Over $65 for a guest slip which was difficult to reserve at the kiosk due to a terrible system combining a parking kiosk, a paper list of available slips, and no obvious way to pay for power which is course cost extra. To add to this less than stellar experience, they have a porta potty that, as they generally are, was absolutely disgusting and not well maintained at all. Took forever to find the slip. Nothing is well labeled, no obvious map at the fuel pump, and the least intuitive numbering schema I've ever witnessed. Two other boaters I kept passing were just as lost having to make unnecessary maneuvers while searching for their assigned slip. Epic fail. I wouldn't dock my boat there again if it were sinking and that was the only way to save it.

We literally saw it on the road, found a parking place, and stopped. I'm so glad we did. The smoked Halibut chowder was on the top 5 soup/chowder experiences I've had anywhere. The Sablefish with fingerling potatoes was excellent and the oysters were fresh and delicious. The service was attentive and professional, and the views of the bay were amazing. (We were fortunate to have had a bright sunny May day) Don't hesitate to give it a go if you love scrumptious, fresh seafood with beautiful coastal views.

The oysters were absolutely delicious, and easily some of the best we've had. We also tried dessert, and it tasted homemade, so yummy and the perfect way to finish the meal. The service was just as great as the food. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and they helped us decide what to order, which made the experience even better. It never felt rushed, and the staff really made us feel taken care of. The views here are outstanding. We were lucky enough to sit by the window, which made the whole meal feel extra special. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy, with a fireplace that gives it such a warm and relaxing atmosphere. They also have limited outdoor seating during the warmer months, which I can imagine would be amazing with the view. Great food, beautiful scenery, and such a comfortable vibe. We will definitely be coming back again.

The Taylor Shellfish Samish Oyster Bar. It's not a restaurant in the traditional sense; it's more of a landscape. We had dozens of fresh west coast oysters, smoked oysters, shrimp, crab, beer, and....a view that made this an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a place that celebrates the food rather than the performance, this is it. Go for the oysters, stay for the silence, and leave knowing exactly where your food came from. Food (5/5): Everything was outstanding. I'm not even a fan of smoked oysters but these were prepared in a way that made them truly amazing. Customer Service (4.5/5): The staff were friendly and readily available. Price (Est. $60/person): It is easy to lose track of the final bill when the food is this good and you keep the orders coming, but expect to spend around $60 per person. Decor/View (4.5/5): The outdoor setting is perfect, especially on a clear nice day, providing an unmatched view of the water.

There's no shade, I think I could see people getting sunburnt in the hour that I was there. I ordered a dozen shucker's choice oysters and received an assortment of 3 different types. It's pretty amazing the difference in taste across the different oysters. They were great! Super fresh and served with a couple wedges of lemon and mignonette. A little different than the way they're served on the opposite coast (typically lemon, cocktail sauce, horseradish, and mignonette. Several of the oysters were pretty large and took some chewing to get through. I paired them with a nice glass of gruner veltliner. Great spot, I'd definitely return.

We started with the crispy calamari with lemon aioli, and everyone loved it -- perfectly cooked, tender, and not greasy at all. A great way to kick things off. For entrées, the Oregon Shrimp Fettuccine with mushrooms and zucchini was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Two of us ordered the True Cod Fish & Chips, panko-breaded and served with their signature ginger slaw and fries -- so good! The other 2 at our table had the lunch special Alaskan Halibut Fish & Chips, also served with slaw and fries, cooked perfectly. And the tartar sauce? Some of the best I've ever had. We were seated at a lovely harbor-front table with a beautiful view that made the meal even more enjoyable. What truly stood out, though, was the kindness of the staff. My aunt and uncle are elderly and move slowly, and one of the wait staff graciously offered to assist my aunt to the table while my mom walked with her brother. It was such a thoughtful gesture and meant a lot to our family. Our waiter, Shayne R., was top-notch! He was incredibly patient, checked on us often, and made us feel genuinely welcome. We'd go back just to visit with him again. Fantastic food, a gorgeous setting, and service that went above and beyond. We'll definitely be back! I cannot say enough about how fun it was to DHOC at this party. We will definitely have them back again this summer. If you are hosting a party, add oysters to menu! They are the difference between a simple party vs. a fun culinary experience for your family and friends. Our friends are still contacting us to rave about the oyster bar!
