After a day of hiking and chores around the house we decided to check out De La Nona at the newish Marina Hotel in town. The restaurant has a huge deck with wonderful views of the lake and the marina and had a lot of staff running around making sure the drinks are filled and food comes fast. We decided to split a chopped salad and a pepperoni pizza. The salad was super tasty and surprisingly large. More than enough for two people. It had beans, pepperoni, peppers, and a delicious vinaigrette. The pizza was doughy with a good crisp. It was a good size for two to share after the salad. It's probably the amount of pizza you should eat yourself hahaha. The view was great and the staff was friendly. We didn't get drinks this time around because we had a long day but they had a great drink and wine selection. The bartenders were super friendly as well. We'll be back. read more

It was a toss up between Village Pizza and De La Nonnas and am I glad we chose this place. Our waitress Tera was super accommodating and was great to have met. Everyone here had good vibes and everyone agreed that this was some of the best pizza they have ever had. That is saying a lot. Will def come back one day...thank you for being pet friendly. I absolutely love this place! We went around 7:30pm, just before the sunset and the views were sooo beautiful! We got the big fire pit right when you walk in. The service was great! The servers were fast, efficient, and friendly. Do not order the espresso martini. It's not good. The eggplant dip also didn't taste like eggplant at all. That was disappointing. BUT the pizzas were sooooo good! We ordered all of them! We loved it all! We loved the bread, especially when they're freshly out of the oven. Another complained was, when we were trying to call to make a reservation, no one answered the calls. We were trying for about 30 mins. The service was delightful, Denise was so kind and attentive! It was our first time here and she gave us a whole run down on the menu which helped a lot with ordering for our party. These plates were more than enough for 5 people. The burrata was so refreshing and the veggies served with it was the perfect combination, the focaccia they used was also perfection, it was so soft and crunchy w/ the perfect amount of buttery goodness. The pizzas were so delicious as well, their bread is just phenomenal. If you like spicy then def go with the nonna way for your pizza. I don't know what is going on with other people's bad experiences with food... We have been here for FOUR days and have visited De La Nonna THREE times. The patio has a beautiful view of the lake, with an awning and umbrellas to shade you from the sun. The dining room is equally as quaint. Our first visit was for breakfast. The breakfast sandwich was unsuspectingly delicious. Spinach cooked perfectly, cheesy egg, dang. The fried eggplant sandwich is where it's at, perfectly balanced. Calabrian aioli, fresh basil, dressed cucumbers and fennel.. we had it twice. Cocktails are just as great. Their restroom is beautiful, clean, and stocked with Aesop soap & lotion. I appreciate that they're not refilled with generic garbage. We've been visiting for Big Bear for years. This is the most consistent and delicious food in Big Bear by far. Run don't walk. We visited on a regular Saturday, and although it was quite busy, they seated us very quickly, which was great. However, the service felt a bit overwhelming--there were too many staff checking on us constantly. At one point, after we had just received and finished our appetizer, two different waiters came by asking if we were ready to check out, and I had to explain that we hadn't even had our main course yet. Another downside was that they use paper plates, which didn't match the overall dining experience. It would be nice to have proper plates, especially for a sit-down meal. Found De La Nonna on Yelp (of course!) because we were looking for a place that had happy hour or at least good cocktails. I didn't realize it was connected to a hotel, but the signage at the front of the building made it easy to find. There was a large parking lot at the front of the hotel, which sits right at the lake. It was early evening so there was plenty of light and not very cold yet. The hostess seated us outside where there were many picnic type tables, lounge seating around a fire pit and these cute igloo tents that had various types of chairs/couches inside. There were 2 of us and we got seated at one of the igloos and that was so fun! The view is a little obstructed due to the vinyl but its pretty clear and you don't get as cold. We were helped by at least 4 of their team members - a nice warm welcome from everyone. They really excel at customer service here. We were given a bottle of water and two pretty glasses once we sat down and our server came over to explain the options. The drinks are great and they have actual fresh squeezed grapefruit juice - score!!! We had a margarita and a paloma and both were so tasty and just strong enough. The lake is so beautiful this time of year. De La Nonna is awesome in terms of views and service and drinks. We will definitely be back to try some food! read more

Memorial Day weekend 2026 for an early lunch around 11:30am. First off, the views, vibe, and atmosphere were excellent. The service was slow and not particularly friendly. Not unfriendly just average. We had to ask for soda refills. We shared the fingerling potatoes and the Italian hero sandwich. The potatoes were basically smashed and sprinkled with Parmesan and dumped into a plain white bowl. Weird presentation for the price. The sandwich was ok. Nothing bad to say just ok. great views, small-ish menu, expensive! you cannot beat the views at de la nonna! especially out on the deck. we loved being able to see the lake while enjoying our lunch. we ended up sitting inside because the sun was so strong. i think since most of the other patrons were sitting outside, service was incredibly slow inside. while everything tasted really good, it was really expensive (and i live in LA where everything is super pricey). we wished there were some more pizza options (toppings) and we're hoping for something with a little more protein! read more

My husband got the white pizza since he was meat free that night and it was fabulous (even for a carnivore like me) the fennel fronds on top were a great addition to the cooked fennel, potato and pesto, highly recommend! Fingerling potatoes were simple and delicious, would have loved some kind of dipping sauce, even if that pizza sauce. The chopped salad was heavily dressed but perfect alongside the thick crust pizza. Most of an accompaniment than a pre salad course. The best was the whipped eggplant. I maybe partial since I have several in my garden and excited to try to replicate but the light consistency achieved on this was amazing! Not too spicy and perfect with the homemade focaccia. Our first night in Big Bear we checked into Hotel Marina Riviera and walked downstairs for dinner. That's where De La Nonna is located. It's a focaccia-style pizza restaurant that originally started in LA's Arts District. The Big Bear location sits inside the hotel overlooking the lake. My boyfriend and I ordered the Nonna pack with the pepperoni pizza, the white pizza, and a Caesar salad. The pizzas come in thick square slices with crispy edges. The pepperoni pizza was warm and cheesy with tomato sauce, and the white pizza had potato, fennel, and mozzarella layered together. Both were really delicious. The dining room was busy with very high ceilings and booth seating along the walls. Many tables were sharing pizzas and drinks from the bar. Our server Kyndal was very kind and funny. She checked on our table often making sure we were comfortable and happy. The next morning we returned for breakfast and sat in one of the heated igloos on the patio balcony overlooking the lake. They have blankets and the clear domes have heaters inside so it stays very warm even in the cold. We had coffee at the table while looking out at the mountains and the water below. There are stairs from the patio if you want to walk closer to the lake. Dinner the first night and breakfast the next morning in the igloos made the stay feel really special. Food: I ordered the pepperoni pizza & added hot honey for extra charge. The pizza is made with focaccia bread. Honestly.. it was too much bread for me. The pizza comes in a rectangle and cut to 4 pieces. After eating 1.5 slices I was stuffed. Taste wise, it was ok. It lacked flavor, for my liking. And also it was on the soggy side. I ended up taking it to-go and put it in the air fryer at my cabin and it was way better. But regardless, I would never order this again or recommend it. Service: really great. My server was very attentive and checked on me several times. I can't complain. Ambience: the best thing about this place. The view is unmatched. Maybe the best view seating in Big Bear. It faces the lake directly and it's pretty close. There's 2 igloo like things outside with a table inside. It looked cool and unique. I was by myself so I chose to sit at the bar top facing the lake, but if I came again with friends I'd try the igloo seating. There's also fireplace seating. Their whole outside patio area is a vibe. Limited foccacia based menu. In my personal opinion, the price point is far too high at $20+ for foccacia topped with sauce and cheese, which there wasn't nearly enough of. You also get two slices for that price, which feels a little crazy. All items are served with paper plates and plastic utensils. So I've been here three days in a row now because it's such a great spot! Food is excellent! Boat dock is a nice new one and easy access. The food itself was amazing, but the service really missed the mark. My significant other and I came here for a date night and ordered happy hour drinks, a marg pizza, and a chopped salad. The drinks came out quickly, which was great. However, when it came to the food, it was clear the servers were not supporting the kitchen. We repeatedly heard the kitchen staff ringing their bell and calling out for help, but no servers came to assist. Our server greeted us promptly, but disappeared after taking our order. Eventually, the kitchen staff had to bring our food themselves after asking multiple times for server help with no response. They even checked on us afterward and cleared our table once we finished our pizza. The pizza itself was delicious - thick, fluffy focaccia bread and full of flavor. Unfortunately, it seemed like our server never put in the chopped salad we ordered. After finishing our pizza and drinks and waiting for our server to return (once our table had already been cleared), we decided we no longer wanted the salad. We closed our tab and left to grab food elsewhere. Great food, but the lack of attentive service really took away from the experience. I must add that the kitchen was very attentive and kind! I will be trying this place again for the sake of location and seeing the view of the lake during the day, but I hope service improves (aside from the hosts and kitchen staff). read more

This is an extremely cool place to go to in Big Bear. The venue is awesome, so many places to hang out and the outdoor deck is epic. Those bubble pods are a blast and we were there during that last big snow storm. We were warm and it was fun to have dinner outside, overlooking the lake. Food there is delicious. My only gripe is the pizzas are so small. And the menu selection was a little limited. Also, it is headed toward fancy and upscale, but they use paper plates and plastic cutlery. Please note the local beers on tap were all excellent. I spoke with many of the staff and they are building out the deck with even more features. Cannot wait to see where they go with it. Parking for us was difficult. Not sure how they are going to fix that as people are going to continue coming here. We had to create our own parking space, as did many others. If the snow was not in such an abundance maybe it would be a better situation. And on a positive note, it's one of the most unique spots in Big Bear for dining and drinks, and we will go there every time we climb that mountain. LOCATION. LOCATION. LOCATION. This is a PRIME location for some pizza and beer. De La Nonna overlooks the lake which looks and feel STUNNING. You can walk downstairs and get closer on the lounge chairs or even sit near the fire pit and enjoy the view. The service here is excellent as everyone working here seemed like they loved their jobs and was super friendly. One negative is that there are a lot of gnats on the patio seating, which can be annoying - just an FYI. I am not a beer person but my husband is. Upon sipping his beer he mentioned that it was crisp and excellent. The pizza is obviously the star of the place. I would describe it as a focaccia style bread with sauce, cheese, and your choice or toppings. I got the MARG pizza and opted to make it Nonna style. Upon arriving I thought it seemed a little small but it was definitely so filling. This pizza is so crunchy as you bite it but so soft as soon as you chew it. The texture is truly what won me over and what I think about till this day. My husband had the pepperoni and he loved the style and taste of pepperoni - he said it was crispy and crunchy. We were going to get dessert but were so full from our meal that we didn't. I did think the price for the pizza was a little much but it probably wouldn't deter me from coming back. read more

De la Nonna has some magic when it comes to giving you an experience. Let's just start with a few things... pet friendly, igloos, heat lamps, beauty setting, open space and a simple effective menu. Jennie and Kendal were the two that made sure we had everything we needed tonight and they were so amazing. We luckily got an igloo and it was just perfect. We had our dogs and it was perfect to have them off leash and just enjoying the space . Of course make sure your dog is well Behaved and your golden. Food was delicious... get your pizzas nonna style all day every day!!! To got the pepperoni pizza with the spicy honey and ranch and it was pretty's good. I got their Hot toddy and I was just happy they got the memo that hot camp like alcoholic drinks were the way to go!!! Spiked hot cider and hot chocolate... the margarita pizza was also very delicious. I would say get something going with mushrooms and I'll take that too!!! Lastly the Tiramisu... was perfect. It actually reminded me and my wife of when we went to Italy and took. Cooking class and made homemade tiramisu. It was equally delicious!!!! Overall you're doing it right.. some of the restaurants in big bear surprisingly don't have heat lamps. Absolutely loved this place! Highly recommend if you're visiting Big Bear! I visited here for the first time while in Big Bear and it was the best experience. The location is absolutely beautiful and the views were perfect during sunset. My group was seated outside in one of the igloos and it was such a great intimate experience. The service was absolutely incredible. Not only were they quick with finding seating for our large group but they made this experience top tier. Our server was very quick, and checked on us often. They cleared the tables of an empty plates promptly and were overall such kind people to interact with. On top of this, the food was truly delicious. It may sound cliché, but this experience was the true definition of a hidden gem. In our last night in Big Bear, we wanted to eat out. A quick search and we found De La Nonna which is located next to a hotel. When calling ahead, the hostess was very kind and helpful with what seemed like limited indoor seating. She happily explained that they ever accepting walk in parties of four and that it would be ok to bring our dog with us. When we arrived, we were greeted by such gracious hospitality and a really magical setting...outdoor lighted igloos. Warm and cozy with Christmas music playing in a unique private space. Service was fantastic. Food was delicious. We have not been this impressed in quite some time. What a find and hidden gem! We are so glad this spot opened up! The deck was unbelievable with an amazing view of the lake and the inside was very classy.
