So if you're coming here with young children, this is the perfect restaurant for lunch or dinner. The playground is an amazing feature to have! Made all of the difference to sit next to the playground and eat and drink... and in the shade. The food was okay. It wasn't anything memorable but also wasn't terrible. The drinks were okay as well. Service was fast which helped the kids! I mainly would go back for the playground feature! The decor was amazing for the kids as well. Definitely a fun experience for kids. Inside there are arcade machines.

I've been to OC countless times, and this is honestly one of the best meals and service I've had. Party of 7, in the summer, and seated immediately with the option of inside or outside. Our server was quick to come over and was so friendly and attentive. As an appetizer I got the butter old bay wings and holy moly, they were PERFECT. So crispy without being dry, juicy inside, seasoned to perfection. I would actually say these may be the best wings I've had ever. For my meal I got the Cesar salad with blackened salmon. The Cesar dressing was a great consistency with amazing flavor. The salmon was the kicker though. Perfectly seasoned, cooked perfectly where it was crispy outside but juicy inside. I have nothing bad to say at all. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

excellent food, but...no one tells you when your kid orders the shark drink that the shark is filled with a red liquid you're supposed to pour into the drink, so when the kid picks up the shark, red stuff spills everywhere!! I watched that happen to a couple other tables too. also they said they don't serve the kids grilled cheese sandwich anymore but it's still on the menu.

Dropped in to Dead Freddies for dinner on a Saturday evening. Everyone we crossed paths with from the time we entered until the time we left were extremely hospitable. This is definitely more of a soup, salad, sandwiches type of restaurant (they do have some entree options as well) but their drink menu looked to be more exciting. For my entree I had the fish tacos with fries. I am a sauce girlie and found the spicy aioli didnt do too much for the tacos themselves. I ended up using the cajun remoulade from our jerk chicken appetizer which was a nice combo. Also definitely recommend one of their jerk chicken options as they were tasty. My partner in crime had the captains chicken, the half portion, which he enjoyed. While I appreciate a lot of sauce, it may be too much for some people. I would also probably suggest getting the full portion if you are someone with a big appetite. The pirate themed decor throughout is definitely a fun look and the play area for kids looked to be a hit as well. The kids at the next table really got a kick out of the shark attack (shirly temple) drinks they got. While average fare, it is worth a try if you are looking for a place to go with a family, but also looks to be a nice spot for drinking and hanging out as well!

Mixed review here and should be 3.5 stars, but I'm giving 4 just for food flavor and attentive service alone. We used to be regular customers here back 6-12 years ago. Then there was a dispute between management and employees which made us 2nd guess patronizing an establishment that was not fair to employees. That has since been resolved, then COVID came and we just now decided to give them a try. Remember, it used to be one of our favorite spots for at least 6 years straight. I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't have a long wait to be seated, however that was not the case once we sat down. The wait from time we were seated to dinner being served was 50 minutes. I will say our server came by regularly to apologize for back up in the Kitchen. He kept mentioning the outside diners, so we were left to surmise outside had priority in the Kitchen for service vs the timing when orders turned in. Service by Petar V was excellent, although a refill of our drinks would have been nice since wait was unusually long. I ordered the Strawberry Fields salad which is excellent in taste BUT when you look at the meager size of the meal, you have to shake your head in disbelief, especially after I asked, throw extra lettuce on it because they had downsized portions years ago, another reason we stopped going, and I suspected it to be even smaller with the $12.99 pricing. However, I added grilled chicken which brought the salad price to $22, which is total robbery for portion size. I finished it and was still VERY hungry. Again, it's a delicious salad, just needs to be worth it's money. My husband ordered his favorite chicken tenders. Again, tasty BUT very small chicken strips for an entree costing $16. They have this entree listed in both the app section and entree section for same price and no ingredient difference. This dish is definitely app sized. If you're a hungry person, be aware and plan to order appetizers and a meal. I will say, based on prior experience, there are only a couple main entrees that would be worthy of the label of entree. A couple of the chicken dinners that you now can order as a half meal. Drinks are large and worthy of the $4 price tag and they are a Pepsi establishment. Also be aware, every check has a 3% supplemental fee tagged on, doesn't matter if you pay cash or credit. I think we'll be putting Dead Freddie's back on the back burner since there are better value for your money with good quality food to chose from. It is a FUN atmosphere with nice outside dining, great alcoholic and Non-alcoholic drink selections, a kids playground and TV screens throughout. SO, go with that in mind and you won't be disappointed just expect to order enough if you're hungry!

The service was absolutely amazing here! For a party of twelve, the food came out very quickly. The inside was absolutely unique. It was like being in a whole different world. My siblings loved the playground. The food was pretty good, I'd give it about an eight. Maybe a bit more seasoning. The soup was fantastic, my family loved it! The downside was definitely the price. For six of us it came roughly around 300 including tip. Probably the most I've ever payed going out with my family. Other than the price, it was pretty nice. Update: The rest of the restaurants my family went to on this vacation we're all under 200. All came to the agreement it wasn't worth it in the end, mainly because of the price.

I love that they have an outdoor playground here! It is not completely fenced in but it is mostly enclosed. There is access to the playground from the outside so we kept that in mind. We liked they had a burger option with crab dip on top. The kids ate and were able to go outside to play. We couldn't see them from the inside but liked that it was mostly enclosed.

I think we had arrived right at the start of it since the earlier of our group did not have to pay it. The interior of the place was very cool and filled with plants and plenty of bars. When we were walking around trying to find our group, there was live music being played with a large area for listening and dancing. We met up with our group and ordered a few drinks and were able to watch the sunset on the water. Our first round of drinks were so tasty and good. However, when we ordered our second round, the drinks were much stronger and not as tasty. I think it was a different bartender, especially since we had ordered the same drink of a long island iced tea. We didn't try any food, so I can't comment on that part. The bathrooms were a bit rough; I'm not sure if there was any working AC in the ones I went to 'cause I was so hot! The door stall in the one I was in also didn't close all the way with almost a full inch gap that you could peer into, so I had to pull it close the whole time I was using the stall. Overall, I would come early to avoid the cover fee and enjoy the atmosphere and drinks!

SO, we decided we had the time, we were hungry & nearby, so we made our way to what is now called Whiskers Saloon. We were greeted warmly by Jay who was manning both the bar and customers at tables. We took some time to peruse the 2 page menu looking for both old favorites and what's new. I decided to try one of my usual sandwiches, The Rachel for comparison sake & added Sweet potato fries (additional upgrade). I asked & was happy the special spicy sauce I loved to combine with the fries was still available under a different name, Texas sauce. I will say, my sandwich was much better than in "the old days" because this was made with actual carved turkey thick slices as opposed to thin cold cut turkey from prior ownership. I was a happy camper! My hubby tried something new to him at Whiskers, he had a chicken cheesesteak sub and was pleasantly surprised and impressed to find it was not finely chopped up chicken, but cut up grilled chicken chunks with nicely sautéed onions. We were happy to return, pleased to find that good quality & taste was still there and its what we were used to after almost 15 years of frequenting here. We were happy to see Commanders game & flag displayed for this Sunday game with many fans inside boisterously enjoying the game playingon all the tvs. All day specials were going on today and Jay told us everything they were offering on the specially priced menu which was a nice extensive list of bar food and drinks, including $3 Yeungling.
