I've been going to the same stylist for over 10 years so, as many can relate, going to someone new can be terrifying, especially if you have crazy hair like mine (naturally curly but fine). If I just wash and blow dry, I have the perfect 80's frizzy hair band hair ... really not the look I want. I needed my roots done (color) and a trim. My stylist was Kyle and not only was he incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, but also an absolute LOVE! He suggested adding a few highlights to blend the top with my fading ends, which I agreed to. My hair is quite long and I want to keep it that way and he gave me the perfect trim to freshen it up, increasing the layers around my face. I'll admit, it was expensive ... but TOTALLY WORTH IT. Just moved to area and looking for a new salon. You are unable to make reservations online, they ask you to call instead. I called and told the gal at the front desk that I was new to the neighborhood and looking to schedule an appointment. She said that she had a customer in front of her and would call me back and apparently took my name and number. It's now been over 90 minutes and nobody has contacted me. read more

They responded and I felt the need to clarify once again. 45 minutes for hair removal? Tangled hair extensions? Very unlikely. Hair extensions cost a lot of money, personally always try to take of these things. I would always ask Mickey for tips to best take care of the hair, even after removing them myself I would wash and brush the hair. I would remove the glue/tape attached. I would bring them in brushed and ready to be taped in. 45 minutes is an EXAGGERATION of Mickey to say, especially when she even had help. If you need help for hair extensions AND it takes you "45 minutes" to apply, that's more of a time management issue on your end, not mine. Consulting the price with me. Yes this establishment does go over the price with you and I agreed to a haircut the first time to better fit the extensions. The second cut however was never discussed and as stated, the "haircut" bit happened really fast. When I asked Mickey what can I do about my dead ends on my extension I really just wanted tips and tricks or a cream recommendation. I was not looking to add another service. And after each appointment I told her I'd like to reschedule for reapplying extensions... Mickey will then proceed not to me but to the lady at the office and list: Hair extension removal Hair cut - why if I didn't asked for it? Hair wash/blow - again, why if I never asked for it? Hair extension. Mickey didn't consult this with me she would talk 1:1 with the lady at the office. That's where the misunderstanding lies. I was lucky to have gotten to the lobby in time (as you wrap up, you take a few seconds to enjoy the finish look, am I wrong?) to hear what she said. I talked to the lady and made her take most of the services down after Mickey left. Again, this was a bitter experience. If you want professional work done, I'd suggest somewhere else without all the hassle. And tip number 1 ASK MICKEY WHAT SERVICES SHE PLANS ON CHARGING YOU FOR. Don't let her rip you off like she did to me. read more

I am a little late on updating my review. First, I have to acknowledge Sebastian from Salon Drew who did an AMAZING job with my hair. My hair was dry, dead, and lifeless and Sebastian completely transformed it. I am more than pleased with his work. He really is an artist ;) In all honestly, I take back the review I wrote a few months back. There was mistake/oversight on the salon's end, but it was addressed, and my experience when i got my hair done a few weeks ago was great. Everyone was so nice, pleasant and professional from the person who scheduled my appointment, to the girls at the reception, to the other hair stylists. ANDDDD Salon Drew looks dope af . The layout, design and atmosphere at Salon Drew is hella different than any other salon i have been at ( i mean it has been many but still- i know things) . ALSO, their iced cucumber water is bomb. She's so sweet and definitely hits it on the spot with meeting your goals and expectstions for what style or color you want. I would come in with pinterest ideas about the type of balayage I want to go for and I usually seek advice as well to see which tones would look good with my skin tone. She is very patient and will work with you to leave the salon feeling like a new, rejuvenated person! Throughout your experience she will notify you as to what shes doing with your hair and product she is using on your hair. She makes the overall experience great. I have moved since to Northern CA but I still come down to see her because I haven't been able to meet any hairstylist that I feel confortable with than her! So seeing her is worth the drive! COVID set-up: They have their stylists on split shifts so only half of the stylists are in in the AM and other half come in the PM. Every time I see her she creates a seamless blonde balayage and understands how to work with fine/wavy hair to prevent breakage when you decide to level up in one appointment. I have been to Dean Anthony salon twice now, and most recently my visit was with the stylist Becky. I chose the location based on good reviews, and it is about 5 minutes from where I live. I will start by saying I am not a salon girl, I'm a Supercuts girl. I get a cheap trim and move on with my life. However, I got sick of my long, one length, virgin hair and wanted a change so I went to Dean Anthony. I told Becky off the bat that I wanted to go much lighter, I wanted a big chop, and I liked the idea of curtain bangs. Becky - bless her heart - brought me back down to Earth by explaining the pros and cons of my ideas. She took the time to understand my normal hair routine (which is literally nothing. I wake up and brush my hair and put it in a claw clip and start my day). Based on that, she made great recommendations about the fact that curtain bangs may not be a good move for me, since I wouldn't take the time to style them. She also suggested we be a bit more conservative on the dramatic cut I wanted, and I am glad she did. She ended up doing a beautiful foilyage (am I spelling that right? No idea) and a really flowly, layered cut. The results were great and I LOVED my hair, but the best part of the experience was Becky. She took her time with the service, didn't make me feel like an idiot for not knowing anything about hair, explained things in depth, made polite and educated recommendations toward my requests, and had me laughing my ASS off the entire appointment. It was such a hot day but my hair and make-up lasted beautifully! She knew exactly what look I was going for- loose beach waves and a soft look. Becky is also so funny and friendly to talk to! It wasn't awkward with her and conversation did not feel forced at all.
