Such a cute spot that we wanted to love! Kind employees but just getting us seated was a challenge. They had no system for seating, plenty of open tables and they had us awkwardly waiting around as 2 separate employees had to go ask someone else where we could sit. We had our kiddo with us and needed an actual table, which we told them. They kept asking if we wanted to sit at spots not at a dining table, we did not. They sat another party that arrived after us before us - because it was a different employee at the host stand and they had no system and didn't know we were waiting. The staff was kind, but food was nasty, cold, and very overpriced. Drinks were $18. Wanted to love this place but sadly we won't be back. I also got really ill after eating thier slimy chicken. My wife and I were in the Village yesterday and wanted to try something new. Cowboys Wandering is fairly new I believe but was an excellent choice. Even on a dead Tuesday afternoon in the Village, CW was still pretty busy. There probably were 5-6 families inside and a couple on the patio as well. Decor is cool, old west mixed with some modern touches. The table are amazing, live edge wood topped with iron bases. Very cool! Staff was friendly and fast. Drinks were never empty and the food came out quick. Food was great, especially the fries! Loved those! The taxes toast on my chicken sandwich was perfectly toasted and crispy and the bbq sauce was just the right amount of sweetness. My plate was empty!! The food was ok. The ambiance was pretty fun and service was friendly but not most observant for refills and wanting to order something to go. We came here after looking at the pictures and reading good reviews but it fell short. Cheese curds and fresh fries were the best part. We got the s'more cookie after being told that was what was in the picture but what we received looked like a burned, bloody ( strawberry sauce), hockey puck with three marshmallows melted on top. Our first time visiting Cowboys Wandering and I want to start with the service. Christian was AMAZING. Greeted us warmly and got us seated. Very attentive throughout our meal. The food: We shared the wedge salad which was amazing, I got the smash burger and my husband got the Sloppy Joe. Food overall was good. I've seen people complain about the small menu, but it makes sense when you're starting off to have a menu that is manageable and expand down the road as your business expands. I also liked to read about the story of the owners that was on the menu. Gives it a personal feel. Here are some things I think could be improved upon. The food is served on paper plates with plastic utensils. From a sustainability standpoint, this is a huge waste. Also, for the prices that people are paying it feels more appropriate to have glass plates and flatware. There's a large container on the table with napkins, the plastic utensils, ketchup, and I think salt and pepper, it just takes up too much space. The cowhide rug in the bar was curling up and seems like a major tripping hazard that could easily be remedied with double-sided tape. I forgot to mention the cocktails. Those were really good. If you go, ask for Christian (who will have a great career in hospitality in BB). I'd like to try breakfast next time we visit. Wish them the best of luck. read more

Just popped in real quick for a drink, wanted to check out this new establishment in the big Bear Village. I like the cowboy theme and the cool comfy seats around the bar. The place is unusual in that there really wasn't an inside . There were three huge garage doors spanning the length of the building, opening outside in, Ok I'm not a food snob, and there are some things, that was good, their menu, is very limited, I found that a big negative.. they make a good burger, fries are great. We did get the ribs too. Tasty, but very fatty. We got potato skin appetizer, they weren't potato skins.they were wedges, they did taste ok but not skins. Different experience. Texture. Why not just call them wedges, it is deceiving, I wanted I settled on the blt. But the only bread was Texas toast. Which I'm not fond of.. no sourdough, no white, so I settled on the burger.. which as I said wás enjoyable.. let me say service was great. read more

Dan is an individual with entrepreneurial spirit and that is clear. The team working under him is fantastic. I've been in the Brand management and marketing side of things for a great many years and I will tell you that it did not take much for me to offer our service services. Derek is always a person that is there to meet your standards and exceed them. Bridget has a personality that is so incredibly captivating and friendly that you feel like she's part of the family. The potatoes were dehydrated and the owner tells me I must be used to frozen potatoes because their potatoes are cut fresh every morning . Wrong!
