Doctor DeBruin is trash and I feel bad for his staff. He has no bedside manner and is completely rude. Instead of looking at my grandmas medical history he argued with us saying she hadn't had procedures done that she had just had done a few weeks prior in the hospital. He never had anything helpful to recommend and raised his voice at me over a telemedicine appointment when he thought I was out driving when I was sick with COVID. Dr. Mark DeBruin and his staff are very efficient, responsive and helpful. Dr. DeBruin has extensive experience and he can get to the heart of any problem very quickly. He listens to you and works with you to get to the bottom of your health issues, explains things concisely, and will refer when necessary. I've had a very challenging year with multiple health and emotional issues, and he, along with a few other doctors, were there for me the entire way. Do not waste your time find a good Dr because Dr DeBruin is not it! Lab work came back with high glucose and high triglycerides. Dr. DeBruin said "labs looked good" how can that be when labs are showing numbers highlighted in "RED" by the lab. Of course MORE labs were requested. This is a sports medicine Dr he has no realistic idea of how the average person lives nor does he care. The rest of us that do not live on Dr pay can not afford all the office calls and lab requests. read more

I called and said I am a current patient but need an appointment for Friday for my wife as a new patient. Totally dead voice... "we don't do patients on fridays" I asked about Monday. Totally dead voice... "we won't do new patients for a few more weeks". We even drove over there last week. It says closed between 12 and 2 but the place was locked up tight at 11:30. I would think little miss dead voice would be a little more chipper after a 2-1/2 hour lunch. read more

I've been seeing Dr. DeBruin for over 12 years. He has been there for me on several health changes (I'm getting old). He has the same core office staff since 2013 when I started seeing him. I have since moved out of Orangevale and California. I still see him although I have a 135 mile drive, each way. If you're new to the area or are looking for a new doctor, I would look him up. Help me out here. The last two times I went in for my appointment they took the standard blood pressure. Upon finishing it, I asked what it is. Their response was... "I can't tell you because of HIPAA!" I was dumbfounded and am still. I am a relatively new patient and Dr DeBruin really did not ask many questions on my last two visits except to refer me and his standard "see you in a month." I went to Dr. DeBruin because of weakness in my legs and difficulty walking, he told me to exercise more. I went to another doctor and was diagnosed with hydrocephalus because he took the time to listen to me and run the right tests. So not a fan. read more

Agree with many of the other reviews. Several of the office staff are rude and display no customer service skills at all. They must follow the lead of Dr. DeBruin, who is rude and arrogant as well. Services/treatments are rushed through and strung out over multiple appointments, so you have to make multiple (and likely unnecessary) copays. read more

I have been seeing dr. De Bruin for over 5 years now since my old dr. Retired . I must say he has been very thorough with me since I turned 50 . He continues to assess me for everything I see him for and when I need to advocate for myself he listens. He is very busy and provides many ,his services . But I do think his office process works efficiently for the many patients he has to see. I would recommend him to any body . His staff have been great and whenever I have an issue or condition with my health dr de Bruin has been proactive and honest in his approach . It's actually refreshing to see him . I can relate with Karen's experience. I went to Dr. DeBruin a couple years ago and he was rushed, condescending. He even said something along the lines of "if I seem rushed, I'm not. Feel free to ask questions." That experience kept me away for a while. More recently, a couple months ago, he flat out blew off my email about a serious health concern, I don't expect to hear back from him. Now that I'm looking at his Yelp, apparently he should have told me he was a weight loss doctor. I went to him from a family friend's referral and saw him about general health questions. I called the day before going to get a referral for an orthopedic doctor, but without the "doctor first seeing me" per the office staff, I wasn't able to get a referral. I made an appointment and paid the copay. Dr DeBruin walked into the room without introducing himself or without really asking anything about the arm. He never even looked at the splint I had on or the paperwork I had from my ED visit before storming out of the office. As I was leaving I felt very uncomfortable when he asked me if I was up to date with my Pap smear. What a creep! The fractured wrist had nothing to do with needing a Pap smear and for God sake that's none of his business. That's what gynecologists are for. Sicko! I felt very very uncomfortable after that. I found someone I clicked with but then he left the practice over philosophical differences with the practice manager and I got a new doc and he was careless and obnoxious. About 15 minutes out of med school. This lead me to Dr. Debruin. If you are looking for a yes man as a doc don't bother. Dr Debruin and his staff are very professional. Friendly and courteous with you when you come in and the doctor is as straight forward and tell it like it is as they come. Always offering suggestions to better your health and keeping track of your progress, trying new things if you suggest them and he thinks its a good idea. First the consultation which, is to lure you into forking up over $1500 for additional treatments. The L.S. deal only covered 2 sessions. Well that should be stated somewhere and results are not guaranteed with 2 sessions should be in bold print. Glad I didn't purchase that trap. Waited almost 45min to be seen for the actual treatment. I've come to realize you can't torture yourself , and your wallet. Good ol' fashion excercise (even 30min of walking), modifying your diet, and drinking plenty of water will give you results. Please read my experience at this doctor office before deciding to put your medical care in their hands. I called on a Monday to report extreme abdominal pain and difficulty eating. I was told the doctor was out that week and the earliest I could be seen was the following Monday. I made an apt for 1 week out so I could see the doc and was put with the PA, after waiting 1 week for the doc. The PA quickly ordered tests for the following day and scheduled an apt that following Friday to review the tests quickly since I was having increasing pain and difficulty eating. On my apt, I was weighed in under a different male patient's file and then witnessed a front desk employee berate the CNA in front of me. I waited 40 min beyond my apt time and had to find someone to come see me (patients with apt times after me were seen first). Since I was now late for work, I told the PA I had to leave and discovered she had not reviewed or even downloaded the results of my testing. I told her I was now unable to eat solid food and needed immediate care. She said she would order a CT scan right away. The CT scan was submitted to my insurance just before noon 2 days after my apt. I now have to wait for approval from insurance for 3 more days. The staff has been made aware of the severity and have been beyond rude, not helpful, not at all sympathetic and non-communicative. This clinic should be shiutdown and I intend on filing a complaint. Update: I found out from my new doctor that this CT scan did not even require approval from insurance. De Bruin's office had no idea how to treat me or order a basic scan. They delayed my care by weeks due to their incompetence. I am reporting them to the medical board so that others can be protected from their incompetent medical care. FYI- rudest staff I have ever encountered. read more

Yesterday was my first appt. with Dr. DeBruin. Let me start by giving a shout out to his wonderful staff. They work as a well oiled machine. Each with their individual responsibilities, but working as a team. Dr. DeBruin was very cordial, listened to my concerns and then stated what his suggested treatment would be based on his many years of experience. Let me finish by saying, Dr. DeBruin is not a touchy-feely, hold your hand type of doctor. What he is, is a physician that takes his education and oath very seriously and will tell you straight up what he feels your best form of treatment will be. Yes, if you have questions or concerns he will take the time necessary to cover those. But, I can tell you that I have seen a lot of physicians over my life and I would much rather have a doctor that shoots from the hip and doesn't sugar coat my condition, then one that waste's my time with sub-standard care. read more

I am able to go outside without a hat for the first time since 2016. I have a rare syndrome that causes lots of internal and external problems. One of them is hair thinning, loss, bald patches. I finally spoke with Dr. DeBruin about PRP treatments, I admit I didn't really know if it would help, nothing else had. I had my first treatment in March 2019, and have had 3 more treatments. My hair is now almost exactly the same as it used to be. I'm truly amazed and so happy with the results. He and his staff are so welcoming and friendly. Denise, Tanya and Jeness are very friendly and so knowledgeable. Dr. DeBruin is excellent. He gave me my hair back! He's also a great PCP and has managed my other symptoms so well. I went in for botox treatment. I paid $300.00 for this to done. It was not done correctly or he didn't do the areas he was supposed to. I have been getting botox since 2002. I know exactly how long it takes to take effect and nothing for 3 weeks. I had an appointment and they canceled on me at the last minute. You can never get through on their phone. It's always busy. I am going to reach out again. I either want it fixed or my money returned. I went to another dr and they told me to go back to where I had it done. Pros: The woman at the front desk, Joanne,PA and Crystelle, NP. The office staff is really good about getting you in and the wait time is minimal. Cons: Dr. DeBruin appears to always be in a rush. He talks to you in a very condescending manner. He has been very rude and arrogant with me since my first visit, my husband witnessing this behavior on two of my visits. My Dr. of 12 years had gone out of business unexpectedly and a note was left on his door referring his patients to Dr. Debruin. After approximately 10 visits, I changed primary physicians. Dr. DeBruin saw me twice for a back injury, NEVER touching my back, asking me to walk or bend or any kind of testing, I would be surprised if he saw me longer than two minutes the first time and maybe 3-5 tops the second time. My last straw was when my insurance company told me he used a lesser amount of an injectable. During that visit, he almost didn't give me my injections (after I drove 1 1/2 hours to make my appointment) because he said my insurance hadn't paid him for the last injections. After going back and forth and him wanting me to guarantee payment (which I declined as their office already had authorization for 12 months from my insurance company), he reluctantly gave me my injections stating that this is the last time until my insurance paid. When he said he was done, I remember thinking that it seemed like less needle pokes in my head than normal. (It wasn't until earlier this week that I was made aware that he actually used less which makes me think he did this because of the insurance having not paid for the last visit). Of course after leaving his office as this was the first time I was made aware, I called my insurance company the minute I left and had a conference call with them and DeBruin's bookkeeper (Come to find out, it was HIS bookkeeper that billed incorrectly and left a 0 off). I have been struggling with a hormonal disease for years. After years of trying to sort things out, my endocrinologist thought she had done everything he could. But I knew something wasn't right. Dr deBruin took the time to listen and did a blood panel on me. Seeing that my cholesterol was at 371 and my healthy cholesterol was extremely low, he quickly put me on a statin. This triggered my endo to take a deeper dive and, he found something he had never seen before. In a month, I am feeling better and able to walk five miles a day. If you enjoy your given body and just want a doctor to make you feel better when you are rarely sick or need a routine check up, don't go here. Dr. DeBruin speeds through his appointments and he is dismissive and and condescending when he talks to you. If you enjoy the thought of a doctor office where patient care is completely absent and the doctor won't even remember your name, then this is the spot. Dr. Debruin has made this patient feel like he and his office is not interested in my general health unless I would like Lipolaser. This man should NOT be a doctor! And his office staff is terrible too! My boyfriend, who is on my insurance, choice Dr. DeBruin because he was closest to the house. He had only seen him twice and wasn't overly impressed, didn't get the best feel for the doc, but he doesn't need to be seen often anyway so no big deal, right? Based on the other reviews, we obviously should have looked here first! My boyfriend hurt his shoulder and knee, and he is a referee so this impacts his ability to work. He had an appt today and while there, asked Dr. DeBruin to fill out a form for end-of-year stuff from our insurance co. LITERALLY only height, weight, blood pressure, and fill in the 4 blanks from labs taken a few months ago. Dr DeBruin said he would have to treat that as a separate appt! So, needing the form before the end of the month, my boyfriend chose the form. THIS OFFICE CHARGED HIM A $20 COPAY TO FILL OUT A FORM THAT MY DR DID FOR ME IN LESS THAN 2 MINUTES, AND SHE DID IT DURING ONE OF MY OFFICE VISITS! I've had literally dozens of forms completed during office visits for me and my children and have never been charged for it! This was absurd and SHOULD BE ILLEGAL! Not only that, Dr. DeBruin chose that $20 over treating the medical needs of a patient in pain. I work for an insurance company, and I'm filing a formal complaint with them, I'm calling HR (who asked for the form in the first place) and posting this message on any and every site I can find. I called the office staff to talk to them about this, told them I was calling my insurance company, and the office manager said "Go right ahead, we have a sign out front that says we charge for it." Like that makes it okay??? Greed is obviously office policy. People need to be warned about doctors who put extreme and needless greed over patient care. What a horrible, horrible person! read more
