The crabs are as advertised. Plump with tons of meat. The #1's are better than some Jumbos I've seen. The prices are great, and more than fair compared to other places. I recommend doing walk up instead of drive through, unless the weather is bad. 20 minutes from ordered to off the table and in my hands. All freshly caught and steamed. I wish there was a category for awful because they would win! They use to be really good but for the last few years they've gone to ok to meh to awful. Purchased a dozen number ones. Got home and started to open them and they were light as number two's. Opened the first one and couldn't believe how light, watery and flavorless it tasted. Put it to the side to get another one and this one was mushy! Called them to complain and was told to bring them back and he would replace them. I told him that I wasn't going to go into a storm for a dozen crabs. That was until I opened the third crab and the entire inside was black! Disgusting. I purchased a dozen #1 male mixed crabs for $50. When I got home, they were the worse crabs I've ever seen. Legs and claws were off the crabs and one even had no back on. They were small and the worse part many were hollow. Now we have to go out to dinner. Don't waste your money! read more

CRABMAN SELECTS!! Placed our order through text for crabman selects and received a very fast response as to when we can pick up our crabs. We loved that they responded and sent a picture that our crabs were just freshly caught that same day! The pictures I have attached do not do justice, These were the hugest freshest crabs we've ever had! Very meaty and heavy! Seasoning is based off of your liking. We normally get them "Dirty" but unfortunately their seasoning finished for the day :( We moved to Virginia from Maryland where we would always eat some delicious blue crab but never had any crabs this big before!! I love crabs and this place is amazing . The crabs are meaty and big . Some may say it's a bit pricey however it is worth it. I love that they can customize the seasoning and you have choices if you want the best crabs or if you are on a budget hey have crabs that are smaller but still flavorful ul. The jumbo shrimp was cooked to perfection . I love this place; the only reason I am not giving it a five star because it's so tight to go through their drive thru. Pretty bummed the young woman wasn't more honest or helpful with our first experience here today. We are visiting from our of town and there were five of us who stopped to pick up some crab to take back out to our place. She told us the different quality and guaranteed the males to be best with most amount of meat in them. The poor guys were quite sad and so were we because she sold us way more than was necessary and they were not very good either. Big disappointment. Lesson learned. read more

Pulled into line about 445. Got close enough to the sign that says they are sold out of #1 and #2 male crabs at 530. Totally willing to wait but saw the signs and was more than ticked that the sign was not far enough back to not wait in line for something I didn't want and too far up to turn around----stuck in the drive through, literally. Ordered female crabs and crawl fish. Then have to wait another 10 minutes to hand my order to someone to make it. I get the crabs and now waiting to get the crawl fish. Inefficient process--take notes from fast food restaurants- have someone walk the car line and take orders, start making them, and then pay and give me my food. Seafood has always been great but I will NOT be sitting in a line for over an hour here again! Fix your process! So now that I've gotten the crabs home and seen them, I had to measure them---barely legal size. Use to love this place. Not sure what happened but will not be going back! read more

I love blue steamed crabs and was excited to have a location close to me. Since arriving to NoVA I have become used to purchasing by the size. I was not too happy with paying for #1s and receiving another size. I did receive a few extra crabs but would have liked to have been given an option before making the purchase. The shrimp was steamed to perfection with the option to select the amount of seasoning to your taste for the crabs and shrimp. I liked that all of the juice is drained off of the crabs which helps with the cleanup. I will visit again to see if I have a better experience. read more

Fantastic crabs, fantastic shrimp!!! My wife and I would make a special trip into Fredericksburg to get a dozen of crab and jumbo shrimp. We are both from NY and were unfamiliar with the different types and sizes of crabs. The employees were always helpful explaining the world of blue crabs and shrimp to us. They were always happy to see us when we visited on the weekend to pick up our cache of crabs. The crabs were always fresh and most times caught that same morning!!! Now that's fresh. I ordered jumbo shrimp and crabs today. The shrimp were absolutely amazing big and flavorful but i was extremely disappointed with the crab size. I ordered the #1 jumbo males and asked if they put extra legs in the bag. The lady said the males were their biggest size and they were meaty and to just let the reps know at the pick up line to ask for extra claws. I did just that and got home and there wasnt any extra legs in the bag and the biggest issue of all..the crabs were extremely extremely small. They were small crabs not large males. I have no complaints on the flavor of the crabs or the professionalism of staff but for the price i paid and the travel time it took from the North to get down to them i was extremely disappointed that the crabs were not the size as they advertised. read more

They don't always have the size selection but that ain't something to knock them for since you get what's caught and brought. We got 2 dozen #1 crabs. Most of them were good but some were watery. They were all a good weight. No yellow stuff which I like. The owner was nice some people said he was rude, I did not have a problem with him at all. I did see a woman yelling at him she said she had been waiting a long time, he did not take her crap it was hot and everyone was waiting. Not happy at all! Yesterday we purchased a dozen of crabs for $40, they were supposed to be a mix of heavy and light crabs. We only had one heavy crab and the rest were extremely small. A couple of them were spoiled and The others had a very nasty taste! If we wanted to just give away $40, we could have found a random person and gave it to them. Recently went here WENDSDAY! The crabs were fresh and good but they rip people off by giving them #2's instead of #1's which I paid for. I come from Solomon's Island I know #1 males. Saw a promotion for $1 crabs for the following day but when I went in, they didn't honor it, saying that the workers don't get paid much when they do that promotion.
