This location offers a swanky ambiance with dim lighting and a very cool, upscale look and feel. I'd recommend this location specifically, or La Loma in general. Complimentary valet parking is also a nice bonus. Food Highlights: * Table salsa - leans heavily tomato-forward but tastes fresh and authentic. * Chile con queso - served sizzling on a skillet which makes for a nice presentation. It hit the spot but didn't knock my socks off. * Grilled skirt steak fajitas: For my main course, I ordered the grilled skirt steak fajitas cooked Medium rare (beef fajitas tend to be my go-to control dish when comparing Mexican restaurants). I was genuinely impressed with the quality of the steak. The fajitas were served with La Loma's Hatch green chile, which was excellent. It included pieces of pork and made a fantastic topping for the steak. The house-made flour and corn tortillas were also very good and rounded out the dish nicely. Overall, La Loma delivers strong flavors, quality ingredients, and an atmosphere that sets it apart.

The salsa itself was very mild with not much spice, but the group enjoyed the queso. While the menu had limited vegetarian options, the staff was very knowledgeable about what was vegetarian or not. I ended up getting the cheese and onion enchiladas which were very delicious. However, I could not get the green/ red chile or the rice that came with it as none of it was vegetarian friendly. Luckily, the enchilada sauce was made vegetarian and tasted amazing. My partner got the chicken enchiladas with rice and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Overall, we will definitely be back.

Always exceptional food, beautiful presentation, with sustainable practices, this is the place to celebrate a special occasion. The current menu, which runs through June, is the final menu by the current chef and it highlights Costa Rican cuisine. The chef and staff have gone to great lengths to showcase this Latin American dining experience. The Barramundi was by far my favorite on the menu, although that is relative among the 7-course meal. Everything we tried was knock your socks off delicious. I love the quiet dining room, with a chance to visit with others sitting near you at the chef's counter. Their fermentation program is second to none. One thing that always makes a meal memorable is the service. The Bruto team takes care of everything and knows just about everything food or drink wise. Again, I counted the kitchen staff: The ration is 1 to 2, meaning you will feel like a VIP with the personal interaction. It's not fake either; these young men and women want you to have an enjoyable and memorable time. What an impressive restaurant and food laboratory where they are always pushing themselves for tasting excellence. Bruto = passionate knowledgeable people

The kitchen, 18-seat dining area and foyer are all one open, neo-industrial space in which concrete and steel are somewhat softened by lighting and splashes of color from food or dishware. They have two groups of seating per evening, one around 5pm and the other at 8pm, which they stagger into 3 groups each so food can be batched and presented appropriately. Everything is thoughtfully curated and choreographed, from the beverage selection to the portions of the plating that you get to see between courses. But the choreography does feel a bit stiff and cold at times. While the maitre'd was lovely, it was harder to engage with the other staff. I generally avoid alcohol pairings (my taste buds get overstimulated after the first few rounds), but I did enjoy my cocktail from the a la carte menu. Through our 7 course tasting menu, we explored a fun fusion of local and Central American cuisines. The bread mentioned in previous reviews is gone, but we traveled from ocean, plains, and forest in various presentations of small plates. Some of the bites seemed less inspired (of course adding pate and caviar is going to feel fancy), but other courses like the red snapper ceviche and chocolate + papaya dessert were playful, tart, and funky. You can tell that sustainability is also a huge part of the consciousness here. Be open minded to different flavor and texture profiles and know that not every dish is meant to please everyone. We ended our meal with a copy of the evening's menu as well as a satchet of house-made spices meant to evoke the essence of this Costa Rican fusion. I appreciated the effort that went into each course's preparation, but I don't know that I would pay for another experience even with a different menu.

This location of Los Chingones surprisingly exceeded my expectations today…read more During the USA vs Australia World Cup game on a Friday (1pm), the place was surprisingly empty. I hence was able to place my to-go order quickly and got my food quickly as well. I got me the Baja Fish taco and Fried Avocado taco along with a side seasonal vegetables to fill my stomach for later. As I said already, service was quick and easy with no delay (as the restaurant wasn't busy at all). Staff were friendly with a very welcoming attitude. I quickly transacted my purchase using one of the credit card (hand held) machines. Later when I was finally ready to eat, I anxiously opened the container. The two tacos and the side seasonal veggies looked small at a glance. And yet I simply didn't want to judge them by their appearance. I hence started devouring the food before I headed myself to the next obligation. And oh wow, they were quite tasty! Both tacos had a nice amount of kick to them and yet they weren't too hot for my liking. Well seasoned with all sorts of good flavors and spices were everywhere each time I took a bite of them. The seasonal veggies also had plenty of "characters in them where nothing tasted bland. Whether my not having high expectations towards the food was the reason, when I had finished eating, I was filled with quite the satisfaction. P.S. I live very close to the DTC location of this restaurant. And to compare the two locations for their ambiance sake, I vote for the Larimer location. The Larimer location is much more upscale than the DTC location in my opinion and it's a great layout.

This was the first stop on a food tour that my friends and I booked as a way to eat and see art. Los Chingones did not disappoint in atmosphere or ambiance. It was lively even at an odd time of the day in between lunch and dinner hours. They served Adobo Chicken Tacos for our tasting here. The others on our tour got the drink package and said the margaritas were FABULOUS. The adobo chicken had plenty of flavor, and the takis added great limon and a little fire. The magic was in the slaw. We ALL appreciated the slaw. When in RiNo, definitely stop in for a decent taco and a GREAT time.
