I was finally able to make it into the upper west side's newest hot spot. I have to say, it was LOUD in here which definitely took away from the ambiance. I started with a Hugo Spritz which was nice - and I loved the glass it was served in. To eat, you have to get the dips - we went for all 5, and I enjoyed them all except the babaganoush was a bit bland. The laffa bread served with the dips is exceptional. We also tried the Falafel which were good and I liked the sweet potato variety best of all. The Zucchini Latkes were also pretty tasty, and I think my favorite item of the evening were the Crispy Maitake Mushrooms - the savory and sweet (thanks to the honey) combo was so unique here. Dear Margo is a nice addition to the UES. The service is attentive and friendly. The restaurant also has patio doors that allow indoor diners access to the outside. The best of both world, if you ask me. When you go, I highly recommend you order the Crispy Maitaki Mushrooms (not pictured). Skip the artichokes -- they're just okay. From the beginning to the end, the service was wonderful! The vibes inside and outside were a great - we chose to sit outside because it was a nice day out & there was a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating available. For starters we got the trio of dips with the bread and it was good - we tried the hummus, baba & cucumber yogurt. They were good but nothing amazing, but the cucumber yogurt was definitely a standout. The chicken schnitzel was actually unreal & lived up to its hype!! The portion was very big so hope you're hungry or definitely a good to share entree. My friend got the falafel sandwich and said the falafel was pretty soft and flavorful. The complimentary frozen yogurt was delicious!! It's serviced with an orange marmalade and pistachio crumble and it was just perfect. Friends were able to snag a table at this impossible to get into restaurant. It's a unicorn. The space is cute. The crowd is a mix of instagrammers and geriatric UES residents. The staff are lovely. The food is mind blowing. The lafa bread was revelatory. The baba ghanoush and grilled artichokes were awesome. My wife really liked her branzino. The boss order in this restaurant may be the chicken schnitzel sandwich. It's big enough to share. It's accompanied by amazing chips and salad. I had the chicken schnitzel entree, in an attempt to stop eating bread. It was really good, but next time I'm getting the sandwich. There's complimentary Greek yogurt with toppings for dessert, which was just right. The prices are inexpensive for Manhattan. Something to note is that the pace of the meal moves quickly. It would be easy to be in and out of here in under an hour. My suggested strategy is to order something off the reasonably priced wine list, peruse the menu, order appetizers and wait a little while to order entrees. It's frustratingly hard to get a dinner reservation here, otherwise we would be regulars and explore the rest of the menu. In the meantime, it's reservation roulette. read more

I was hoping it would be and explosion of flavor but quite standard. 4/5 Duo falafel - the sweet potato was better than the original. 4.5/5 Spinach and Feta cigars - one of the better things we had. 5/5 Mediterr-Asian salad with chicken thigh skewer. Salad was good. Could have done without the chicken. Salad was a 5/5. I hesitate to write this review as this restaurant was already crowded; and there is good reason. This was a special birthday celebration for a friend. The menu was filled with so many interesting options that it was challenging to decide. After much conversation, this is what we chose. The beet spread, a beautiful shade of pink, was a combination of beets, tahini, shallots, olive oil and spices . It was accompanied by freshly toasted lavash (the size of a large dinner plate) complete with large shears for cutting. Clever and efficient. The grilled artichokes with a side dollop of horseradish aioli were SO good that I can't wait to have them again. Next, tasty zucchini latkes and last, but definitely not least, spinach and feta cigars. This was a wonderful mixture of spinach, leeks, feta and garlic wrapped in phyllo, again, accompanied by a yogurt dollop. To help wash all this down we each had a refreshing lavender Arnold Palmer. As a surprise, the waiter brought each of us a bowl of their homemade frozen yogurt topped with orange marmalade and crushed pistachios. This was not only a lovely surprise, but made my taste buds dance! My friend's bowl, complete with a birthday candle, sparked a rendition of happy birthday from the waiters and surrounding patrons. I guess this is popular and newly opened restaurant. I was disappointed yesterday around 5:20 PM when there were a lot of tables available inside and the bar is full. This is supposed to be my third visit and I like the food and drinks. I thought there's no reservations to sit outside and there were available tables but they took our tel number and notify us if it comes available bcuz I don't know what the reason was.
