He was gracious, asked how I was doing, wished me a quick recovery, and went out of his way to personally contact Turo on my behalf to get the block lifted. Think about that for a second. I had inconvenienced him -- completely by accident, but still. Plenty of people in his position would have been (understandably) annoyed and left me to sort it out myself. He chose to spend his own time helping me instead. That kind of character matters anywhere, but especially when you're buying a car. The used auto industry has a reputation, fair or not, and the difference between a good experience and a bad one almost always comes down to who you're dealing with. This guy is the real deal -- honest, personable, genuinely kind, and the type who goes out of his way to take care of people even when there's nothing in it for him. On top of all that, the vehicle I rented from him was a blast to drive and clearly well maintained, which tells you something about how he treats his inventory too.
