Location location location. Deacon Baldy's has taken the food truck mall concept to north of The Woodlands with success. General bar central to all of the trucks. For the most part has a good variety of different trucks over the course of a month. Very kid friendly. Th only issue is that they are landlocked. We will NEVER go here again. I have been a regular for 2 years, but will not return. We had a gathering with my kids and 3 families. My kids and his friends (parent accompanied) are 19, 20, 21 years old (yep, 3 of them only with 4 adults). We ordered 7 meals from the food trucks (they were excellent) and 6 drinks total from Deacon Baldy's "bar". My kids literally SIPPED out of 2 of the drinks the 4 adults ordered and the bartenders came to our table 3 times telling us to "not underage drink"/"show IDs" (which they said were "Fake" (our kids btw)/"what is in the water cup you brought"....5 TIMES in the 1 hour we were tortured there. We brought our dogs, who were a hit and everyone loved. They said they would "be shut down and call the police on our families" if we had another drink. We ALL NEVER finished the first drink. And, TX law allows the ONE underage to drink with parents if they permit without "the establishment closing down". No wonder it was so vacant that night and no return customers. The service was embarrassing and the fellow patrons we met at several other tables left due to the "nasty, short bartender". I remember being masked shamed for my mask "not covering my entire nose" about a month ago and another person in my party saying "we were skeptical bc it was such a bad experience the first time we came a year ago, said we would NEVER return". Do not attempt to have a family (or pleasant) outing there. We left and went to a Mexican restaurant a mile away (4 parents and 4 "kids" ages 19/20/21), ate, spent a lot of money and enjoyed our evening spoiled by planning to go to Deacon Baldy's. We have been to Deacon Baldy's multiple times and even though the food is good (except Barbecue is always sold out and closed) we probably will not go back. We are dog lovers but each time we have been there, big dogs are barking and growling at each other. They are all over the place (on a leash) but the owners let them walk up to you while you are eating. There are little kids playing all around, having fun and running up to these big dogs that have been barking and growling. It would take only one child not being watched and one bad tempered dog to create a really bad situation. I would think the liability is not worth the cool factor. This is a great place for people wanting to spend some time outdoors enjoying a variety of foods. Although it does get very wet due to all the trucks (hopefully they will fix this soon) it is a fun place for both kids and adults. My family and I went on a Friday night. There is not enough parking... took forever to find a space like Christmas at the mall. The drink line is way to long and goes down the middle of all the tables. It should be roped of and snaked around in an area by the bar so as not to intrude on the tables. We ate at the Craft Burger Truck and won't be eating there again. The burgers took about 25 minutes. The waffle for the waffle burger was burnt and non-edible. There were only about 12 fries and I think 5 onion rings which looked to be cooked in old grease and weren't good. They did refund our money on the burgers but based on the other reviews this seems to be the norm for them so we won't be back. The business concept is very good but the execution is very poor. Also, our son was bored because the little play area was lame. They should do it right and put in a playground or use the area to add more tables because it was very difficult to find a place to sit and eat like the mall food court at Christmas. My wife introduced me to this place, and it has turned into our "go to" option for getting out of the house with our Golden Retriever while our house for sale is being shown. Not only is the beer n ale menu expansive and ever-changing, I can get a mixed drink if I'm in the mood. Biggest shout out goes to the food trucks, especially the Greek Squad. This guy serves some of the best authentic Greek gyros in town, not just this area. Scratch made sauce, daily. He won't rush it if he's backed up, but he'll tell you when it'll be ready, which is such good customer service. Visiting this place for the first time. It's rather chilly outside for Texas and this place is outside under a steel and tin structure. I love good beer and they have an abundance. I'm in love with this place! The staff here is more like family than just bartenders. They have taken the time to get to know their customers on a personal level and interact with them more like family than friends. They have daily drink specials that are super wallet friendly. The food trucks are switched out every now and then. Most of them are meat trucks which I mean we do live in Texas, but some trucks offer vegetarian or vegan options. Great bar. The beer selection alone is worth it. The prices are what to be expected for the fine craft brews they offer. If you're looking for your run of the mill bud light they have that as well but I recommend asking the barkeep what new beers on tap they suggest. The revolving door of various food trucks is nice. The prices are high but I expect that from a food truck. Especially ones serving higher quality food such as the ones there. Love the atmosphere and how family friendly it is. My wife, son and I visited Deacon Baldy's Bar and Food Truck Park on the evening of Saturday, October 8th. It is brand spanking new! I believe it opened Friday evening to friends and family, then on Saturday was somewhat of a "soft opening", with the Grand Opening coming the weekend of October 14th. We started the evening with a couple of brews from the taps. I had the Robert Earl Keen Honey Pils which was very smooth and light. My second beer was a 90 Shilling Ale. I was somewhat apprehensive about trying it at first; however, once I drank my first sip, I was very happy with my decision. The beer came recommended by a friend of ours who was at Deacon Baldy's while we were there. We began our food journey for the evening with Loaded Plantains from the Wild Radish food truck. The plantains were topped with crispy pork carnitas, guajilo chile gravy, cotija cheese, mango pico, and avocado and cilantro sauce. These plantains were scrumptious! It was a very colorful dish to begin with, had a nice mix of warm (from the pork) and cool (from the mango and avocado / cilantro sauce). The plantains had just the right crunch too them, not soggy and too hard to bite into. Next, we had the Truffle Butter Juicy Lucy from the Craft Burger Food Truck. The burger consisted of shaved truffles, cheese curds, mixed greens, tomatoes, and truffle mayo on a fresh, thick bun. The patty was cooked more on the well side (which I don't mind). No presence of pink or red; and the patty had a very nice "char" to it. Each bite was tender, juicy, and very flavorful and oozing with cheese. This burger was absolutely delicious!! However, it's going to cost you, $18 for just the burger. No sides, no drink, just the burger. But if you want to experience a delicious burger, this is it! Our son had some boneless wings from the Wings on Wheels food truck. He let me have a couple of bites and the chicken was very tender, juicy, and flavorful! The wings were surprisingly thick, not skinny chicken here. The buffalo sauce was actually pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of buffalo sauce, but these had just the right amount of spice (very little because our son doesn't like spicy foods....yet!) and "zing" to it. For the last bites of the evening, we my wife and I split the Fried Eggplant Panini and an order of Brussels Sprouts from The Lucky Fig. The friend eggplant Panini consisted of fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella from LIra Rossa artisan cheese (Moulton, TX), roasted bell peppers, basil pesto mayo, and whole grain mustard. While we both thought it was good, we felt that the mustard taste stole the show. We couldn't really taste any of the cheese or peppers, nor the basil pesto mayo; just the eggplant and the mustard. The Brussels Sprouts on the other hand, were phenomenal! On paper, they were pretty simple: Brussels sprouts, smoked bacon, and pistachio. On the palate, they were Heaven to my taste buds! You had the crunch from the bacon and pistachio, and the sprouts were cooked to perfection! No crunch, no toughness, they just melted in your mouth. They were probably my favorite "meal" of the evening! There were numerous flat screen TVs all around so we were enjoying many of the college football games that were being televised. And did I mention they were all new!! Great pictures, great sound, great times! I like this place:). Nice place to be outdoors and drink beer. Lots of beers on tap. Beer prices are competitive. Happy hour is better:). Lines get long for beer when busy like anywhere. And parking gets rough when busy like anywhere. And yes...puddles form when it rains!!!! Sorry...saw some other crappy reviews that complained about rain and parking and beer lines when busy....some people:(. Anyways. Great concept, not perfect but they will figure it out:). I'm there a lot:):): Ps---dog friendly:). And sometimes there are a shit ton of kids there:(. It'd be ok if their parents made sure they weren't hellions but here in Texas people let their kids be shitty in public. FYI. I did not include the food trucks in my rating. While deacon's is a food truck park, this review is just for the bar part. My husband and I love coming to this place and have signed up for their beer rewards program thing. We probably come to Deacon Baldy's a few times a month. Our last visit left a bad taste in my mouth because the bartender seemed to care more about flirting with coworkers/any man at the bar than getting our orders correct or charging me appropriately based on the rewards program. She repeatedly messed up our order despite me asking her to fix it at least twice. She eventually fixed our bill, sort of (still paid more than we should have but I was done dealing with it). I enjoy getting some beers when the other bartenders are around but for whatever reason this girl just can't be bothered to do her job. We haven't returned since this incident. Otherwise - great atmosphere, very laid back when the bro-dads don't bring their loud wives and 15 kids for a Saturday afternoon sesh, and excellent beer choices - wish you guys filled growlers! read more

A friend recommended we try it out for lunch today. First thing I saw was crazy amounts of greasy water where it appears the grey water tanks were just being dumped. Thought we would give it a shot anyway. One friend hit the Maine Lobster. We opted for the Craft Burger. I love food and am not scared to spend some money on it. But when we saw the prices, we nearly choked. I justified ordering by telling my self that a $15 hamburger has to be good! Well, you know what they say about assuming. My friend got the Lobster Tacos ($17). I ordered the American Burger, fries, and a shake ($27). His order was out in minutes. As it was such a small plate of tacos, it was gone in about a minute and half. Our burgers took over twenty minutes and were not worth the wait. Had this been a Friday night with a 100 people mingling around, that would have made sense. Unfortunately it was lunch and there were less than 15. If our experience is normal, which it appears from some of the other reviews it might be, this place doesn't have a chance. Too bad, because it is a neat concept read more
