Possibly the worst phone etiquette I've ever experienced. Called with a simple problem with the…read morefaucets in my shower and looking for help. Was transferred to the service department who answered with "Hello?!", as if they were angry at me. I'm thinking, "Is this the service desk? Who is this? Did I do something wrong, why's he mad?" I explained my issue quickly to absolute deafening silence. The man said "Yeah....You have to get it fixed.", as though I was an idiot. That's why I'm calling you. I said, "right," thinking maybe I hadn't explained the issue correctly. I described the three-handle setup, what was occurring, that I was aware of the stems and that maybe the O-rings or boot were just worn, but I had butted my head against it for a week and needed a professional. More. Silence. Long stretches of nothing. Then a dry and bothered tone said, "Yeah, you need to replace the parts. You can't just 'clean' them. You'd have to call up and order and replace the parts, sometimes the whole assembly........." I said, ".......Right. Soooo...." I mean am I supposed to order this?? If I knew the right part and could fix it, what am I calling you for? I said calmly but confused, "Is it something I can just go to the store for? I looked at the stem, but don't see a model number or brand or anything to get the right size and make. I'm also not sure if it is just that or if the whole assembly is having a problem." The half-asleep, half-bothered sounding gentleman replied with, "You have to have a tech come check it out for you.......Gerber's common........" Okay, are you training me to do your job or are you supposed to help me? So send a tech!! How about, "A tech will have to come out to help you, I can set that up now for you if you'd like!" No, he was halfway through another explanation of, I think, why this is my problem and not his when I just hung up. The entire call had the air of, "Okay, and what do you want me to do about it? I'm just a plumber." I didn't even get to the experience of working with these people because of this awful, patronizing phone etiquette. If this is your business, please get someone half alive to answer your phones in the future so I can even get to the part where I give you my money, which is all I wanted to do.

Sara is snotty, has the most condescending tone to her monotone voice and honestly couldn't care less about the customer, or maybe that's just how Winthrop Fuel is as a company. I would highly recommend Main Street Fuel, if they deliver in your area!! How does a company come out, right after you move in, top the tank off which was half full, I DID NOT request a fill, and right before Christmas they slap me with a $565 oil bill!! This company does not extend credit, which is bizarre because Main Street Fuel ALWAYS did, as long as you were a good paying customer, of which I am. I hate this company and I can't say enough bad things about the dink in the office! May I suggest having some compassion for the next guy, or maybe get out of the customer service business Sara, you don't have the personality for it!! This company is a disgrace and should be ashamed of themselves, I will never use them again in the future.

I moved to my future brother in-laws 4 unit building. I applied for propane delivery with Winthrop fuel. They saw on my application that I was sisters with the landlords fiance and because they couldn't reach them both about unit C (I'm not in that unit, it's vacant), they called ME. I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH UNROFESSIONALISM. They called me to get in touch with my sister to let her know unit C is "dangerously low" and they couldn't get in touch with the landlord or property manager (my sister, who is the second largest management company in the state). Regardless, why are you contacting a tenant to get in touch with the landlord or property manager when it's upon the account holder to maintain their fuel level?? There is no sub landlord account, so why are you targeting me? Sue was the most rudest person ice ever encountered over the phone. My fiance had to drop of physical paperwork to apply because maine has a technology problem, and when he did, he encountered the people problem. His own words, "I went there and the lady said, "while you're doing that I'm gonna do this...as another person interrupted her and said, no, you should help him and finish him up" seriously cannot be bothered to assist in person, or on the phone! But that's the thing, they called me to ask to get ahold of my sister about a tenant who moved because they can't connect with either of them. So I try to help and get the worst treatment by Sue and give up. There is no way someone from the South would tolerate these people. He'll I was born in Lewiston and I'm embarrassed to say that this is what we git here. Y'all switch or go to Fabian.

And they can't afford to pay their employees to do their time sheet so they charge the customer $150 hr for the Technicians to fill out their time sheets in your driveway. Listen, if you won't pay your employees to fill out their time cards, you clearly do not respect your employees, not at all. And if you can't afford to pay your employees to fill out their time cards, you shouldn't be in business. The customer should be paying for service/parts, not the cost of running YOUR business. Criminals.

Personally, I think this is probably the best gas station in the area, mainly b/c i think it might just be the only gas station in the area, but again that doesn't mean anything if it were a bad gas station. Instead, it's a well run gas station with plenty of gas pumps and the ability to pay with cash or card. There is a nice convenience store where you can buy snacks and load up on things you may have forgotten to bring from home or beef jerky or some nice refreshing drinks such as Arizona Green Tea with Jasmine and Ginger. If I ever go to Maine again, I hope I can come here again if I drive this route b/c it's clean and the gas prices are good. They do business the "Old-Fashioned" way - It's called "Good-Will" - intangible, yet they embody a highly valued priority - it's the lost art of building customer loyalty via personal service. Often that may include going beyond. They earned my respect & gratitude; not to mention my patronage! I value the concept as foundational & an asset that may not show up on a spreadsheet. Having been a business owner for 16 years, Goodwill coupled with benevolence were the cornerstone of my philosophy! It goes unsaid that in the current unprecedented times, it's refreshing to see & be reminded that there is goodness in our friends & neighbors! I called Maine oxy in CT to repair a miller 350 synchcrowave tig welder for a low power issue…read more They picked up the the welder and sent it to Maine for repair the next day. After 2 1/2 weeks of poor communication when the welder will be returned, the repair ended up being a bad toggle switch on the panel. The report said the welder tested good when it left their shop. I go to use the welder once it returned, and not only is the power line to the torch burnt out, but now it leaks water all over the floor. The radiator for the Bernard cooler has a big crack in it from being frozen while sitting on the truck in -30 degree weather. I reported the problem to them on 2/9. 3 weeks later they offered to install a new cooler for free... I just need to pay for the cooler!!!!!!!!!! My cooler was working fine, with no leaks, when it left my shop and working fine when it left their shop. It worked fine when the welder left the repair facility in Maine, but was a disaster when it arrived back in CT. It is now 3/16. After many Emails and a few phone calls. They have not gotten back to me with an offer to replace the cooler or even repair the old one. In my opinion this is a poor company and a terrible way to conduct a business.
