Mixed feelings about this place. Pros: Great place if you want to sit by the water. You can literally walk into the ocean. Fun beach bar atmosphere inside. Our server and bartenders were attentive and friendly. Husband was happy with his smash burger. Cons: Food is overpriced and I didn't find my grilled catfish sandwich to have much flavor. They don't tell you on the website that Happy Hour prices is only at the bar. Host experience was weird. I was the only person there and 7 employees having a meeting. I was patiently waiting and the hostess loudly said "We'll be right with you!" as if I was flagging them down. After a few mins she directed another hostess to take us (party of 2) to a specific table number. There were 10-15 open tables outside and we were sat at the worst possible table next to a shed. We brought the Goldens out for lunch. It's a great spot for that and they have a dog menu that includes a protein and milk bones. We ordered drinks that were fine and the wife ordered the loaded fries appetizer. They tasted sweet and I'm not sure why crabby cheese fries would be sweet. She couldn't finish them due to that. I had chicken tenders that were pretty good. We got a smash burger for the Golden Retrievers. We went with a regular menu item as opposed to their puppy menu. The Mac and cheese was bland, the fried rice was soggy and tasted like they threw a whole bottle of soy sauce on it, the wings were bland, and the Cajun pasta was bad beyond words. If you're going to get a drink and enjoy the beautiful views, I'd recommend going to Mackys. There's a great selection of frozen drinks, but the food made me wanting so much more. I got the fish tacos and they tasted like a whole lot of nothing. There was too much tortilla to fish ratio and the fish itself was soggy. I wish o could taste a hint of seasoning. I do love that they have their own restaurants chips though!! The crab dip I did enjoy as a starter and would recommend! The food has gotten worse. I have been here dozens of times over several decades, and it used to be better. The service by the wait staff was great. The hostess was also good considering she had to deal with a "Karen" asking for the manager because she wanted a better table and a long line. We did not wait long to get seated at a high top table. I ordered the fish tacos. It tasted off, was not really seasoned, and also was not warm. It had a weird tasting slaw as well. My friend ordered the soft shell crab sandwich, which he said was just OK but lacked seasoning. The crab dip and mac n cheese were better. The drinks were great! We had an excellent meal at Macky's. We were seated at a table outside on the waters edge and we had a very good server (thanks Ky). I thoroughly enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich. My wife had the buttermilk fried chicken tenders. She said they were really good! Also, I like that they gave us a pitcher of water for the table as it was a very warm evening. Has to be the worst experience at Macky's in the 30 years we have been coming to OCMD. Ten people, two different tables, the waiter was doing his best but the kitchen failed tonight. The jerk shrimp with pineapple rice, three of us got that, I think the salt shaker fell in the uncle Ben's rice that had no pineapple anywhere on the plate and there was no jerk in the shrimp. The service was nice at Macky's they were very attentive and also accommodating to our dog by bringing him water. The ambience was nice as well, clean and close to the shore. Unfortunately, the food was not good. I ordered a yogurt bowl and was very disappointed as it was not appetizing at all and was falsely advertised as fresh fruit but it was not. We went here on a rainy football Sunday, yesterday. Tons of great TVs. We sat at the bar and it also happened to be happy hour time which had a list of some discounted drinks and food. The bar was comfortable with comfortable seating. You couldn't really see a view because there were plastic drapes up to protect against the wind and rain. I'm sure it's sooo much nicer in good weather. Our bartender was Dylan, he introduced himself to us after taking over from the previous bartender who was also super cool. He was really great!! Personable and friendly and welcoming. He made our experience better and made up for the crappy weather. He clearly loves his job, or at least appears to! I had a pina colada (much much better than fish tales down the street) and my husband had a few draft beers. We also got some chicken tenders to nibble on, they were big and there was a bunch. We got here and waited 15 mins to be seated outside since we had a dog with us. Our server was super personable and checked in with us regularly. The outdoor seating is nice it's right by the ocean and you can catch a nice sunset if you come here for dinner. I ordered the caesar salad with chimichurri steak on the side. it is $16 extra dollars for the "chimichurri steak". they did not ask how i would like it cooked or on the side or anything. $16 for that depressing side piece of "chimichurri" steak. i really disliked how the plain unseasoned steak came out. the salad is heavily dressed so i would recommend getting the dressing on the side because it comes from a bottle anyways. not a single crouton had a crunch to it, it felt almost as if it had been sitting there for 20+ mins before being served because of how soggy the croutons were.... I was highly disappointed as caesar salads are hard to mess up. The chiefs plate for the jerk tuna and salmon were the tables favorites. i had a taste and it was way better quality than the salad. it was fresh, flavorful, and worth the price. for tapas we did two orders of the conch fritters and they were a solid 7.9/10 they had flavor and some crunch but instead of drizzling the sauce i would put that on the side because it came with too little sauce. overall is an okay place but could work on some of the basics. their cocktails are very strong,, i sent my spicy margarita back for a beer because of how strong and not spicy it was. the workers are kind, and hard working. great atmosphere just average food. read more

What a lovely waterfront restaurant! Our server was so attentive, nice, and funny! We took the bus over for a girls' night and had a wonderful time! Went to Macky's in OC; hadn't been there for 15 years because of a bad experience. Decided to try it again because SoDel bought it. Had another bad experience. We went there for happy hour and sat on the beach. Had a couple of drinks, but when I got the check, it was twice as much as other places like, 45th St, Harpoon Hannas, Fagers and many others. Our bartender friend Bill from Catch 54 started working here as a bartender this summer. Bill also worked here last summer. This was my first time here with our friends. We came down on our friend's boat from his waterfront home in Selbyville, DE. We noticed the colorful beach umbrellas as we came down the bay so we suspected this was Macky's. We entered the dock area from the south per the posted signage on the bay. We entered through the front restaurant entrance. After the hostess we saw Bill working at the inside bar, which is where we sat with our friends. See my pics and videos. I shared one of the three shrimp tacos for $16. I really enjoyed the buffalo chicken wings for $17. They were very tasty. Of course Bill served us very well and we were able to catch up on so many things related to Bill's family, Catch 54 and Macky's. Disappointed is an understatement. My family loved this place last year so much that on our short 4 day vacation, we ate here twice. This year, for whatever reason, there has been a drastic shift in quality and care for the customer. I placed an order and specified that we have an allergy to scallions, and when I picked up our food, a side of what seemed like cheese covered in scallions was in the order. Not what is on the menu at all. The photo speaks for itself, our food allergy was ignored. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that adding a side of cheese sauce full of scallions instead of the coleslaw that the meal comes with was a simple mistake and not something worse. It is also worth noting that 3 out of the 4 employees we encountered at this restaurant seemed unhappy. Hopefully, whatever issues are going on are rectified moving forward. read more
