Fish taco and chowder combo. Amazingly delicious!!
    Cheol K.

Came here for a lunch before heading into town. Staff were super attentive and professional. Glad I got here before the lunch rush. Got seated right next to the window with a fantastic view of the marina and was able to see the incoming rain clouds. I ordered a fish taco and chowder combo. It comes with chips and a home made salsa. First bite of the taco was amazing. So flavorful and with generous portions of delicious fish. The chowder is always amazing here! Would definitely recommend this combo!

Very nice Eggs Benedict with egg cooked perfectly. Great job chef!!

Let's just get this out of the way... We like Anthony's Hearthfire better :) Our experience at "Anthony's" was fine. We went during brunch hours so the menu was a little limited but we were served delicious blueberry coffee cake as a welcoming complimentary yummy delicious! I got the Eggs Benedict and my husband got the shrimp breakfast bowl. We liked both dishes and I would consider them good. The view is nice but we like Hearthfire better. The service was ok but better too at Hearthfire. One thing that I must mention is the standard for the server's uniforms is not up to par. They were quite dirty (looked like hand wiping in the aprons? Not sure). The overall carpet and booths looked a little tired and unkept. I think I expected a bit more since Hearthfire looked so top notch in all respects. I wanted to compare the two since they are both in the same area and we were really curious and eager to try the other.

Hidden away near the marina in Bellingham Harbor, dinner did not disappoint! Very fresh selection of specials and wonderful service! If it's in season, I highly recommend the alder plank roasted copper river sockeye salmon (say that two times fast!), with mashed potatoes and the most devine lemon beurre blanc sauce. You will thank me! If you have room, definitely order the ahi poke appetizer. Probably hands down one of the best tasting dishes I have ever had! Of coarse, they always serve very fresh sourdough bread with butter and fresh thyme on top, which is also delicious! Lovely view of the marina, and very attentive servers. Wonderful spot if you are passing through town, or want a nice night out!

Nice view but be prepared to pay top dollars for it.

The location is great and the view of the marina is what you are paying extra for. We had calamari, rock fish and salmon which totalled $100 out the door. The food tasted okay, not bad and not great. Brocolini pieces that were served with our fish dishes were touted to be fresh which confused us because all of it should be fresh, shouldn't it? They kept too much of the stem on, they were quite fibrous and tough to chew to a pulp to force them down our throats. Fish filets were a bit oily but cooked well. Rice had weird addition of soggy raisins which tasted bizarre with Cajun flavored rockfish. There was stale pineapple salsa served atop the rockfish. Overall, it was poor value for money for food that I could have prepared better and more of at home. The only upside was the view of the marina.

We stopped in here for lunch before catching a flight out of Bellingham. Beautiful view of the harbor. Nice to enjoy lunch and look at the boats. Service was fantastic! Great recommendations and friendly. Food was good. Not the best we have had and kinda high-priced. Maybe you okay for the view. But it was tasty. Love the bread they give you to start.

    Black cod with miso sauce

Nice ambiance and good services. However, I expected better quality food for this type of location. Their appetizers were okay, but not sure the Chef really used the miso sauce in a thoughtful way. Miso sauce was overly sweetened, so miso was completely lost. And the sauce was poured over bread crumb coated cod, making the bread crumb coating really soggy and slimy.

Nice ambiance and good services. The water views are beautiful We sat in the bar and had a few appetizers and a few pours of whisky. They are very nice and we had great service. The food that we ate was great. We had oysters and a crab dip that was very fresh tasting. We hung out for a few hours just enjoying the view.

Anthony's is always one of our favorites. Our dining experience last night was perfect; food we loved well served, attentive an friendly service and incredible spring-sunset ambiance. A special evening made even more special - exactly what we know Anthony's for! Our server David was incredible, deeply familiar with the menu, knowledgeable in his recommendations, welcoming and friendly in conversation. He made us feel welcome and cared for us perfectly.

A great restaurant on all levels. Not cheap - but you get what you pay for. The food is on point and meets expectations. I have been here over a hundred times in the last 10 years and the service is almost always phenomenal. You can tell the employees like their jobs! And as far as the setting goes, it's on the harbor with windows surrounding you as you stare at the boats and calm water. It's a solid 4 star for sure.

    Silver planked Alaskan Salmon

Impeccable seafood and a wine list that pairs perfectly. Made a reservation for Sunday evening, ladies night and stayed until close! We started our dinner by ordering craft cocktails, and didn't even touch the menu until we had finished the first round of drinks. I highly recommend the limoncello martini, especially if you're a fan of sweet+tart flavors! After our initial cocktail, we moved onto a bottle of Chardonnay to pair with the Silver Planked Alaskan Salmon and Seafood Fettuccine mains. Both were excellent and definitely repeatable. Our waiter was attentive, but did not rush us. We had a great time and would definitely repeat the experience!

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

We came in for an early dinner so we were really able to enjoy the rustic ambience of this restaurant all by ourselves. As soon as we sat down the waitress was attentive and ready to take our order. I order the garden party off their cocktail menu. Snap pea gin, bay leaf vermouth, genepy, saline and pea shoot? I really was feeling adventurous with this one, a regrettable mistake. The first sip I thought I was drinking sea water with a touch of olive oil in it. I never send back drinks although I was close with this one, I sipped it throughout my meal. One critique I have about the cocktail menu is that every drink was over complicated with many exotic ingredients. There was nothing for someone who was looking for a simple craft cocktail. The table shared the Strawberry Panzanella, and once again I was accosted by an overwhelming salty and sour flavor. A traditional Italian salad consisting of grilled strawberry and focaccia croutons. The lemon vinaigrette dressing on this salad was salty and sour, and very overpowering. Unlike my drink we were unable to finish this one. I ordered the Roe Burger, which I had been really looking forward to trying, thankfully this one did not disappoint. Two smash burger patties that were thin, crispy, and cooked to perfection with slices of cheddar cheese on top are then placed on a bed of classic burger toppings. Tomato, pickles, and iceberg lettuce. This burger was served with crispy fries and garlic aioli. After my fist few bites my mind was beginning to change about this restaurant. We also shared the Reuben Croquettes. A super creative and unique spin on one of my personal favorite appetizers. These little fried pocket were filled with a delicious mixture of cheese and shredded corned beef. They were garnished with a small slice of pickle which was a great touch. For dessert we decided to try the hazelnut torte which was fantastic. It had a nice crisp outer layer with a soft gooey center. Lovely flavor and texture that ended our experience at Roe wonderfully. In conclusion our experience at Roe had its ups and downs but I left feeling satisfied. If you are looking for a unique culinary experience I would give this restaurant a try.

Upon entering ( at 4:30pm), I was struck by how many people were there; it was almost full. We were quickly greeted by Mikey (aka; "Yonzo"). Very friendly, very helpful. We received our drinks promptly and ordered food. The fish & chips were generous and tasty. The breading was unusual, but was again, tasty. I couldn't determine what it was, but I would order it again. The bowl of clam chowder was very generous and again "unusual". Plenty of clams and thyme. I would order it again. I went to the bar to request another beer and buy some pull tabs. I noticed the wall of pull tabs was entirely covered with Christmas decorations. When asked, Yonzo informed me that the new owner had not yet completed the process to offer pull tabs. Apparently, a new owner arrived in April of this year (2024). It was interesting to note that the entire place looked to be cleaner, with a very upbeat and friendly atmosphere. In all, we enjoyed the food and had a great time in the "new" tavern. We will be back. After all, this tavern is a piece of Bellingham's history.

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! He then asked if we wanted it boxed to go, which we also declined. His reaction suggested frustration rather than understanding. We never got to try the food, so we can't comment on it.
