I didn't realize the sweet had a bit of a kick to it and added a little to much to my sandwich. Didn't care for it. Hoping to try again soon with a different sauce. Organized a work group to visit this restaurant during their Micro Wrestling event. It cost 30.00 to step foot in the parking lot where the event was held and you were required to bring your own chair. No biggie, we chose to order some food and drinks on the patio. Most of the drinks were hot because they kept running out of ice so we settled on Luke warm beer and a pork sandwich. The food arrived fast and the staff were extremely pleasant. I took a bite of the pulled pork where I spent the next 15 minutes trying to chew it enough to wash it down with a hot beer. The meat was so dry, it was like snacking on dryer lint. Gave up on the sandwich after that failed asphyxiation attempt and moved inside to enjoy some music. My coworker who is typically the life of the party was feeding the jukebox and getting the other patrons song requests ensuring everyone in the bar area was having a nice time. I took note of the typical gaggle of drunk girls feebly attempting to bob their derrières to the music. One little filly stood out amongst the herd as the social butterfly, grinding on the other dance participants, male and female. I became aware of a middle aged gentleman pacing the bar area like a neutered house cat glaring at the male patrons. I said self, that one is going to cause a ruckus! A few top 20 later, we moved back to the patio to listen to the local artist finishing up his set. It was at this point, my coworkers fan club, including the leader of the drunken dance team descended upon him as he sat in a patio chair. He indulged the chaos briefly until the neutered house cat quickly approached him, looming over his seat insinuating that he had become too friendly with his wife, the queen drunk. As my coworker was being verbally pummeled by this disgruntled husband figure, the top drunk took it upon herself to join the battery. At this point I stepped between the ensuing attackers and my still seated coworker and asked them to back away. Queen bee then became belligerent, clapping her hands in my face and trying mightily to master the attitude head swivel. Finally the show down of testicular fortitude subsided after a quick insinuation from the house cat that the arms in the car may be required. Sounds like any typical Friday night bar story however there is a twist! The House Cat and the Queen Bee are actually the owners of this establishment. So if you like hot beer, dryer lint and possible violence perpetrated by the establishment owners, boy do I have a recommendation for you! read more

Thanks to Southwest Airlines we had the chance to eat here instead of having pretzels in the air. Finding this spot added a nice touch to our unexpected last minute road trip. Their opening in Elizabethtown is a wonderful addition to the downtown Elizabethtown scene. We also sampled the food while having drinks at the bar, and it was just as on par as I recall from their food truck days. I ordered the ribs, mac and cheese, and the potato salad for my dinner, and the kid got a pulled pork kids meal and some green beans. The ribs were excellent, and the pulled pork was decent. Where the meal fell short was the sides. The mac and cheese was dry and flavorless, barely had any type of cheese or sauce. The green beans my kid got appeared to be of the canned variety, and weren't very fresh. The potato salad was decent, but not the best I've had. Malachi saved the day. We walked in to a very busy restaurant. Malachi quickly seated us up front. We waited and waited. I went to the counter to ask if we should order at the counter. They said no a waitress would be with you. I asked which waitress - they pointed to a lady with a bun and glasses. In front of 30 customers she made a scene saying things like I didn't even know they were seated, can't you see i have a lot of people. A woman looking like a manager starts to come over and walks up to the hostess- a young man named Malachi and he said he'd take us. We were seated right by his stand. The rude lady came over the same time the young man did and was acting like she was going to take our order with big sighs and eye rolls. We told her we'd prefer the young man. He immediately took our order and was very nice. Checked on us several times. Food- unfortunately they were out of ribs- but the brisket and pulled pork was amazing. If the ribs are anything like the rest I bet they are fantastic. We also tried the creamy slaw, vinegar slaw, waffle fries, Mac n cheese, potato salad, peachy baked beans and collard greens. The greens were pretty tough and then only thing we didn't inhale. Everything food wise was great. I had read a review from 20 hours earlier and they talked about how awful the service was. Ok so first time there , we ordered take out and being from Texas I know bbq , I am sorry to report this was not bbq . I ordred the ribs and had potatoe salad which tasted old or something cant explain it and collards , the collards were so hard and had so many little stems in them , they tasted like vinegar which probaly did have some in them ( some folks add vinegar and thats fine ) but I could not eat them , the corn cakes got threw away .Now the ribs I got 3 on my platter , they were small no flavor at all , now when I used the Sause they did have flavor but the Sause is so sugary . The brisket was as close to home smoked as I have ever had! It was juicy and the smoke ring was about 1/8" under the bark. I also had the pulled pork. It, too, was tender with a fruit wood smoke flavor I'd have to guess was apple. We'r should have asked. Came for lunch on a Saturday. They literally had 1 poor lady working the front of house, checkout and dining room. Her name was Jackie because we constantly heard the people in the back yelling it. She was seriously running from table to the door to seat people and check them out and answer the phone. I applaud her greatly for working her butt off. To the food. We ordered fried pickles. They took a long time, of course because I'm sure the kitchen wasn't fully staffed either. They tasted fine and the dipping sauce was great. They were pretty soggy. I ordered the loaded chips with pulled pork. It was a mess. The homemade chips were good, however they weren't even warm. There was only a small amount of pork included. From what I tasted it had good flavor but again was cold. It was topped with queso that was really thin and also cold. My husband ordered the two meat meal and his was also cold. I understand they may have been short staffed due to Covid. Whatever the reason I'm sure the food would have been better had it been fresh and brought out in a quick manner. On Saturday 10/3, my wife and I stopped in as we want to support local business. Parking lot was largely empty and this is at 5:00 p.m prime dining time. We were immediately seated and then waited about 7 minutes for a waitress to come and welcome us and get our order. About 20 minutes later our food appeared. The food looked appetizing but a little off. My wife got the chicken with sides of fries and mac and cheese. I got the chicken, ribs and sides of slaw and fries. The only thing warm on my plate was the fries. Both meat offerings were cold. The slaw was fantastic. On my wifes plate everything except the fries was cold. Where to begin....I wanted to love a local place but 4 people $60 bucks, Sunday at 4pm and it was almost completely empty. You walk thru a line a little like subway and make your choices. Wait for your food, get your own drink then seat yourself anywhere. Between us we had : The pulled pork - would have been decent except it was barely warm. The chicken-sliced breast slabs that was also barely warm, just blah. The greens- flavor was ok but like everything only slightly above room temperature. The mac n cheese- bland, barely warm The cole slaw- different, a vinegar base with way too much dill seed( or maybe it was celery seed) The corn cakes- super greasy cornmeal like pancake served with butter. Hot because they had to cook them. The waffle fries- hot because we had to wait for them , no salt at all. We were very excited to try the BBQ here! We decided to order for take out. When we entered the restaurant there were 5 employees either talking to one another or just standing there. After 5 minutes an employee came over to us and asked how many? No hello how are you...no greeting of any kind. I said we would like to order for take out and she pointed at the menu and walked away. Hmmm... Not loving our first impression. Also there were only 2 tables occupied when we got there. It was midweek and around 7:15 when we arrived so I am not sure why NOONE there was the least bit friendly?? We ordered a pound of pork BBQ a side of vinegar coleslaw and an order of banana pudding. The BBQ was extremely dry and I'm really not convinced it was a full pound. We got a variety of sauces which were mediocre at best. The spicy was the best but quite oily. The coleslaw was inedible. The slaw itself had a taste as if the cabbage was far from fresh at least that's the only thing we could think of that would make it taste so bitter. And sadly, the MOST disappointing for me was the tasteless pudding with bananas that were already turning black. I love banana pudding and always try to sample some over my travels. I've tasted some that was phenomenal and others not so great but I've NEVER ordered banana pudding where the bananas were already rottening. This was the WORST BBQ place I have ever been to! I ordered brisket with a loaded baked potato and coleslaw. Sounds good right. My fiancé ordered ribs. When the food came it was served on metal trays that reminded my of old cafeteria style trays. My brisket portion was very small. Probably about 4 oz. my baked potato looked like the potato had been reheated in a microwave. The skin was wrinkly and very small. I paid extra for the loaded potato but only got a plate full of cheese along with a few scallions. I will not be returning even though my fiancé did enjoy his ribs.
