I've been going to De Paris Nail Spa for about 6 months now. I used to have my other spots in Fremont that I would go to, however, upon moving away and then back to Fremont, I found De Paris Nail Spa. After my first visit, I decided this was going to be my new go-to spot. Upon walking in, I already noticed a relaxing environment. Unlike many other Asian nail salons, the place is quite peaceful without all of the nail techs yelling in an Asian language talking to each other all day. All of the ladies here are very nice and all are great at what they do - I don't like it when I find a nail salon and the expertise of the nail techs are all over the place - one lady may do a great job and another a poor job. I also love that they incorporate a more American hospitality approach with the offering of beverages (water, tea, soda, MIMOSAS!) and candies. I also love that they have Friends on at all times of day. It may become repetitve if clients are not a fan, but this is still my favorite TV show of all time. I definitely recommend this nail salon over others if you are in the Fremont area. read more

I loved that I didn't have to wait and they were able to take me right away. They had an impressive little mini bar which I think is the highlight of the nail salon! Super cute. I think they are super pricey, my fault for not checking out the menu before going but gosh darn! I paid an extra $5 for a lavender pedicure which they pitched to me but didn't tell me they ran out and used "something better" $35 Pedicure + $35 Shellac Manicure. Can't help feeling gutted because I really didn't think it was worth a whooping $70 plus tip, total of $80 Not to mention that when I left I had white debris from the acrylics all over my purse and clothes. Overall, I think it's too pricey if you just want a mani and pedi, plenty of places that offer same service for less. read more

First experience sitting in power reclining chairs with footrests, however they are old and dirty. Makes me feel bad when I'm new and I don't even get offered a water, and yet the next regular comes in and gets offered mimosa or wine. read more

This is a decent salon for the area, but I did not walk out with a perfect set of nails (as you can see in my photo: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/de-paris-nail-spa-newark?select=PmX0KlN7pjY2ACQWZj28DQ#PmX0KlN7pjY2ACQWZj28DQ) and I had a couple of mild causes for pause that knocked a couple stars off.. I made an appointment for a regular manicure, eyebrow wax and minty pedicure. I first had my eyebrows done (I think by Kim) and she immediately adamantly suggested I also do my upper lip which I thought was a bit rude but I let her do it anyhow. I do not wax my lip but whatever, I wasn't in the mood to say otherwise after being accused of having a 'stache by a stranger. My eyebrows turned out alright (nowhere near the best I've ever seen but average) and she was quite rough on the lip waxing, but I survived. Before you write that off as dramatic, I'll note that I've waxed various areas for pretty much my entire adult life so I know how these things should look and feel. Then I went to get my nails done. I forget the name of the technician but she was professional aside from getting up to answer a personal call at one point. I didn't care for the fact that they do not have a proper pedicure station. You are sitting in a recliner sofa - which IS comfortable, but not a pedicure chair - and then you put your foot in a metal mixing bowl. It does the job to a small degree, but I feel a proper pedicure station is much more efficient and thorough... not to mention comfortable for the client, warm and hygienic. Afterwards, you have to do a bit of a contortionist act to finish the pedicure. They have you lift your legs awkwardly onto a propped up footrest, which for some women could be painful or unrealistic I imagine. Investing in real stations would be better, for any nail salon. Moving on -- she did a decent job with the pedicure. This particular variety (the "minty" pedicure, it's an upgrade) comes with a few nice perks, including a paraffin wax. At the end after I was sitting there with my feet in bags of wax she asks where my nail color is and realizes no one had asked me this obvious question. They keep the color far, far away from the chairs so it's pretty impossible to just reach out and grab something or even eyeball it. I had to try to tell her what to pick and that didn't work out very well either. Once we finally sorted a color and it was applied she asked if I wanted nail art, I let her have at it. This technician only does flowers it seems (I prefer fun things, not so much flowers - but anything is better than nothing). It turned out pretty so I was happy enough. While she was putting on my sandals, she did something really odd and kept the spacers they put between your toes on my feet at the same time.. and then rammed my foot into the sandals. My right one came out with a smudged toe but I didn't notice it til I got miles away. I don't know if she happened to see or not. I'm not going to be in town long enough for it to be worth hassling her to fix it, so it's kind of annoying. As for my manicure -- same deal with her forgetting to ask about the color, obviously. She picked a color I really didn't like on this one. I asked for purple on both and for the toes, she picked an acceptable shade that was similar to one I asked for. There were obvious communication issues and she wasn't very interested in trying to bridge the gap if you get my drift. On the fingers she went for something WAY too light. It came out even lighter once applied than it appeared on the bottle and it looks like I'm not wearing any polish at all. When I got home I could see that there are large spots where only one coat was thoroughly applied on a few fingers and it looks like there is literally zero polish coverage. She also never once asked me if I liked it :-/ It was a bummer. It's also worth noting that my manicure did not come with any kind of lotion or massage, even though it said it should on the website. Either I read that wrong or she just forgot. It was just a quick polish change basically. Nothing else. Oh, and they do not have any dryers for regular mani-pedi clients. Only gels and fake nails. Otherwise, they have little things here to entice you like iPads on the pedicure "stations", a big screen tv that plays Friends re-runs or music videos, little candies on trays that I chose to ignore and I saw some of the ladies drinking bottled water. I didn't notice any of the free booze being offered that everyone is talking about, nor was I offered any. I am guessing that is not free. Also, tips have to be paid in cash. All in all, moderate prices, average cleanliness, so-so skill level, so-so customer service, they could use a few upgrades and they have some nice things there to entertain you and distract from the obvious lack of pedicure stations. read more

I love this place. End of story. I've been to a couple of nail salons in the area and I think I've found a winner. Not only is this place clean, but the service is amazing. Everyone takes their time with you to make sure you get exactly what you want. I know because lord knows how many times I change my mind about what color I want. But! With all my indecisiveness, each time I've come here, everyone has treated me incredibly well. Vi and Ngan are so nice! I've gotten my nails done by them the last few times I was here and each time it has turned out great. I had a French Shellac manicure the last two times I saw Ngan and she was super diligent about the thickness of the French tip. They understand that some people can be picky (like me) about their French tip and she made sure it was exactly what I wanted. But tonight, I was able to see Kim for my appointment. I, like a fool, called in super last minute but they had an open spot and took me. I can't tell you how accommodating they are! But you should definitely make an appointment. I read a lot of reviews about this place because I was used to an average nail experience. I wanted stilleto nails since I was going to Vegas so I decided to wait for a couple days before I left. I made an appointment through the phone, I probably called 10 times over two days with no answer and was pretty annoyed, more on this later. Arrived for my appointment and chose my colors. The nail tech stood and watched me pick colors so I felt a little rushed and chose a coral/orange toned CND nail polish that I never heard of and gold for an accent nail. I told her I wanted stilleto nails but since I never got them before I didn't know what to expect. I reminded her a couple of times because I didn't want normal nails at the end and for her to be like "why didn't you tell me earlier" because that is just my luck. Anyways, my nail tech which I didn't get her name, spent a good 5 minutes on each nail to shape them and asked me a couple times to make sure I liked the shape. I watched Friends and got a bottle of water while I was there. The shop was smaller than I expected but everything was beyond my expectations. Back to the phone business, I heard the phone ring many times while I was there but no one would answer if they were busy with a client. I realize that is appreciated when you are getting worked on but very hard to make an appointment. Someone told my nail tech that someone was coming in for her in Vietnamese which they didn't know I speak and she said that she'd be done in maybe 15 and didn't rush at all. My nails came out perfect. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because my thumbs are shorter than the rest of my nails but I guess it makes it easier to text. And because my nails have grown out really quickly but a fill is only 18$ I believe. My nails were 25$ with 5$ extra for gel coat. They have built in UV hand dryers buit into the nail station which is cool as well. I was expecting to pay at least 40 for my nails, very impressed. Pro: Plenty of OPI colors. LOTS of color selections, magnetic polish, etc. I don't get designs, but I've seen people walk out with some super pretty designs. I love the reclining chair experience, way more comfy than those massage chairs that randomly don't work. They offer complimentary water/mimosa with candies. The coolest part is each chair has an ipad for your entertainment! Con: For those that drink alcohol, it would be nice to have a spritzer or some other option other than water...I wanna feel fancy too! If you are a walk-in, you can wait a long time...get an appointment! You have to pay extra for callus remover treatment which would be okay if the prices weren't high already...usually at the price they charge for a regular pedi, callus remover comes with the treatment. Also, they don't spend a lot of time scrubbing with the pumice...so if you're feet need WORK, you may not want to go here. Interesting notes: They use big pretty bowls to soak..which is way more hygienic than those bacteria pools used at other places. The owner is very friendly. read more

The service is amazing & they serve mimosas while you get your mani/pedis! ;) I came here to get my nails done for my wedding & they did not disappoint. I had the pleasure of having Kim (the owner) do my nails, and she was so attentive and made sure everything was to my liking. She even stayed after closing hours to finish and make sure it came out beautiful. Yen is also another worker who is amazing at what she does. I like it sanitary Specialist - really polite and gentle, even if they don't speak fluent English Foot massages - not deep tissue, which is the way I like it. A few good presses in several pressure points are just right for me Foot water spa with rose aroma - nice and hot, the way I like it Scrubs of dead skin - alittle ticklish for me in certain area (almost giggled out loud), but the specialist was attentive enough to ease up on what she was doing Warm lotion with healing stones - this feels wonderful, but can also be ticklish, when she rotates those healing stones under your arches Pedi wax - wow! Been wanting one for the longest time to get rid of the dead skins around my heels. Nice and hot, just as I like them. After removing the wax, my skin felt nice and supple! Nail coloring - the specialist is really patient, since I don't have a lot of nails to work with, yet I wanted two colors (let's just say, not your traditional color combination). Where do I start, I started going here a little before the holidays 2012...found this place on Yelp and just came across one negative comment so i tried them out and i have to say they do a FABULOUS job... Im a girly girl and love the colors, glitter and the 3D art and KIM is simply amazing...she has the customers interest at heart and always produces quality work even during a time crunch... For those who think you can be seen as a walk in-good luck they are always booked and for good reason too, they are great!!! This place is great, I came to get acrylic nails removed and a manicure. I was hoping to have my natural nails in good condition, Yen took her time and did a great job on my nails. I went to this place on a whim because I liked they had online scheduling. Okay, so up front I confess that I was one of those annoying customers. First, called to say I would be late and could they move up my appointment? No problem. Then I am embarrassed to say I was still 15 minutes late. And on top of that I said I had less time than I originally slotted because of course I had something else scheduled following. They could not be kinder or more accommodating, quashed my apologies and made me feel very welcome. The spa setting was modern, very clean, serene and comfortable. Lot of choices for services. The quality of my spa pedicure and manicure was top notch and my toes are still a shiny lovely chip-free deep purple almost four weeks afterwards. Fingernails lasted almost a week but I am not one to wear gloves or am as careful as I should be (gardener, etc.). Kim did my nails and I unfortunately do not remember the name of the gal who did my pedicure. Both women were really good at what they did, focused and skilled. I set up an appointment for a gel manicure and had my nails done by Yen -- she was fantastic! Very sweet and extremely thorough. Highlights: Plenty of parking as it is located in a low-traffic shopping center Everyone is super friendly and sweet. Very clean!! Instruments appear to be sterilized {comes in the sealed blue bag}, pedicure chairs were wiped down between customers, individual bowls were used for pedicures {not the tubs connected to chairs that are hard to clean!} Cozy space, modern interior, pretty They have two flat screen TVs to keep you entertained {that is, if you decide not to chat with your manicurist} Cash only tips! I made the mistake of bringing only card and felt like a horrible person.. Upon entering I was greeted and handed the nail swatches to choose from. Took a seat and was offered a drink {chose the mimosa, yummy!} They ended up not having the color I wanted in stock, but one of the technicians suggested alternatives which was helpful. Yen is a great manicurist! The surface of my nails were splitting and rough {I was dumb and peeled off the previous gel manicure I had-- oops!} and she buffed out everything till it was smooth again. Loved how she shaped my nails {perfectly even squovals}, and she was careful clipping my cuticles {something I'm always paranoid about}. She seemed to take great care painting my nails and did very even thin coats {3 of just the polish color}. Five stars for Yen! Unfortunately minus one star overall because the polish started chipping after one week! Yikes! Maybe because the polish was applied so thinly? My last gel manicure {done at another salon} went 4 weeks strong with no chips or scratches. {Note: I work at a desk job and never do anything too physical with my hands-- still wondering how the chips happened}. Also after I got into my car and looked over my nails there were two noticeable bubbles in the polish :/ Loved everything about my experience except the polish chipping so soon! I really want to come back, but $30 for a gel manicure to chip after one week would not be worth it. Maybe I'll ask her to apply thicker coats next time! read more

It's been years since I've been to a nail salon. I used to only go to my good friend when she used to have a shop but then sold it. Since then, I just didn't trust anyone to be as good as her. Then, my engagement photoshoot came around the corner and I had to find someone. I saw some deals on Groupon and whatnot, but the reviews for De Paris Nails was off the hook, and didn't seem crazy expensive. What got me most was the blush pink gel nails with silver glitter on the top. I've seen this on Pinterest for the last year and really wanted them for my wedding!! Kim did my nails for me and she is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! You can tell she has so much passion for what she does. It's not just nails to her, it's a work of art and she will turn your hands over and over to make sure she did not miss a spot. She's incredibly easy to talk to as well. It also didn't hurt that they play all the songs I love, and offer candy and champagne. What more can I ask for?? Oh yea.. the bonus, after chatting it up on my second trip, I found out she's my friend's friend. Small world! i'm so glad to have made that connection. But either way, Kim and her wonderful staff always takes care of me well. I got a pedi for the first time in years and it was done by her staff.. because it was my wedding coming up, and they are detailed, clean and friendly just like Kim :) Because of them, they've turned me into a regular now. Finally! A nail salon I love! You need to call to make an appointment because chances are they won't have any openings if you try to walk-in. They are just. that. good. I was hesitant to write a review in fear that it will be harder for me to book an appointment, but I have to give this salon Kudos for how great it is. All of the technicians I've had are AMAZING. They pay special attention to detail, they give extra long massages, and they really take their time to ensure that you enjoy the full experience they offer. You also won't be bored as you are getting pampered, as they have iPad's at every chair, and play "Friends" or "Modern Family" re-runs. They use plush comfy couch recliners instead of spa chairs, and a stainless steal tub for your feet (which I prefer). I've gotten pedicures (tried almost all of the different types they offer), shellac manicures, and regular manicures. The prices are very reasonable for the level of service they offer. I would not hesitate to make an appointment. It truly is a gem! read more

This spa is a bit pricier than other nails spa but worth it as it is clean. I had a pedicure done, the foot massage was too light, i can barely feel it. No big deal to me at all. Kim did my pedi, i also thought she didn't scrub my feet good enough. I had better massages elsewhere. I took one star off coz I was asked if i also wanted a manicure right after my pedicure was done. Kim told me I had to wait til another manicurist to be done with her current client and it would only take 25 or 20 minutes. So I decided to wait granted it was just 20 minutes. I actually waited for 35 to 40 minutes and got a little impatient. BUt thought i should wait for just a little longer. But that client moved on to the manicure table and the manicurist started a gel manicure on her. My gosh...i don't think I'd wait another 2 or 3 hourst!!! And I wasn't told to reschedule or anything. Guess they expected me to wait. Poor communication on their part. I had to leave without my manicure and I even wasted 40 minutes of my time!!! Such a waste of time. read more

I called around 615pm and was able to get a walk in for a manicure and pedicure. They greet you warmly and offer you a beverage. Even a mimosa. Along with the refreshment, you get a small plate of minature chocolates! :) How cool is it that? Iipads are at each pedicure station too! Their pedicure chairs are so comfy you can sleep in them! Your feet is soaked in large Bowls of warm water and is So relaxing. Although they were going to close in 40 minutes, Kim did not rush me or make me feel like I was trying to get rushed out. I decided to get gel with a coral color and Kim suggested to put gold On my ring fingers. I'm glad she did because they came out amazing! The place is so clean, attractive and chic. They have 2 large screen TVs and sanitary equipment. I even saw her remove the tool from a pouch in which it gets autoclaved to sanitize. Very professional and nice. So this was only my second time here but it was still amazing. So Kim did my nails today. My appointment was at 4 but they were busy so they couldn't get to me right away. Kim was so apologetic to me but she got to me shortly. During my time there I got an emergency phone call where I had to go pick up my friends. Kim understood and she did my nails quick but they still came out great. Their salon is so classy. You just walk in and they're so nice. They offer you free drinks and even mimosas! We will be coming back! The service is very friendly, the nail technicians took their time and we did not feel rushed. The nail technicians engaged in conversation with both my mom and I, very different from other nail salons in Newark. I live in San Jose, lots of nail salons that I could easily go to, but I will gladly drive to Newark to visit de Paris from now on! I was looking for a nail salon closer to my place and came upon this one through yelp and decided to give it a try. After a wonderful experience, i've been going here ever since! The service is fantastic! Great hospitality from the staff as they greet you upon entering and offer their customers something to drink (including mimosas!) Kelly, who did my nails the first time i went there, is amazing. I've been booking my appointments with her since day one. She is very meticulous and takes extra time with my nails, which i appreciate so much because the end result is always satisfying. I get tons of compliments from friends and workers. The services are a bit pricey compared to other salon places, but i feel like you get your money's worth. read more
