He was friendly and seemed to know what he was doing. We found out about this company from our neighbors who have used them for years. We decided to give them a try after we found other companies were always booked out, especially for repairs. When your Air or Heat goes out you need it fast, not days away. When our A/C unit sprung a leak (again) this past summer, we decided it might be time to finally replace it instead of repairing it. After contacting a couple of HVAC companies, we decided to go with DeHart after seeing all the glowing reviews and talking with Michael S., who came out and wrote us an estimate on the spot. They seemed to be the most professional out of the bunch, without being out of line pricing-wise, and we liked that they had an all-in price so that we wouldn't get hit with any surprise costs/fees later on. We went with a single stage heat pump and air handler. Installation went okay - the two technicians were nice guys, but it seemed to take longer than they expected and there wasn't much communication from them in terms of status updates throughout the day. They ended up having to come back again the next working day to finish up. In order to get the old air handler out of the crawlspace, they sawzall'd through a floor joist (without consulting us) which I wasn't stoked about - but long story short, they came back and fixed it up properly and made it right. Something also happened with the condensate pump we had, and they got that replaced as well. A/C worked great throughout the summer, and we just recently turned on the heat as temps start to get chilly. After doing some testing, it seemed like it wasn't quite wired up correctly (we were supposed to have our existing heating system set as backup/alternate heat to the primary heat from the new heat pump). Called DeHart, and they came out and got it fixed within a couple of days. So, all in all - there were some issues here and there, but as a whole - we trust DeHart to make things right. We needed to have our A/C and our heater replaced, the heater is in our attic with very limited access. We got 4 bids to do the job and DeHart was the lowest but more importantly they recommended that we have a second return in our master bedroom. We had that done and it made an amazing difference more air was taken in which meant more air was pumped out and there was much less noise of air going in and coming out. Our AC system broke and a technician was able to come out on a short notice to give us a quote, and we were lucky to have the new system replaced within a week. Today DeHart sent 2 technicians: Kevin Prado and Deondre Williams. Kevin took care of the outdoor AC unit while Deondre took care of the Coil up in the attic. They both were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about their line of work. Highly recommended for their service. Although I'm still waiting on two return grilles 20x30 for free of charge. 2 days later, technicians Deondre and Arrik came to my house and replaced the return grilles free of charge. John came out promptly, was professional, personable and diagnosed the problem immediately. We scheduled the motor to be replaced this morning. He was very easy going and answered my multitude of various technical and hardware questions such as alternative HVAC solutions (2nd vs 1st flooring heating and/or cooling unit replacement both wholesale vs piecemeal), hypothetical system configurations, pros and cons of different HVAC technologies (e.g., heat pump, dual fuel, single-vs-multipoint mini-split systems), various compression/pressure readings, HVAC transfer fluid differences (and associated system impact, cost, and availability), price points, band-aids/temporary fixes. All aforementioned queries were answered in detail to my satisfaction such that if I were to upgrade or buy a system or get more repairs, I'd happily go back to him & DeHart Inc.; Michael's knowledgable professionalism was reassuring and created a positive impression for me of DeHart Inc My primary cooling system issue was diagnosed quickly and repairs performed to my somewhat exacting standards while I observed (and questions regarding temperature, pressure, sound, various outputs' air-temp, system & workaround mechanisms were all answered during my observations.) He was also able to quickly assess to my satisfaction miscellaneous other secondary HVAC issues and quirks I had in my multiple systems on my premise. I had some mildly frustrating experiences with various services from multiple unrelated companies in the past, and Michael's from DeHart was a refreshing contrast and relief (really it's what I anticipate from what I characterized as a seasoned smooth/equanimous professional.) Incidentally, I historically I only occasionally bought service contracts and extended warranties and only when I felt they were particularly good benefit/cost ratio. I went ahead and got put on the list- but my appt wasn't until the first of August. Dion was friendly, informative and obviously knew what he was doing. In the nicest way possible he told me I would need to replace my furnace at some point in the future (which I already knew). After waiting for over a month for our appointment because they were so booked, rearranging my schedule to accommodate their only option, confirming the appointment, and waiting for four hours, they did not show. I called at the end of the 4 hour window (rather than receiving a courtesy call from them), and I was told they are moving the schedule around and that this afternoon is the only time they now have available to come out. Our heater went out two days ago and of course this weekend supposed to cool down. Having a four months old at home, needless to say I wanted someone to check it out right away. Called around and other companies were either too expensive or had no availability till next week. When I called Powell, Courtney said they might be able to get someone there in the afternoon. Thank God they did. Their technician got to the house around 6:30pm on Friday, but he quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it. It was the flame sensor. My wife was at home at the time, but she said the technician, Michael, was professional and very helpful. He took the time to answer all our questions. At the end we paid $178, the trip charge being $89 on its own. We find that price to be reasonable, especially on a last minute order. Overall great experience, we'll be signing up to their yearly maintenance plan for sure. read more

I was very happy with the experience, beginning with calling to make the appointment for an annual inspection. A friendly, efficient person answered promptly. The tech, Michael, arrived on time and cheerfully moved his vehicle when I asked him to. He is friendly and loves dogs but stayed focused on the job the whole time. He explained what he did with our HVAC system and what to expect as it ages. He answered all of my many questions. I had a problem with my York D90 furnace so called : short cycles" I initially contacted another co. in Sparks, whose sticker was attached to the furnace, indicating there were working on it in the past. Their technician correctly diagnosed the problem, but gave me astronomical price for the part-10X of what it is on Internet. The tech from Powell not only replaced the control board for a reasonable price, but also indicated that wiring was wrong, which I suspect the guy from previous co. did to force me to come back to them. it was fixed under 1 hour term and the owner- Darrel honored my senior discount, which certainly a nice gesture.
