This place had everything I hoped to find! They've been in Torrance for a year and I'm really happy they relocated here from Manhattan. I originally came in just to look for some decorative pots but spent most of my time admiring their entire selection of plants. First off, the pots. They have a LOT. They probably have 1/4th of their space dedicated to these products. They have a wide variety of colors, sizes, and materials. I've never seen a wider selection in my years of indoor gardening. As for the pricing, I'd say they're decently priced. The larger ones certainly ask for a higher price than I imagined but the quality is there and how many times in your life do you buy a big pot? lol Now for the PLANTS! OH MY GOODNESS. It was a dream to see so many amazing plants in one place. They have succulents and large indoor plants as well. The ones that stood out to me (and will one day purchase) are their philodendron white wizards (they had 5-7 of them), alocasia stingrays, alocasia frydek, alocasia polly, and alocasia regal shield. They have a variety of monstera and zz plants, if you're into those. If you're looking for a 4-6 inch potted plant, then the pricing is reasonable. The larger ones are priced closer to 50-100 dollars. Not bad if you're good at taking care of plants. If you don't have a green thumb yet, then buy a smaller plant and learn! The service was helpful too. The gentleman who rang me up helped me carry it to my car given I had to carry my kids. read more

Houseplants, of the non-toxic to cats type, are fairly easy to find...especially here at Deep Roots. It's my new go-to shop when I'm having one of my "crazy plant lady" moments or even when I'm not. I have loads of experience maintaining my favorites: orchids, African violets, peperomia, and calathea. They're what I consider no-brainer plants - once you get a groove with watering, light and caring for these beauties, they thrive for years and years. Getting the groove however, well that's the secret. I spent a healthy sum of money on orchids for my orchid/sunroom. Learning how to care for and grow them took me a couple years, but these daya I can confidently say, I've perfected my process in my microclimate. I love that Deep Roots sells what I need to make me happy and keep my pets safe. Their phalenopsis orchids are tall with big, beautiful blooms. They have several varieties of calathea and peperomia...they're so healthy and lovely, they look like faux plants! Want to brighten someone's day? Any plant here will do just that! Service is smart too. Have questions or need help? The staff here is super knowledgeable. Purchase a plant and pot, they'll pot it up for you for free. Me and my wife came in to see some plants just to browse around and the staffing was so kind and helpful to assist. They have a huge variety of plants and soil selection and not to mention pottery. How long has this place been here?? First time here and love the vast selection of products at a competitive pricing. I found out about this place after driving down Hawthorne blvd and actually read the store name. Since I drive the street regularly, I never read the store names. They have lots of plants and feel like they have more variety than home depot. They have colorful potteries and various shapes and sizes. They laid out their plants and accessories super neatly! There's lots of parking in the back and sometimes Hawthorne blvd gets backed up so might be hard to get out of the parking lot. Will be coming back for more plants for my office cubicle! read more

Can't say enough about Deep Roots. I wasn't expecting much to be honest as far as customer service. But I'm glad I was wrong. Nothing but the most expert knowledge from everyone. My wife wanted a couple of succulents for her classroom and walked away with 2 freshly replanted pots like she wanted. Months later we came in and purchased 2 hydrangeas for our front porch and again nothing but the best service. Yeah the prices may be about 10 -15 bucks more for the smaller plants compared to the big box stores but the quality is better and their service is impeccable. Must try!! read more

I've been eyeing this garden center since it's opened, and finally got a chance to stop by. I was so impressed! The workers were all very friendly as well as very knowledgeable. Their selection of indoor plants was extensive and included different variegations of the same plants as well. The plants are well taken care of and beautiful--i'm so used to trying to resuscitate plants from big box stores, but these plants are already thriving, making for an easier transition. It is on the pricier end, but the care and quality of these plants make the price tag reasonable. I already can't wait to come back! read more

I would give Deep Roots 10 stars if I could. I called in looking for a specific tree. One of the employees Frank answered the call and was so helpful. He went to check the specific tree and size I was looking for. When I went to pick up the tree, he helped me find the perfect pot and was so helpful I ended up buying 5 more plants. He knows everything about plants, and is incredibly patient. They changed the planter sizes in some of the plants so they would fit my pots and they delivered everything within 2 hours. The plants look beautiful! I will never go to another nursery again! read more

It's heaven for any plant lovers with so many variety of indoor plants and good prices!

Signs say no pets allowed, but a staff told me if I can carry my dog it will be fine. I was really there to shop for a pet friendly plant or two, and the staff provided me their amazing pet friendly guide, super helpful with pictures with plant names, so I know what I am looking at. There are so many different varieties to pick and choose from, I ended up getting a big Cast Iron plant with the help from one of the amazing and helpful staff. I could be there for hours if I have to, it feels great to look at all the different plants and feel so refreshed being inside. The plants are all in amazing shape, it was not hard to pick the best but definitely hard not wanting them all, it is an amazing shop! read more

Deep Roots has been my go to garden center for years. Houseplants for me, for friends, family, more for me... Always friendly, helpful service; beautiful, healthy plants and a wonderful display of all kinds of pots, necessities and gifts. This location will be closing up this month and will reopen in Torrance (a block away from my work!) In 2025, which will be dangerous for my pocketbook but will make me very happy. We have been buying our Christmas trees from Deep Roots for many years when they were located on Sepulveda. They were always fresh and last until New Years. Sadly this year our Christmas tree was really dry even before Christmas Eve. Not sure if they used a different grower of they were cut earlier. Very disappointed. Although they might not have the biggest or best selection of pots, I usually bring my own and have them repot my purchased house plant (with an extra charge of course). I have done several a dollars worth of business with this nursery since moving into my new home in the neighborhood a couple of months ago, and have been very happy with both the service and the selection. However, when I went today to buy six large landscape plants, I was treated with utter disrespect, almost disdain, by an employee when I asked for help selecting my plants. I am 60 years old and I don't think I have ever been treated so poorly in a retail setting. I was so shaken that I left and never intend to return. I ended up driving several miles out of my way to Moon Valley Nurseries, which has EXCELLENT customer service and a huge selection. It was well worth the extra driving time. read more

The staff at Deep Roots Garden Center was very helpful and this location has it's own parking lot and what looks to be a very nice selection. So, parking is easy and with their parking lot, it's easy to load up your purchases. I saw they sold venus fly traps, cactus, live lady bugs and other things here, so it's a neat place to visit too. Sadly I never like to get bad reviews especially to local businesses - this is not the first time I have received flowers that were unacceptable. I received a few arrangements from here after my father passed away & I felt they didn't last and were poor quality at that time as well. I just received these 2 days ago and I think the picture speaks for it self. I will say they have fabulous Christmas trees that are pricey but they last - but floral arrangements are an absolute NO. read more
