I've been here several times now, and I am consistently pleased with the service. I don't often pick one place to come back to, I usually just go wherever is closest and will take walk-ins; but I am pleased enough that I'll drive a bit further to come here. They have several types of pedicures, and I always get the regular now because even their base type it is better than most places!!!!! I got a deluxe mani on Thursday. The actual service was nice, but unfortunately my polish began chipping on Saturday, barely 48 hours later. This is what they look like on Monday, and the polish began flaking off in larger chunks. I have been here many times, but have been disappointed in how long the polish lasts. read more

Most salon in the area closed today due to the Lunar New Year. I found this salon searching online. I called at 11:10am and was able to secure a 11:30am Spa Pedicure and Eyebrows Wax for the same day. The salon was very clean and organized. The staff were friendly. The service was decent and I would return again for nails. I am picky about my eyebrows. The shape of the left was perfect. She took too much off the end of the right. Rough, Rushed, & Unhygienic! I went in for a dip manicure with dip removal and had a pretty bad experience. The technician was pushy, rushed, painfully rough, and using unsterile tools. Full disclosure, I got stuck in horrible traffic and came 10 minutes late for my appointment. I apologized when I arrived and asked if they would still be able to take me; they assured me "yes, yes, it's fine!", so on we went. There were many unoccupied techs and empty tables. The tech didn't want to wait for my old dip to fully dissolve off so she peeled it off and used clippers to rip at it, despite my discomfort, and accidentally dug into my nail once and pinched my thumb another time. She was aggressive and rough with the file and bounced into my cuticles a couple times. I realized that she had pulled the clippers from her tool box, not a sterile pack. She claimed she was just using it to cut the nail...as if she weren't scraping and nipping me. She switched a sterile clipper when I asked. She insisted I not get tips because my nails would "grow out too much". She didn't want to shape my nails until after applying dip, and then layered new dip over bits of remaining stuff. When finally shaping after applying dip, she complained about my nails being so short! She claimed that was why there was dip all over my cuticles above my nail bed as well...and she shaped the gel on top but not thoroughly along the sides of my nails. At the end of my service after applying lotion, she asked "can you pay me know so I can go home?". The only reason I didn't give this 2 stars was that once I picked off the dip on my skin and filed the edges myself, my nails looked pretty good. read more

Treated my uncle, mom and myself to a spa visit. One gel mani and 3 pedicures. The brochure shows an increase in prices, which I get. I wrote down the type of pedis we wanted based on the brochure which I've done there on several occasions and was disappointed to find out once we were seated and feet in water the spa pedicure ($39) was no longer offered. Very misleading. To be told this after we were seated, that the only option was the pearl spa pedicure ($52) which they noted was much better was honestly no different. I ended up spending $204 on pedicures that were mediocre. I will not be returning. My nails were done nicely but overall I'm all set. Never once have I left a review on anything, but I spent 158$ before tip (so 190$ after tipping) on a pedi, dip mani, and "a polish change" for my 6 year old that took legit 11 minutes and they charged us 48$. 1. My 6 year old could've painted her own nails better for FIFTY dollars. My pedicure before the polish was great, but the paint job wasn't good, it's all over my cuticles. My dip mani was even worse, it's about as thick as can be and I cannot ever recommend this place. I spent so much money after I asked them to fix my dip and the manicurist said no.. so I guess I'll eat my 190$ read more

If anyone knows me you know that I am very particular about my nails (all my nail reviews start the same). I was here and asked several times if they were going to be able to do what I was asking for. The application of the tips was less than desirable but I went forward. Also I got dip and it was thick and uneven. I mentioned how the dip was too thick and gave me nail that tear drop effect that I hate so much. She attempted to fix it but t just didn't work out for me. All in a it wasn't terrible but it wasn't great ad with it being dip I have to keep them on for a while to get my money' worth. It lifted and looked tear drop instead of coffin. After spending almost 4 hours in the chair I probably won't be coming back. read more

I got my nails done today at Lovely Nails by one of the ladies.I asked for gel full set and she didn't listen to a word i said.She didn't properly take care of my nails at all.!! she applied the tips and didn't shape them or anything just immediately started applying dip powder when i asked for GEL.I am very disappointed as she didn't buff it or file the nails at all.She cut the acrylic tips with SCISSOR.Not even the correct tools at this place.The nails are chunky and uneven.100$ wasted on these nails. I got a simple flower design and she didn't even do the design right after showing the picture many times. She just did her own thing and didn't even ask me.She added a random red color to my nails without even ASKING ME!. Terrible place and will not be coming back. Period! read more

I have tried because I have friends who use this salon. Finally, after my daughters being mistreated by one of the rudest receptionists I have ever encountered we stopped "trying". I only get gift certificates for friends who fit it the "type" of client they are kind to-then....I get a certificate for a manicure look at it before putting it on gift bag and see the very unprofessional practices have not changed they cross out the value and write in a value!!! I went here for years and was always happy with the work. Once I asked them to fix a dip manicure that was five days old and had chipped. Not the first time I've had a not-so-great experience there, but i went back to give it another chance. I was serviced by Julie, terrible attitude and she's rude, with coworkers and clients alike. Ive heard this from my friends, who no longer go to this salon, but here we are. She does give a killer pedicure, though she used a drill on my big toe WITHOUT CHANGING the sanding bit ( i dont have acrylic or gel on my nails), didn't clean it or throw it out after. I showed her the french manicure i wanted for my nails, she says yes very simple she can do it, she charged me and i tipped her, before she painted my nails. Then she got mad when i asked her to do the French the way it was pictured (she had painted these huge ugly white tips, i wanted a sleeker, thinner look), she says at first i couldn't have that "because my nails" (its a FRENCH MANICURE)!? Then she said it would have to be $5 more (I've already paid and tipped her!). She begrudgingly did the design, then added a HUGE thick layer of gooey top coat, so when i went to dry them, the top coat slid all over the sides of the wall bed. I told the receptionist I'd like to have someone else re-do them, and I saw 4 of them just a disaster and I decided to leave. Had them take the disaster off. I looked around for the receptionist but she was outside smoking a cigarette. Gross I could've gone to Dorchester or something did that kind of treatment and service. No refund, no sorry, nothing. I am furious. I had a dip manicure with lovely long natural nails. I decided to go back to regular manicures. I think the manicurist wanted to hurry to take off the last dip so she used the drill so intensively that it felt hot. My fingernails were so thin after that the topcoat felt cold when it went on. She kept saying how great my nails were. Well.. Upon coming home - 2 nails broke without reason and below the nail line on the actual nail bed. Lots of bandaids needed. The rest of my nails were lucky and just had the color chip (within 24 hours) This is so bad- I am running around with bandaids not lovely nails. read more

Hands (or should I say feet) down the BEST pedicure I've ever had! I went with the Pearl Pedicure per the recommendation of my nail tech Lina. The pedicure was over 45 minutes long and extremely relaxing! The Pearl Pedicure (a six step product line) smelled great, and was $49. I can confirm that the rest of their prices are pretty competitive within the industry and for the area. On to the rest of the salon: it is clean, HUGE, and quiet. There is a wide variety of nail polish colors in both gel and regular polish. While I did not see the back, I was informed that there are private pedicure rooms for groups/events, and that the salon offers facials. All in all I was very impressed. I will absolutely be returning, AND be recommending Lovely Nails to my friends and family! Thanks for a great experience! *as to the people who are whining about the nail techs talking to each other in "their" language... You need to get over that. I appreciate that she takes her time with my service which is a pedicure and manicure. Kristen is so nice, she makes me feel comfortable, and she will add a third coat of nail polish which I appreciate because sometime two coats is not enough depending on color. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is the wait!!!!!! I called for a gel manicure. Made a 4:45 appointment on a Sunday. When I got there, I found out there's a difference in who can do the liquid gel & the gel powder. Only 1 person could do liquid gel (Lee) & she was with a customer. They said 20-30 minute wait. I'm positive I waited 1hr 15 mins. I only waited because (1) yelp reviews spoke highly of Lee and (2) I was there with my cousin. So I waited I have a very low tolerance for pain so getting my nails done isn't always a great experience but she was so gentle!!! Not only that, she did a great job with both my eyebrows and my nails!!! 3 weeks later and I am still getting complements! I'm surprised I haven't popped one yet but from what I can tell, they use good quality products. If it weren't for the gentle care & the great outcome, I would have given this place a 1 or 2 stars. Customer service clearly isn't the priority. For ex: receptionist asks me if I wanted gel powder or liquid & I asked her to explain. When I had addition questions she is suddenly so busy & says "I don't know, I'm just the receptionist". And while waiting 20 years for Lee, the owner/manager Tommy (I think was his name) was clearly ignoring me when so was trying to get his attention to ask for an update. THE RECEPTIONIST IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, RACIST AND VERBALLY ABUSIVE! went to get my nails done FRIDAY & the next day my nails were ruined just from a shower, when contacting this business I was told by the RECEPTIONIST MISSY... "Maybe it was a product you used, it will be $25 to get it fixed"!! In response to her stupidity I stated " I didn't know soap and water would do such a horrible thing, I've been getting my nails done for 15 years the same way and never had this happened". As I asked for a return call from the manager due to online it stating "if clients are not satisfied for any reason, we will reform the services within 3 days. She stated "I didn't ask what it said on the website". I responded " well I just left there a day ago and paid $100, so now it needs to be honored, which is why again I said for the manager to call me". Monday- Contacted BBB :) Tuesday- contacted the business AGAIN, another receptionist answered informed her I have yet to receive a call from the manager. She stated I apologize this is the first I'm hearing about this. When she went to speak to the manager, he apologized relaying the message HE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT IT EITHER!!!!! But will honor me to come get my nails redone. Wednesday- received a call to come in for Thursday night. Thursday.. MISSY approached me "let me see your nails" as I showed her pictures and the horrible nails. As I am getting my nails done, Vanessa spilled finger nail polish removal on my brand new TAN uggs..... when I came to MISSY about what had just happened she stated " let me see, oh it was an accident come on". Then stated " how do we know you didn't come in like that. ( WELLL MISSY CHECK THE CAMERAS) After 10 mins of me asking to speak to the manager. The manager never came out from the back! I had to contact Dedham police (THEY WERE AWESOME) the officer asked the manager to come out, which he didn't. The officer let the manager know we can have the cameras check. As I am sitting waiting for the officer to come with answers, MISSY was on the phone with whomever and labeled me as a "NUTCASE" laughed at me because I called the police ;) stated I can't afford my nails LOLOLOL. (THE PART WHEN MISSY FACE CHANGES) the officer came and stated " the MANAGER stated the girl ADMITTED she spilled the finger nail polish remover on your uggs, take this to small claims in Dedham". I've been going to Lovely Nails for 5 years, and I've always been really happy with the techs, cleanliness, etc. Today I walked in to request manicures for myself and a friend. I signed us in, picked a color, and sat down to wait for my friend to arrive. When she showed up, I was happy she was seated immediately. I sat down next to her, thinking of course we would sit next to one another, as is the custom at literally every nail salon on the planet. And it's been the policy at Lovely as well... Until today. The manager informed me that all technicians have assigned seats, so despite the fact that 85% of the manicure stations were empty, I wasn't allowed to sit next to the person I specifically came for a manicure with. Uhhh....huh?! The manager also said that someone would need my seat REALLY soon, implying that I would have to move. I declined to go across the room to have my manicure, because idiotic behavior shouldn't be rewarded with compliance. I sat next to my friend while she got her nails done, and not a SINGLE PERSON needed the seat I was in. What an absolute trashfire way to treat a longtime customer. Lovely has lost my business, and I'm sure their new "policy" (not on the web site btw) about assigned seats will ensure more lost business to come. read more
