Visiting Vancouver for a couple of days. Decided to try out the breakfast food here. It's right on the water and has a terrific view of the mountains. There are tall floor to ceiling windows facing the water so you get plenty of natural light. We were a party of 6, and they placed us at a hightop table that has a bench on one side, and taller stools on the other. It was a little awkward for most people. Those on the bench, were not able to place their feet on floor, and those of us on the stools, did not find them comfortable. Got served right away with waters and menu. The hot teas and coffees came out soon after. They have a large selection of their specialty Pannekoeken. They very from simple cakes to skillet versions. You can roll them up, or eat them like a regular flat cake. They are large and cost $19 - $26 dollar. You can get a half size but the prices is only $3 less. My partner and I ended getting banana/walnut version. It was good, but not great. A little too thin for my liking. The pieces of walnuts and banansa were protruding out the top. (but that's how they are supposed to be). Service was excellent. Super friendly and attentive. I felt it was a bit pricey for the amount of food you got. Probably not a place that we would likely come back to.

We stopped here for breakfast after watching the water planes take off and land. The decor and atmosphere is so cute and all of the employees were very nice. They had gluten free options for pancakes!! The fresh squeezed OJ was also amazing. Very filling meal.

Belly is stuffed and absolutely packed with dutch pancake goodness. Burgers for breakfast? Who can say no!

I ought to have ordered the Dutch pancakes. Mocha was delicious and so were the potatoes and the view. Great service

I'm shocked to see so many low reviews for this place. I thought it was unique and although pricey, it was good and the presentation was impressive. We enjoyed our breakfast when we visited back in July '25 and our service was top notch. I see many complaints about slow service but that wasn't our experience. The wait for a table was long but that's expected for good breakfast places but once we got the table we didn't feel like we waited too long to be served. It did take a while for the food to arrive after our order but I can understand that based on the presentation. Food was delicious and the fresh squeezed juice was great. No complaints from me.

Those who know me well know I have a serious sweet tooth! Once in a while, I treat myself to a heartfelt Dutch pancake purely for indulgence. Having lived in Amsterdam for nearly nine years, I'm quite familiar with traditional pannenkoeken -- which are a far cry from the thick, round, syrup-drenched pancakes so popular in North America. (No wonder obesity rates are what they are over there!) Thankfully, the pancakes at De Dutch stay true to the authentic Dutch style. After the closure of their West 2nd and Cambie location a couple of years ago, only two branches remain in Vancouver. I now visit the Coal Harbour spot, which happens to be conveniently close to home. I've tried almost all of their classics -- Peach Melba and Triberries have long been my favourites. But today, I decided to try something new: the Caramel Apple & Whipped Cream pancake. Be aware that the prices on their website aren't up to date -- mine came to $21.29. I left $25 cash on the table, and honestly, it was worth every penny. No extra syrup needed -- the pancake was perfectly sweet on its own. This location closes early in the afternoon, so be sure to check their hours before you go. On a sunny day, I love sitting outside -- there's nothing better than enjoying a delicious pancake while watching the world go by, with a gentle sea breeze in the air. Life is sweet. Especially with pancakes. Final Verdict: (5/5)

Fun breakfast spot... plan to have a wait for a table. And slow service. We enjoyed our food, just hadn't expected to sirens so much time waiting for our order to be raven and our meal to arrive.

Delicious breakfast, wonderful ambiance sitting outside overlooking the water and excellent service! A bit pricey but worth it! Very unique Dutch pancake breakfasts and hash brown bowls.

A very cute brunch place with your girlfriends. I usually get their hash pannekeok and freshly squeezed orange juice. The pancakes are so filling and big so you can definitely share this with a friend. The food comes out quickly and service is an A+!

On the water No wait clean restaurant and great view. Very large menu more for breakfast than lunch. Service molasses runs faster and yet we were the only two in the restaurant. I ordered a burger which was grilled to no flavor only took 30 minutes to make. To make it moist that added enough mayo to make a tuna salad. Fries were not crisp. My wife had The Hash served on top of a pancake the pancake was good the has could use work. Come for the view not for the food

One thing I love about being in the west coast is that I get to enjoy breakfast. It's something that I don't really eat a lot because of my Intermittent Fast Fast. So I pull up the app on my Samsung and found this spot not too far from my hotel. Scenic walk towards the water and I have arrived. I ordered the Boer Pancake Breakfast option. 3 meats, potatoes and two sunny side up eggs. Beautiful presentation. Seasoned perfectly and I had a great time smashing. I love a good breakfast and would recommend it to someone who's wanting something substantial. The place isn't too hard to find. Setting is very nice and open and the host was very welcoming. The service was sort of laggy. The table right next to me got to order first even though I was seated before them. My food arrived and I had to tell the runner that I was still waiting for my fizzy water. Other than that everything was good to go. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

This was our first time dining at the Vancouver Convention Centre location of De Dutch but I think it might be my favourite location now, so I sure hope that it won't be our last time dining there! In all honesty, the food is just as good at any other location of De Dutch but I just love the picturesque setting of this one. With its huge windows overlooking the harbor...How could it not be my favourite? My two meat eaters both decided to go for hamburgers. One had hamburger with fries, and the other had hamburger with hashbrowns. I was the only one who ordered the food that De Dutch is actually known for, which is their Dutch Pannekoek. I ordered the Vegetarian Pannekoek. In the past I've ordered this same Pannekoek with a sunny side up egg on top but I've been trying to cut back on eggs for awhile now, so I just ordered it as it was on the menu. Mmmmm...so yummy and satisfying, and even though I do love the taste of a sunny side up egg, I really didn't miss the egg at all. The Pannekoek held up very well on its own. If you havn't tried a Pannekoek yet, this is a great place to try one!  Service: Good Parking:  Paid Location: #60 -1055 Canada Place, Vancouver

Service was good, friendly. The restaurant is the same as I recall, clean enough. A little cramped and the seating isnt too comfortable. Its really not a good place to hang out for a long time, but rather sit down, eat, and get out type of place. I had the lavender latte and the Tagine this time. Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. If you have to park, then you may find street metered parking or use one of the nearby paid lots.

I chose to sit outside on the patio instead of inside at the bar to take in that Canadian Vitamin D! It was sunny and hot, but the patio had a great view and was perfect for people-watching. My server, Dursh (or something close to that), was really cool. He asked my name, made me feel welcomed, and gave solid recommendations. He even picked my drink for me, which I ended up enjoying. He suggested a Benedict dish, but I'm not a fan of runny eggs. I had already decided on the El Camino poutine and plot twist....it also came with two runny poached eggs. Even so, it was still delicious, mainly because the yolk texture wasn't an issue with the crema on the dish. That poutine was an easy 9/10. It came loaded with cheese curds, pork carnitas that weren't dry at all, bacon, pinto beans, roasted pineapple for a little sweetness, salsa, jalapeños, pickled onions, salsa verde, cilantro crema, and spinach. The herb potatoes were seasoned so well too. All in all, a great last meal in Vancouver from the food to the service (even beyond Dursh, everyone was helpful) to the patio vibe. Great spot.

I was meeting a friend here yesterday who's visiting from California, and when deciding on a meeting place, we realized a bunch of the Gastown coffee roaster places were closed on Sunday, so I mentioned Breka , knowing it was opened 24/7. (LOVE this!). Plus, this site is close to Waterfront Station, and my friend had a busy day planned, taking the Seabus to N.Van and doing a lot of sightseeing. So this Breka was perfect. I was there early at 10 am-ish, and from the outset, I was impressed: exposed brick wall, long counter and display case, fully stocked with the most beautiful pastries and tarts and cakes, and lovely looking sandwiches, too....Just lovely. I ordered a tea from the guy taking the orders. At the check-out, the woman working the cashier was the most unfriendly, aloof person I have ever encountered at a Breka. She was downright dour. Never looked up, never smiled, said I owed X for the tea I ordered, gave me a receipt and said I was "number 3", no "thank you" (despite my saying thanks!), nothing. She looked really unhappy and bothered to be there. (I sat at a nearby table, waiting for my number to be called. I saw her interactions with all the people behind me - and there were quite a few, as it got suddenly busy in the cafe. She was cold and unfriendly to everyone in line as she rang them all up. These are mostly tourists! Why have a dour, borderline-hostile woman at the check-out counter of a busy cafe in a touristy part of our city? I just don't get it). Anyhow, I waited 10 minutes to hear my number called, but I never heard it. I walked up to the take-out area and there was my tea, on a receipt that said "number 3". Did they call out my number? I honestly don't know. I was seated at a table a few feet from the area and listening for my number and I didn't hear it called. I was not impressed with this set-up. Not at all. My friend arrived and got a chocolate concoction which looked amazing, and he loved it, so there's that. I still love Brekas but I probably won't return to this site. Between the cold experience at the cash and the prolonged waiting for my order (a cup of tea!), and not being sure if my order number was ever called, it just all left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

We were having gorgeous weather in Vancouver so we decided to eat on the covered patio. The place is pretty cozy, but was only moderately busy when we went. They have a pretty good menu with lots a Benedict's and a build your own breakfast option that seemed pretty nice. I took the recommendation from our server and got the bacon benny. It did not disappoint. I think I have recently discovered that I love poached eggs and these were perfect. The yolk was nice and runny and the white was firm but not hard. I like to cut in to my egg and have it run down and get messy on the plate. The hollandaise was excellent. So many breakfast places will serve it broken, but not here. It had the perfect amount of lemon, butter ratio for my taste and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was good, not to salty, and the english muffin was, well, an English muffin from a package that they toasted and out on the plate. I did splurge and paid the extra dollar for the truffle potatoes and they were very good. I love truffle oil on potatoes so I am a sucker for it whenever its on a menu. You just cant mess it up. Fried potatoes, truffle oil, and a lemon squeeze to bring it all together. My wife got the brunch burger and she loved it. It was a messy breakfast burger that a lot of places have but this one was done right. A poached oozy egg, on a burger patty with american cheese, the best burger cheese in my opinion, bacon, hollandaise and arugula on a brioche bun! It came with tater tots and they were nice and crispy just like she likes them. Well, why didn't I give it five stars you may be asking? Great question. Here it is, each plate came with a side that was just awful. Mine had some "fresh" fruit that nearly made me laugh. It consisted of the saddest, limpest piece of watermelon I have ever seen this side of a trash can. I also had an old crusty orange wedge and a single grape. My wife got a slimy side salad that I think was holding on for dear life. Both, we deemed inedible and moved on immediately. I think there is a rule, or at least there should be one, in restaurants that if you wouldn't eat it then don't serve it. There might be another one that says if you eat rotten food maybe get a different job and see rule one. Overall, we liked the place and would go back. We would just avoid the salads and fresh fruit and stick to the food they cook.

But first, the food - I ordered scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage and paid an extra $1 for truffled lemon potatoes. The verdict? 4 out of 5. I'd ordered the eggs "very soft" and they verged on medium-firm. They still tasted good. I'll gladly pay extra for the truffled potatoes next time. My husband ordered the salmon avocado benny. While he loved the tomato soup he chose on the side, he was less enamoured by the benny itself. I had a taste and was underwhelmed by a forkful of overripe avocado and slightly fishy-tasting salmon. We finished with an order of beignets which despite being freshly-fried, were bland; although the accompanying strawberry sauce was deliciously tangy-sweet. Onto the service. This place spins like a top, and I mean that in a good way. Although we came at a peak time, all front of the house staff we encountered -- from the hostess to our bubbly server, to the smooth manager -- struck a perfect balance of being in flow, working flawlessly together, and maintaining light conversation with us. Exemplary. 5 stars out of 5.
