please stop harassing me." Umm -- you are holding money that we both agreed is owed to me and I'm calling you about it -- that's not harassment. You're not harassing someone to ask them, "So, when are you going to pay me what you owe me?" No one should go through this with a mechanic. EVER. We are basically in the process of suing Darrel, just as Enterprise (on Colt Road, call them and ask them) had to threaten in order to get their money from him. There's a pattern here. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT get entangled with this mechanic -- he's terrible and he's shady. Do not patron DCP Motors; I would only recommend him to by very worst enemy. read more

I have dealt with the owner Darrel on multiple occasions for my maintenance and repair requests and he has delivered every time. Great people, went beyond their work timings on friday and helped me fix my car. Very friendly. They diagnose the problem well and make sure that it is fixed. My entire coolant system was faulty, while kwikcar didn't diagnose the problem these people found and fixed it on friday night at 10:00 PM.
