They never disappointed me. The price quotes were very very good. Services were done right. I recently moved far away from Garland (tough I still work in Richardson). So, I don't go to Top Auto often recently. But, I will go there again for some big repair jobs definitely, though I will have to drive over an hour. One more thing: They are very honest. They never cheat. For an old vehicle, they recommend not to spend money for minor issues. For instance, they never recommended to replace shock absorbers of my 18 years old MDX, while the dealer was pushing for it; the dealer price was even twice or 3 times higher than the used MDX trade-in price!!! Started working with Darren several years ago. The quality of his work is always excellent, but…read moreover the past year and a half or so he has become utterly unresponsive and unreliable. I would not work with him ever again. Everything was fine at first. I'd text him, set up a time, he'd stop by and wash my vehicles, and then I paid him, usually with a good tip. Things went south after I switched over to the pre-paid plan where you pay $500 for a package of 10 washes. One time, during the COVID shutdown last year, I still had several washes remaining in one of the packages I bought. Nevertheless, I bought another $500 package just to help him out because I knew business was slow for him. But he just didn't seem to value the gesture or the long-standing business relationship. No exaggerating, there were times when I'd text him up to eight (yes, 8) times in a row over the course of a few months and get no response. No one reasonably expects him to be "on demand." He has other customers and priorities. No problem there. But to just take hundreds of dollars of your money and just not respond after you reach out to him again and again to set up an appointment is bad customer service and completely unacceptable. Basically, it seemed like once he had my money in advance, and then had to do the work later, he had no incentive to show up, and it just got worse and worse as time went on. A couple of weeks ago I told him I was tired of chasing him all the time and said I wanted a refund of the remaining washes. Even though I had three left worth $150, I told him to just give me back $100. The aggravation of dealing with him wasn't worth the money anymore. He said he'd leave the $100 under my doormat in a couple of days, but he never did. True to form, I followed up again and again and received no response. From now on I'll be taking my vehicles to the carwash place by my house. They do just as good of a job in one-fifth the amount of time and for less than half the cost, AND I don't have to increase my stress levels by dealing with bad customer service and unresponsiveness. Again, Darren always does a great job, if you can get him to show up.
