Visited this restaurant again this summer on a very first night that we came to Ocean city. Around 6 pm, but as always, it was packed. We sat outside. Our server was very friendly and even though he was busy, he attended our table very well. He was polite and friendly. We got Nachos for appetizers. It was really good and tasty. Even the presentation was nice. So good that I didn't have a chance to take a picture before digging in. For main course we had Fish & chips, kids chicken tender, Fish tacos and crab meat burger. They were all tasty and hot. We never regret eating here. It always meet our expectations and even my picky eaters kids love this restaurant. read more

so here I am in Ocean City Maryland. This is my first visit here ever. I'm actually here for an AAU basketball tournament. So, between games on a Saturday afternoon. I dropped five girls off at Starbucks across the parking lot from this place. They were walking back to the recreation center where the tournament was. The wife and I we're looking for a restaurant for lunch, and tail chasers was right in front of us. We decided to check it out. It was actually a great experience. We sat out on the deck overlooking the canal It appears they have a nice outdoor bar there and from that vantage point you would not know you were in a strip mall parking lot. The food was good / above average, but I will say the service was outstanding. Our server was probably a young girl home for college for the summer, but she knew the menu. We stopped in here for lunch during our day on ocean city. The restaurant has a modern design that feels casual and classy at the same time. The staff were helpful and checked in regularly to make sure we're were doing ok and taken care of. I got rock shrimp and the mussels which were both delicious. The rock shrimp were well fried and full of flavor and the mussels were cooked well and matched perfectly with the white wine garlic sauce they were in. We picked it here for kid friendly playground location and heard food was good. We ended up doing first available and sat inside away from playground and didn't visit it at all haha. But the food! So good! Way better food than other kid places. The ahi tuna nachos were so good as well as poutine. My fish tacos were bomb. Only issue was my sister is pescatarian and on the menu it didn't say sausage was in clams sauce. She is ok with it but could be issue with others. This was by far our best meal at the beach. Everything was so delicious, hit, and fresh. We arrived around 5pm and there was a line out the door to get seated but it moved very quickly. The upstairs was so cute and a small, quaint space that felt more private. Our food came out extremely quickly and our server was attentive and checked in with us. Stopped by tail-chasers for a late lunch and it didnt disappoint. It was semi interesting standing at the front and no host was at the front to seat us. After 10+ mins we headed through the restaurant to the back patio bar and self seated. The patio/bar is beautiful backed up to the water on the bay side. The food was great and super tasty. I enter an establishment at 4:30 on a weekday and it's empty, and smells like glade air freshener spray. The people there did not seem to want to work. Everyone was standing around just gossiping. We sat at the table inside and waited about 15 mins to get a server. I realize this is pretty normal here in OCMD, but there were a lot of people standing around and a handful of people eating. The server was a nice guy. He wasn't one of the folks standing around. We were hopeful. Drinks were watered down. They were supposed to be frozen. We ordered brisket Putíne. Absolutely flavorless. Had to add salt and pepper to make it edible. Even my teens didn't like it. I personally had the shrimp tacos. They fell apart, and were inconsistent in prep. One had 2 shrimps, the other had 4. One had sauce, the other did not. The taco was falling apart after the 3rd bite. Very unpleasant to eat. The oysters we ordered had tons of shell pieces in it. Again, down to the preparation. My husband had the lobster roll. It was actually good, but the portions of lobster were a joke. We went to the crab factory down the road a week ago and the value, bread and amount of lobster was a better value with equal taste. Overall, this seems like a tourist location and very hit or miss. Met some friends at Tailchasers for dinner, and for a Friday night with a party of 7, the wait wasn't bad at all. Service was decent--nothing out of the ordinary, but everything came out smoothly. Beer was ice cold, which is always a win. I ordered the Alfredo and was pretty disappointed, but that's on me for going pasta at a seafood spot. My friends had the fish and shrimp tacos, and they looked fantastic--they said they were delicious. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit, just stick to what they're known for: seafood. The best key lime crush all trip. The playground was a huge hit with my kids. They can play while you eat and it's nice to sit in the sand out back. The inside was pretty good. At the end of the meal, kids get to go in and pick their ice cream out of the freezer which they loved. Our server was great too, he gave suggestions and was super busy yet attentive. I have few complaints here about the food other than I should have gotten the ahi tuna nachos! We thought about it but got other things and we saw order after order passing us and they looked so good. We ended up getting a shrimp po boy and burger. Both were good and the fries that came with it were amazing. We also had fish tacos and tuna poke. The fish tacos were really and fried just right but for some reason I assumed they would be grilled. I would have liked that due to heart issues. The tuna poke was a nice sized portion but there was a little to much sauce and honestly the tuna was not pink but brownish. It tasted fine and my daughter just assumed that it turned colors due to the sauce. The hostesses? They looked like you were bothering them. You walked up to the counter and 3 of them stood there and just looked at you like you're an idiot. I had to say "hello. we have a party of 4". If they are the front face of your establishment, they need some more guest training. read more

The venue has an outstanding menu with some traditional favorites, but also a lot of creative and delicious preparations. We liked that they have an outdoor playground that is fully enclosed. We had the kids eat and then they were able to go outside to play while we could stay longer inside. My daughter and I were in OC at our beach house and wanted a yummy dinner. Tailchasers is one of our fave spots. Be prepared to wait, we waited about 45 minutes but there is a cute store next door so we did some shopping. The hostess asked if we preferred inside or outside, outside of course. I had the tuna special of the night. It advertised having a charred corn and jalapeño salsa but did not come with that and although it would have benefited from the spice and acid it was still fresh and tasty. Our waiter mentioned they could do a watermelon crush and I was all about it. Our server was attentive and kind, as were all who worked here. Had about a twenty minute wait during busy season. We were seated on the deck which is dog friendly! We started off with the crab dip and kettle chips. The crab dip was really good and I couldn't get enough of the old bay kettle chips. For entrees, we ordered the nacho mama grilled cheese, soft crab BLT, smashburger, and jerk chicken sandwich. I haven't stopped thinking about the grilled cheese since I had it. One of my favorite sandwiches! My fiancé really enjoyed the soft shell crab sandwich- said it's one of the only soft shell's he's had that was properly seasoned. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their food. Our waitress, Isabella, was so sweet. The bacon on the soft crab BLT was missing but she quickly got us a plate of bacon and made sure our drink glasses were full throughout dinner. Friday evening, Labor Day Weekend Edition: We needed food fast and I was really wanting to grub on seafood since naturally, we're at the beach. With little ones, we knew we couldn't go anywhere quickly, so we ordered takeout. Calamari - Decent Cioppino - The base was well done. They did not skimp on the seafood, a little on the crostini they provided, but several pieces tasted extra "ammonia-y." I didn't finish after the second ammonia bite because I did not want to be hugging the toilet the rest of the trip (better safe than sorry). We asked to sub pesto fries instead of regular fries with our burger, but got charged for pesto fries on the side. The pesto fries were disappointing because it was (oily) pesto sauce over fries. Hubs burger was overcooked. Truffle Smashed Potatoes were not good: they were oily and had zero truffle taste and too much horseradish. I couldn't stomach finishing it. Standard pricing with other similar seafood restaurants in the area. If you're craving seafood, this isn't great, but it's not terrible either. read more
