Came here on my usual day off, Tuesday. The place was pretty empty, probably since it was a Tuesday morning around 10am. They offer an assortment of drinks, adult and kid friendly. I opted for Vietnamese coffee. I got their special pedicure (delux?) which includes a 30 min foot/leg massage, and a regular gel manicure. The tech was friendly and sweet, and she definitely took her time on my services. However, she was one of many staff and I'm not sure why she was the only one who worked on me. I have been dreading writing this review - only because I don't want to let my secret spot out! :) When I moved back to the area I tried every nail place around and then I found De Paris. My feet and hands will never be the same! :) Amazing pedicures and manicures, and the staff is super friendly. The take their time with you, and you don't feel rushed like you do at other places. They also have quite a sampling of pedicures to choose from - I personally recommend the Green Tea Pedicure, The Minty, or the Margarita. Even their regular pedicure is amazing and relaxing. I love the Shellac Manicure as well. Last visit I had my eyebrows done - fantastic job. This spa is my little getaway! You can also make reservations online which I tend to prefer. Their customer service is better than any place I have ever been to. I am in customer service business and I know how important is it to treat your customers well. First experience sitting in power reclining chairs with footrests, however they are old and dirty. Earlier this month, my cousin and I went to another Nail Salon in Newark, and even though I thought the lady that did my nails did an OK job, I still had to reshape my nails and even sand them down. My cousin found this nail salon on Yelp and we decided to get our fills here. Kim, did my nails and she did them PERFECT. I've never had an acrylic set so THIN before. They feel like my real nails! She must have sanded off 2 pounds of acrylic off my nails. The shape is great, and the length is just right. She was very particular and had great attention to detail. She was very informative about the different types of services, the difference between shellac and regular nail polish, and overall, was just pleasant to be around. This place looked good and promising but I just didn't like the service they provided specially at the price that they charged. Didn't scrub well and didn't give a good massage! Manicure was the worst that I ever had. My pedicurist didn't even file my nail properly - I had to ask her twice to rectify my weird pointed thumb nail and I was so frustrated with the manicurist that I just wanted her to finish the job and let me go home. They both were in hurry because a party of 4 had arrived and they had to close the parlor soon - although I took an appointment before coming there, it clearly didn't matter to them. This place is awesome. The only reason why I didn't give it a full 5-star rating is because I had an appointment at 5 but did not get seen until about 5:30. Kim did my full set of 3D nails- she (along with everyone else that works there) is super nice and very, very patient as she had to hand paint every bow and flower and glue on each rhinestone one at a time. Kim was very meticulous with my nails in that she made sure every single one was the same length and shape and she double checked to make sure I liked the length. Overall... I work in the beauty biz, just moved to this area, tried a few different nail places, one cut my toe & it got red & sore, was not impressed. Looked up reviews. Decided to come here. Awesome. I got the DeParis Special pedicure along with a set of nails with 3D nail art. Kim builds the 3D Japanese nail art free hand. The pedicure was so relaxing, I could have fallen asleep. They do not have massage chairs, but super comfy plush leather chairs, offered my choice of drinks, I got some hot tea Kim said she liked, and they gave me a bowl of candy. What more could a girl want? =) I normally get a pedicure once a week, with the move I have been busy, so its been about 2 weeks since I was there. Kim is the only one I have seen, so I cannot speak to anyone else there, but judging by her level of skill, I'd say everyone there must be on par. I loved that I didn't have to wait and they were able to take me right away. They had an impressive little mini bar which I think is the highlight of the nail salon! Super cute. I think they are super pricey, my fault for not checking out the menu before going but gosh darn! I paid an extra $5 for a lavender pedicure which they pitched to me but didn't tell me they ran out and used "something better" $35 Pedicure + $35 Shellac Manicure. Can't help feeling gutted because I really didn't think it was worth a whooping $70 plus tip, total of $80 Not to mention that when I left I had white debris from the acrylics all over my purse and clothes. My appointment was at 11am. I had so many things to take care of today since my wedding is in two days. I specifically booked for 3D art nail. For some reason, 3D nail artist (owner) decided to show up at 2pm. I had to get it done and had no choice since again, I had my wedding coming up and I had full schedule since then till my wedding. I admit my nail was beautiful. I was going to share photos of my nail but rhinestone came off really quick. She was late so she told me she will give me free 3D design but when she came, she changed her mind saying she will give me only two fingers for free. In the end, I spent 4 hrs at a nail salon, waiting for the owner to arrive and I had to cancel one of my appointment after this one. And paid over $200 for two nails and two pedicure. (My mom and I) My mom got designed on her nail and it was super ugly. Except the owner, everyone else is horrible there. They can't draw a line right. And owner is late 3 hrs. So I dont know which one is worse- bad skills or being super late for their customers. Oh. They do not have massage pedicure chair. They manually brought water in a bowl and it was cold. I asked to add some more warm water and they laughed at me saying it's almost over. I don't recommend this place and probably would never go back here also. They keep it well maintained which makes your experience that much better! From the get go I've always felt welcomed and they always make sure to offer me beverages and even snacks! They always have the Friends Marathon running every time I'm in which always gets me laughing! They also have iPads and iPhone chargers to use which I find is so useful!!! I am probably one of the pickiest people when it comes to nail salons. I moved to Fremont a few years ago and have tried multiple salons, all resulting in disappointment. I wished I could afford to go to the fancier salons, but would just settle for the lower priced places that would do a consistently good job. I was due for a mani and nowhere near my go-to salon by my work in San Jose, so I had to figure out where to go in the Fremont area. Since I was near the mall, I searched for what was close by and found De Paris, and I fell in love! Reasons why it is an awesome salon: 1. They serve beverages (note: champagne!) 2. They are up to date on the newer trends and styles (not tacky!) 3. They have a menu of options for spa pedicures that include soaks, massage, etc. for those times where you want to splurge 4. They play the show Friends on DVD (my favorite show and no commercials. AMAZING) 5. Costs the same as my hole in the wall Shellac mani = $28! I am a regular at this salon and for good reason. The salon is incredibly clean, bright and friendly. The staff does a fantastic job, are very professional and friendly. I've had both manicures and pedicures and have never left unhappy. Couple of mild cautions; be prepared to spend a little time there. Because they do such great work, it is a little slow. I personally love getting to spend a little extra time there but if you are in a hurry, may want to let them know. Also, they do not have the massage pedicure chairs. Again, I personally don't like them so this is a plus in my book. And finally - what makes this such a stand out salon are the extras you get. You are treated with a glass of champagne or water, sweet treats and my favorite part - being able to watch episodes of Friends. It truly is an oasis and I recommend you try it. With a near perfect rating, we were definitely expecting a lot more. Since we were going to be in the Newark area, we quickly yelped up the top rated nail salon closest to our planned destination. They were able to set up two mani appointments with in the hour. Upon our arrival, the staff was surprised and overwhelmed even about our reservation. Apparently, the technician who took down the information forgot to inform the rest of the staff. They had about four working on a Saturday afternoon and everyone was already with a client. This soon became a hot topic with in the small shop as even the other customers had remarks on our appointments being pushed back. We didn't mind the wait too much though. Considering the reviews, we were willing to wait to see what all the fuss was about. The staff was also very apologetic and offered us wine as we waited. As we sat on the sofa recliners prior to our manicures, we couldn't help but notice the pedicures conducted out of small metal tubs just above the carpet. Maybe it's a personal preference, but with the pedicure process already being sanitary sensitive there was no way this method could be any better if not worse. Carrying these vegetable soaking like kitchen bowls back and forth from across the room only to have the soiled water contents soak into the carpet and furniture? Seems gross, though other reviews have mentioned it's actually cleaner. Whatever the case, I lost my drinking appetite at the site of callus flakes flying in all directions just arm's length away. Though we waited nearly an hour and received a fairly average manicure, they were pretty thorough with extra coats and moisturizing cuticle treatment. I've been coming to this salon for almost a year already! And Yen is the reason why I keep coming back. I drive all the way from San Jose to get my gel Mani from her. Time to time I get a pedi.. But let me just say. Yen is the best!!!!! She takes her time and makes sure my nails are on point. I came here last year with my friend to get mani/pedi's for her wedding. And I got lucky to have Yen do my nails for the first time and first time ever getting a manicure. And since then I can't stress enough why I love her. They use good quality products that literally make my nails last for 3-4 weeks no chips. I get Gel over my real nails. But they always look good after Yen does it even after 3 weeks grown out. I'm really rough on my hands, and it's always super dry. Yen takes so much time, cutting the cuticles and shaping my nails to perfection. Everyone always compliments on my nails, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome each time. They use large bowls for their Pedi's which is sanitary. And big comfy recliners! My favorite pedi service is the Minty! They honestly have the best polish selection I've seen! From Essie, Opi, Zoya, Gelish, Gel II, DND, CND. All kinds of gel polish too. I highly recommend this salon, Yen seriously is my go to. She takes her time, my nails never break or chip. Yes they are pricey but tbh, It's all in the work, high quality products, they take their time and never rush!!!! They even offer, drinks- water, coffee and my favorite mimosas. I would actually give this place 4.5 stars, had to mark down .5 stars for the bulky leather couch. I'm just being picky, but for me 5 stars is heaven!!! The decor was very warm and friendly. What I love about this place was that it was very clean and sanitized, from equipment to seating area. I got my pedicure and manicure done and loved it (5 stars). Kim did an excellent job on my pedicure, great massage and the shellac manicure was amazing. It was perfection, I didn't see any wrong curves or screw ups compared to the expensive place Lavende at Santana Row. It actually lasted for about two weeks or so. The prices are very reasonable and they have many different types of pedicure packages to choose from. You should definitely try it and they are very accommodating!!! The highlight of the day was getting my pedicure done and being able to surf the internet with the provided ipad. Yes, each pedicure station has an ipad!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the women here. They're not the typical Vietnamese nail shop. They have IPADS, bubbly drinks, candy, and best of all, FRIENDS on TV. The last time I came here, there were a group of women celebrating. I think they brought in their own drinks, food, and gifts, but they definitely looked like they were having a blast. I would definitely come here for a group celebration for birthdays, girls day, etc. I personally love how comfortable their chairs are. I usually pass out and they would let me sleep until I wake up. That's how relaxed I am with their service. I don't really care for the hot stone exfoliating process, because it doesn't do much in my opinion. Their towels can get a little hot, so you've been warned. Cash and card accepted, but people, keep in mind to tip in cash when possible. Be sure to make an appointment, if you don't want to wait. Some other Yelper says they like convenient nail places that just accepts walk ins and do not need to be hassled with appointment scheduling. Ok, if you're that person, then you deserve to wait. Got the orange peel pedicure and it was pretty awesome, with the hot stone massage and all :) poor Amy had to deal with my squirming while taking care of my calluses because I am horribly ticklish at the soles of my feet (which the bf uses against me all the time). Kim, the owner, was super nice and told me that to get rid of the calluses completely I'd need to get this pedicure 2 more times, once a month (and not more than that). When I asked how to minimize/prevent calluses, she didn't push any products on me and in fact told me cheaper alternatives to taking care of my feet! so big plus :) even though it's pretty pricey ($60 pedicure!) I will do the orange peel treatment 2 more times and hopefully it gets rid of the calluses completely! So far the first treatment has gotten rid of the peeling dead skin. read more
