The Deka Lash in western Springs came to my rescue when the other location canceled my appointment and only sent me an email. My Lash master artist was Peyton and she was awesome. The vibe was very chill. The temperature was perfect even though it's very cold out and she was able to explain to me the different membership tiers because the other location that canceled my appointment did a horrible job of it. Her answers were clear in. I appreciated the time she took to go over it with me. We'll definitely be coming back to this location even though it's 20 miles farther from my house. read more

Both of the artists I went to were extremely unfriendly. Both Melissa and Joanna were unfriendly. Joanna had gotten some of the serum in my eyes and it stung so badly, and she acted like it was my fault when I had my eyes closed the whole time during the lash lift. She also makes you follow her on Instagram, it was just sort of an odd experience, there are better places to go that have a much better vibe. So then I tried going to Melissa instead, who could care less if you give her your business, just all around bad vibes, which is a shame because the location is so close to me and the owner is very nice. I would not recommend though. The lash lift results were fine. They lasted only about two weeks. Peyton is the only nice aesthetician there honestly. read more

I'm never using #dekalash ever again. I selected a service membership based on a summer promotion. The membership I chose was based on the suggestion of the eyelash rep: Two fill ins per month should suffice. However the lashes were falling out at an unacceptable rate - and I utilized their 5 day policy for satisfaction to receive weekly fill ins because of this fact. This was enough to let me know I would not continue the service after the promotion bc this was unsatisfactory. I indicated on multiple occasions that I would not be continuing services - the cancellation policy on their website indicated to go in store to indicate that I was not continuing on. Which I did. My membership ended Oct. I asked if there was anything I need to do to cancel she was like no you're good it won't continue on. ( silly me believed it without receiving confirmation). Fast forward to now , Dekalash has been charging me for membership services that I clearly indicated that I did not want. The CSR agent stated that their policy required people to call in - to which I indicated that their- online FAQs and conditions was not clear on how on procedures for cancellation and most certainly did not indicate I needed to call in. In fact indicated that I needed to visit my local studio to discuss pricing at least 30 days in advance. Which I did, and sent a screenshot. Ok well we don't offer refunds but I will see what the studio manager says. The only thing we can do is extend the amount of time you can use the services. A) I don't need a refund, I need reimbursed for services I should never have been charged for in the first place. Refund means I was unsatisfied with the service I received- I did not receive the service bc I cancelled my membership. B ) If I cancelled the services then what makes you think I want to use them now- in any time frame? I didn't like the services hence the reason I cancelled them. Now they will not reimburse my money, nor will the studio manager call me to discuss it. This is unacceptable #dekalash Besides your customer service is subpar. I watched employees greet potential customers rudely or not at all. I've watched potential customers walk through the door and ask questions about services - only to be told you can read about on our website. When you're ready to book service can do it online. I have done my own eyelashes before and it's always a pain and I wanted to get them professionally done prior to a photo/video shoot I have to do for work. I made an appointment for a classic set and said I want it to look as natural as possible. I wasn't looking for extra volume or super long just more noticeable then my blonde lashes with some more length. She mentioned having true express lashes done instead of the classic since they are more natural looking, lighter, faster and perfect for a first timer. After they were done and she showed me I said "oh they are not what I thought" and she said "you'll get use to them". I said "I guess there is nothing I can do now" and she didn't reply. I got in the car and looked closer and noticed they were the type of lashes that have three lashes per bundle so it's not one lash per lash which I guess is what makes it faster but I HATE them. They look like chicken feet. I have done these kind myself at home and disliked them. I do not feel the 3 to 1 lash look natural at all. I have bought kits like that at Ulta and was not a fan. This is not at all what I wanted. I now have to rush to get them removed before my picture day and they can't remove and put a new set on same day. Plus they are not offering a refund or to cover the cost of my removal so when this is all said and done I will out 200 dollars and time but still no lashes. I should have just bought a glue on set from the store. read more

Just moved to the area and trying to find lash studio. Second appt was cancelled three times and appt made out 2 1/2 weeks in the future was cancelled for an emergency. Really???? Not only was it inconvenient but technician informed me that I have so many issues with my own lashes? So much so she didn't know where to begin. Why? Oh that's right she wanted me to buy their serum. I've worn lashes for years and really encourage you to look elsewhere. Not professional and inconvenient. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I used a Groupon for a service and was told that they would not accept the Groupon as payment due to an internal policy discussed at a company meeting. They could not point me to the fine print and made no effort to find a solution with the exception to pay full price for the service. Manager was not available and owner was absent. I've been to Deka Lash five or six times in the past several months. I've had two lash lifts and lash extensions and refills. Everyone has been so welcoming and nice. The salon is beautiful. I wasn't going to give it to them and told them that I would not make an appointment with them if they insisted. They insisted I never went back told her I would not be using their services. I would not recommend. I had a brow lamination which was not done properly. Customer service is awful-you can't even talk to a person, text only. Went to a true professional at a different spa and she told me my brows were burned and that was why they were now falling out. I've since heard many of the technicians are poorly trained. I was having my lash extensions done here. I was very happy with my technicians. The studio is clean. I had a bad reaction to the materials after a period of time but they were never not irritating.. I had to remove them at home myself on a Saturday night as my right eye was swollen like a balloon. My left eye was slightly swollen. The irritation was unbearable. I couldn't get through to them until they opened on Tuesday. I spoke with the corporate office. They emailed the owner explaining my situation as she is the only one able to return my monthly fee as they charge you a month in advance. They also request a 30 day notice to cancel your membership. After numerous calls over a period of weeks I was not able to get any cooperation from the owner of the Western Springs location. I am 57 years old and this was not a financial issue for me but rather a moral one. I understand their policies, however, I can not use a product that is making me ill and they force you to pay 2 months for a service that you physically can not use. I will be visiting this store in person and I will fight for my refund because I will not allow a greedy, inconsiderate business owner to rip me off. I would not consider going to this location as well as any of them after I was warned they were like this and that they use inferior products. Be very careful because your eyes are precious and these store owners are crooks at least the Western Springs owner is but I'm sure all locations are likely the same. They don't care what issues you have and won't believe you if you advise them of any serious problems. Make sure you take pictures. I didn't realize that would be necessary.
