Dean and deluca is hit or miss depending on the shift. The morning shift workers is not so friendly and clumsy. When I walked in at 8am opening, I was greeted by barely-there enthusiasm, when the 2 female workers started talking together, they were so distracted from their jobs, they almost dropped my sandwich on the floor. The after lunch workers were better and more attentive.

Very cute cafe/store. Noticed a ton of tourists swarming this location and looking for the ever-so-popular Dean & DeLuca tote bag... so basic.. LOL Service was fast and friendly and they were actually pretty busy (whoa) I usually avoid this place because I know this is the Japanese tourists' favorite spot but I decided to blend in LOL The desserts were great. I liked how my mont blanc looked like a Christmas tree :o very festive. The taste wasn't too sweet and the flavors complimented each other and had a nutty choco taste. My friend got the ube and hers was much richer compared to mines which was lighter but had great flavor. Overall great experience. They have a few tables outside where you can set up and chill outside of their establishment. Really nice place to chill. I'd love to come here on my own time just to relax.

My friends and I love sitting outdoors at this Dean & Deluca because of the view. On a nice day, it is the most picture perfect outdoor cafe seating in Honolulu because of the covered outdoor seating paired with delicious pastries and coffee and the view of the brand new park. Their display case is filled with high end cakes and desserts. I've tried their Sencha tea and Flat White coffee before which I enjoyed. The staff is always friendly and there's free parking a short walk away.

Love the coffee! Their pastries look quite fancy, but only got their breakfast sandwich. A little overpriced but loved their location, the seating, and the friendly staff. Would come back if I'm in the area.

Stopped in for a quick to-go order and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. The iced matcha raspberry latte sounded a little unusual, but it totally worked. The matcha was smooth and earthy without being bitter, and the raspberry added a light fruity sweetness that made it really refreshing instead of heavy. Not overly sugary either, which I appreciated. Also grabbed some focaccia bread to go, and it was soft, fluffy, and full of flavor. The outside had a nice light chew while the inside stayed airy and tender. Perfect for snacking on its own or saving for later with a meal.

Man.... I have been to this type of place before. Beautiful looking bakery. Beautiful looking pastries, cakes, breads. Everything high class. You buy with anticipation because everything looks so good. But when you take it home, you know the truth. Although it is beautiful on the outside, the truth is that the product is not that good. When I mean not that good, I mean you have a reference on what you bought and the your taste tells you that the cake is dry, the bread is dense and not as tasty as it looks. I've been to these types of places before. So much work put into beautiful things, but somehow fail at the simplest of things, taste and texture. But instagram worthy for sure!!!!! Espresso pretty darn good though.

Newest D&D on the island in Ka'kaako. Love this area. Smaller space and with construction happening around, not the best ambiance, though. All 3 locations have different merch with some that are staples at each. Lots of dessert and local - not to be missed especially this is now the closest to me since the one in Napa Valley has been closed for sometime. Staff is friendly so that always helps.

Not sure what the hype is about, this place felt like a very average cafe and bakery. Coffee: My husband got the cold brew, and it was... fine. Not watery, not too strong, but the overall flavor was bland. I got a regular matcha latte, and honestly, it was disappointing. Way too sweet with the vanilla bean syrup, super watery, and I could barely taste any matcha. I think Starbucks might do a better job--and I don't even drink Starbucks anymore (IFYKYK). Bakery: The cheesecake looked promising--light and fluffy--but it was too wet for my taste, almost like it hadn't set properly. We also tried the Mont Blanc, and it was underwhelming. The chestnut flavor was nice, but the whole thing was just a mountain of whipped cream on top of a soggy sprinkle of crust. Overall: Very mid experience for a first visit. I might come back to try something else, but I'm not rushing.

I've been to so many and each and every one is very unique where you can find either fashion runway stage, live street art, or even a dance night in the barn. I just love the vibe SALT and surrounding Our Kaka'ako brings with the vibrant art we're so blessed to have and this particular night (November 19th) there was actually much more shopping just perfect for the holidays and the party went further down to Ya-ya's. Tonight I was fortunate to have gone after work so I kept it short but found some awesome treats. Some straw toppers to add to my holiday gift giving and some cheesecake cups (OG, Strawberry and Cookie Butter) of course I got one of each to share...ate the Strawberry which of course omg was yummy!! Not too sweet as the Strawberries was just perfect as I tried to get an even scoop of it all in every bite. Walked further down and honestly wasn't in the mood to wait too long for anything found something that would just exactly work for me. Ya-Ya's Chophouse & Seafood and tonight they had two items - Steak Kebabs - Fat Fried Rice with TAB (aka Thick Ass Bacon lol!) I seriously wanted the fried rice but thought that the Steak Kebabs was more sensible for me personally and it came with two kebabs each fully loaded with steak, mushrooms, peppers and onions with a huge scoop of rice! So many options I really was considering including Henna from Henna Happens, Birria Tacos from Dolce Vita, Corn from Corn Onoz Hawaii but though there's always a next time yes!?! I remember pre-pandemic Yelp had a booth here and hoping as things return to normalcy that we'll see it back again one day (hint hint!) With the recent flood happening at the end of March, and our trip being in early April, going to North Shore wasn't advised. While we have some great Hawaiian garlic shrimp spots in Arizona, we had to at least try to get some garlic shrimp while on Oahu. We gave this place a try just because we were already in the building. It wasn't a choice we made prior because honestly, I would have suggested trying a more well-known spot like two miles away, haha! We shared a $14 Shrimp with Original Garlic sauce on it and made it a combo with rice, a scoop of potato mac salad, and regular salad, $14 + $6. Sam's Kitchen was okay. I would have loved to have the shell-on but this place does not offer shell-on shrimp. Still, they make a decent garlic shrimp.

He's originally from Philly, and as someone from the East Coast, I immediately felt that warm hospitality. John is so sweet, he even offered me the hot dog on the house... completely unexpected, but a true reflection of John's demeanor. I went with the chicken hot dog "John style" (well that is everything but the sauerkraut). I wasn't hesitate about the mustard because I'm usually not a fan but the staff insisted it was more like Dijon mustard anyways. The hotdog was loaded, flavorful, and way better than I expected for someone who usually keeps it simple with the toppings. The bun broke down a bit from all the toppings, but that was to be expected with all the toppings loaded on there. You can't beat the location, it's right outside the Ilikai by the lagoon though the service alone makes this an easy five stars. I'm really happy this ended up being one of my last food experiences living in Hawaii. I'd be eager to see John and his staff again if I return.

When I finished putting in my order, the worker had asked me if it would have been just one or two hotdogs. I answered him by saying yes just one. Which he then responded by saying, "what, would he rather have a pho?" Clearly seeing my boyfriend was Asian, that was his question for us just getting one hotdog. He said it as if it was funny. I left it alone and waited for the order. I just don't get the point of him having to say that. He didn't even pronounce "pho" right either, he pronounced it as "foe." As for the hotdog itself, it is good. It is on the pricier side of $11 for one but for the price you get with the bun, polish sausage and toppings, it made it for it.
