The Non-Slip Pet Friendly stair treads that I purchased from Dean flooring have been life changing! Angel, our 60 lb. Collie with elbow and hip dysplasia can now go up and down the stairs easily. (I used to have to carry her because she would slip on the oak stairs.) I simply put the treads in place and they stay. I vacuum right over them and they don't move; they look as good now as the day we put them in two years ago. I removed them at one point to repaint the risers, replaced them, and they still hold tight! I chose the indoor/outdoor gold and had them edged in a sage green for our beach house on Cape Cod, and they look great. The people at Dean were very easy to work with and gave good color advice. These treads are worth every penny; no tape or staples to ruin your stairs and there are so many products to choose from. The first set of treads were so great that I bought a second set so Angel could also go down to our basement when she wanted to. I've recently purchased the leopard print treads for our new/old home in Charleston, SC so that Angel can navigate the grand staircase in style! My understanding is that all of the treads are cut and bound to order, which is great because it gives you options, but not so great if you want them shipped the second you order them. Ordered from them years ago and liked the product. Pricey, but good. Recently ordered, FORTY DAYS ago, and nothing. Called the customer service number, and there's a voicemail saying to email them...at a proton mail account - which is the cheesiest mail service provider under the sun so right there, suspicious. They don't even have their own email server. Now I'm seeing reviews from this year on Yelp that they are dodging customers and saying they won't issue a refund. And the kicker, when you call, during hours, you get a voicemail that ends with "have a blessed day." I'm so tired of shady people hiding behind religious dogma. My next call with be to the Credit Card company to dispute the charge. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. And my favorite - they've locked down reviews on their site because they know they are defrauding people. I ordered from them directly and when I try to write a review, they block me. Good news! Copying and pasting my Better Business Bureau complaint, which should tell you all you need to know: On 11/21/2022, i placed an order for a set of stair treads. After several months of no shipping, i followed up, was told that the order was being worked on, but still nothing. I followed up again on 2/6/2023, and was told that the original carpet was on backorder. I was given the choice to select another color, which i did, and was told it was available. I followed up again on 3/13/2023 and was told it was being worked on and would ship soon. More than two months later, on 05/24/2023, i emailed again since it had not shipped, and was told that the new color I selected was also on backorder. Not a good experience... I found Deans online while searching for the carpet treads I had in a previous house. Got the impression they were the best quality treads out there. Spent a ton of time on the site picking my treads. Payment went through immediately but never got an update on the order. A few weeks in, I started emailing them for help. I ordered stair treads back in October 2023 from Dean Stair Treads. On October 30th, they charged my CC for the order. Their website claims that orders ship within 2-3 weeks. Today it is January 22, 2024 and I still do not have any stair treads. That's three months! All I get in response to my inquiries about ship date and an update on my order are generic emails--no ship date, no nothing. After emailing and asking for updates five times over the course of the last 2.5 months, someone called and left me a message on January 11th, saying "it looks like we were out of the gold thread needed to finish your order, but it also looks like it was back in stock in December, so I am not sure what the hold up is. I am going to check with the warehouse and will have someone get back to you via phone or email within 24 hours." No one followed up with in 24 hours. No one has followed up at all. No one answers their phone. Their voicemail box is full. I cannot contact them via their FB page nor leave a review there. They will happily charge your credit card without disclosing that they do not actually have the material, will give you a runaround for months, and then may fail to issue a refund when you finally realize that you're never going to get your item. If you have been overly patient, as I was, you may discover that they have managed to snooker you into waiting until the timeframe for easily submitting a payment dispute with your card provider has lapsed. More than seven months after taking my order and payment, the vendor has still not fulfilled the order, and has been completely unresponsive for the last 2-1/2 months to repeated requests by both email and voicemail for status updates, and, finally, for order cancellation and refund. I placed an order for bullnose stair treads on March 6, 2023. At the time of the order, the vendor charged my credit card in full. At the time of my order, there was no indication that the item materials were backordered. Beginning with a status inquiry about three weeks after placing my order, the vendor repeatedly claimed "supply chain issues" and indicated expected receipt of materials within timeframes ranging from 2 weeks to "about a month". On July 7, 2023, I requested the order be cancelled and refunded, and the vendor indicated by email that day that they would do so. As of July 21, no refund had been issued. When I contacted the vendor that day, he indicated that he expected the material in "2-3 weeks", so I opted to reverse my cancellation request. (Hindsight being 20/20, the fact that they had not processed the refund in two weeks should have been a huge red flag!) Unfortunately, that was the last I heard from him. Since then, my repeated contact efforts (emails and voicemails) for status updates, and eventually order cancellation and refund, all have gone unanswered. When I contacted Paypal to get a refund, they told me they could not do anything, because more than 180 days had elapsed since the original charge. I initially got a similar response from my credit card issuer, but a supervisor was eventually able to initiate a provisional chargeback, subject to potential response from Dean Flooring. As it turns out, my experience is not unusual. Dean Stair Treads has a BBB grade of "F". According to the BBB listing: "BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints alleging slow or non-delivery of purchased items and poor customer service and communication. Consumers allege that after paying for items online or over the telephone, the items arrive late or take months to be delivered. Some consumers who attempt to discuss purchases or receive updates are either unsuccessful or given incorrect information. I had a VERY unhappy experience with this company. They took my money in September 2023, almost $200, and never delivered the product. I see the website is not even active any more. Why isn't the State of Georgia prosecuting them for consumer fraud? Our money should have been returned if DST was unable to deliver the product. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in January, telling BBB I would give DST until the end of March to deliver my product, a most generous offer, I believe, as my order was placed in September!!! I never heard back from BBB and I never received my money back. Georgia people, you should complain to the Attorney General.
