I've been meaning to up my rating for Del Seoul to 5 stars, as I feel that if I lived closer to here I'd probably come to eat once a week. I like practically everything on the menu. The last two times I ordered the bulgogi bento box and loved this meal. It's a pretty large portion size for lunch but both times I devoured the entire "box" (actually when you dine in, the bento box is served in a long tray with three slots for the food). The yummy bulgogi slices with grilled onions come out steaming, and the meat goes great with the white rice and the salad doused with ginger-citrus vinaigrette. Go to Del Seoul and pick something. Delicious food! We had the bibimbop in the hot stone bowl, kimchi fries and both of their bahn mi sandwiches. Everything was flavorful and came out so quickly. Loved the spice level on the bahn mi and the bowl was just delicious. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Chicago. read more

I was visiting the Lincoln Park area one day and happened to walk by Del Seoul. I've heard good things about it from friends in the past and was slightly hungry so I figured I'd drop by for a snack. It was a Saturday afternoon and this place was super busy, but nonetheless the line to order moved quickly and I found a table to sit at. I ordered three tacos: sesame-chili shrimp, kalbi, and bbq pork. All three had a similar flavor profile with some slaw and spicy sauce, but the meats did taste different. My favorite was the shrimp taco since the shrimp had a lovely crispy texture. The kalbi was a close second since the meat was well-seasoned and tender. As a side, I got an order of their seasoned gamja fries. The fries were average, but the garlic-sesame aioli that it came with made them soooo good! Overall I thought the prices are fantastic given each taco's size and how delicious they are. The shrimp taco and kimchi fries are so necessary. Stopped in for dinner on a weeknight based on the recommendation of a friend, and wasn't disappointed! Food service is fast casual, so you order at the counter for to go or get a number if you'd like to be seated, and they try as best they can to spread people out. We tried a smattering - Chicken, beef, and shrimp tacos, kimchi fries, and the bibimbap in the hot stone bowl. The kimchi fries totally stole the show - Generously topped so we enjoyed them with a fork, and the spicy kimchi offset the sour cream-esque dressing so well. Amazing flavors!! The bibimbap was also very tasty! The beef was perfect, and the hot bowl to make the rice really crispy was new to me but very flavorful! I would just note that it's a bit more work to eat since you need to be scraping the stuck rice relatively often, so maybe not the best if you're deep in conversation. I loved all the veggies, too, but thought the egg was a bit overcooked so the yolk didn't mix in well. The tacos were okay, with the exception of the shrimp which was an absolute stand out!! Clark street in Lincoln Park has varied and eclectic restaurant choices. There are fast casual places, as well as sit down that range from Greek, Italian, Korean, Japanese, British pubs etc. Today we ate at Del Seoul, a Korean BBQ fast casual restaurant with inside and outside tables. They serve Korean Fusion street food that you order at the counter, and they bring your food to your table. They are still very Covid careful and must wait for the staff to assign seats. We had Bbq pork tacos, shrimp tempura tacos, short rib tacos, steamed dumplings, and Kim Chi. Our least favorite was the steamed dumplings but it was still delicious. We should have ordered the lollipop Chicken wings instead. We will order that next time. There are so many other choices that we haven't yet tried. We will definitely come back. It's not bad. I'd come again. TASTE Pretty good. I've had the hot stone bibimbap before and it was decent. This time I tried three tacos: kalbi, bbq pork and shrimp. Next time I would skip the kalbi as it is a little on the sweet side and not all that remarkable. My friend got the fish and said it was a good size portion. The slaw sort of homogenized the flavors a bit but it tasted decent enough so no complaints. Lots of neat non-alcoholic Asian beverages. And alcoholic ones too! CROWD It gets pretty packed in here. But they move pretty quick so as long as there aren't lingerers you may not have to wait too long. PRICE Compared to any other place you'll eat, it's about the same. 3 tacos and a non-alcoholic beverage cost me about $18. It's not terrible. AMBIANCE Meh...walk up ordering and self service accoutrement station. They do bring the food to your table but it is far from fine dining. Ok for a friends night out, more on the casual side than a nice date though. ACCESSIBILITY I think it's all well and good , can't remember if it's walkway level or one step up, I didn't have any issues with limited walking capacity. Parking in the area kinda sucked though. For the price, Del Seoul is hands down some of the best Banh Mi I have tried on the north side of Chicago: -The service here was quick and employees were nice -The restaurant has a nice modern look with plenty of seating options for large or small groups. I especially like the large glass windows that make the restaurant feel like somewhat of spectacle and allows for great watching of the street while you eat. -Lastly, the Bahn Mi I had here was just incredible. It had just the right amount of every ingredient. I didn't feel skimped on meat but I also had plenty of veg and that awesome sriracha mayo that elevates this to the nest level. I got a side of miso soups well that was great in its own right, but it was also an incredible place to dip my sandwich for an extra flavor and texture. Wow. Where have I been. I can't believe I haven't checked this place out until now. We arrived right right when they opened up. The line started getting pretty long after we placed our order and sat down. The guy that took our order was great. Very welcoming and assigned us a table once we were done ordering. About half of the people sat down and the other half were call in orders. This place was jumping! I ordered their sesame-chili shrimp tacos, bbq pork taco, and their Kalbi Taco. The shrimp taco was my least favorite. It was very tasty, but my wife makes something similar at home and just didn't feel unique to me. TAnd I probably wouldn't order it again because of that reason. I would still highly recommend it though. It came with sesame chili aioli, onion/cilantro relish and their secret slaw. The bbq pork taco was my 2nd favorite. It tasted similar to al pastor but not quite there. Would order it again. My favorite was their Kalbi. The beef was tender with a hint of sweetness. It's marinated in sweet soy, and served with their onion/cilantro relish and their secret slaw. The cool thing about this place is that they have a lot more to offer than just tacos. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this spot! We initially came to try the shrimp tacos which were really good. I thought the slaw on top would've been too much but it accompanied the taco really well. The tofu soup was sooo good and pretty spicy! The portion was huge and def worth the price. We definitely could've skipped on the poutine fries but that's ok since it was our first time. I will be back for more shrimp tacos and the tofu soup forsure and to try more items on the menu! Our day was starting and we didn't know what we wanted to eat for our first meal of the day. A simple google recommendation took out for a ride of our lives. Delseoul located in Park West on clark couple of blocks and walking distance from the Lincoln zoo. Long drive coming from the Midway area but definitely worth the drive for the experience you are gonna get. At first sight it we didn't know what we were getting, the menu is so colorful wide from tacos, wings a completely and total Korean fusion experience. We stopped on a Saturday evening, when we arrive it wasn't that busy it was just one couple in front of us but one we seated not even 5 minutes later it was packed line all the way out of the door. The food service was very fast and the food was beyond our expectations. They sat us right by the window and i call that the prime real estate sitting location. We had a big order to tackle and we started with Kimchi Fries: French fries with sauteed kimchi garnished with onions, pork belly, scallions, melted cheddar and sour cream in top. second order was Kalbi Poutine: fries topped with slow braised short rib, blended cheeses, seasoned cream, scallions and house-pickled red onions. it followed by the Seoul-Style Street Dumplings: Steamed handmade pork and beef dumplings and we finished with K-town Chicken Wings Jumbo "lollipopped" wings with a sweet soy, chili and garlic glaze. The Whole Experience was  marvelous it all came together and we were takes to a train to flavor town. This will definitely be one of my go to restaurants. And if you have the chance, or wanna take a drive to the Park West, definitely give them a shot! Price is good and the food is so worth it!! read more

This place was great just reading and watching how they have patrons assisting the staff in keeping the restaurant tidy. They have a list of rules on the table that mention things to follow. You basically bus your table for the most part. Getting into food, the Kalbi taco was something I wasn't expecting, the short rib meat with the slaw and and relish had an uncanny match, it was sweet and savory, but I wasn't gonna spend too much because each taco is 3.50. Missed dining here so much! I've been craving for the shrimp tacos and kimchi fries so finally had a chance to dine back at Del Seoul. I called prior to dining to make sure they were open. I was told it's first come first serve, and that indoor dining is open. There seem to be less tables than before with some space in between the tables. I felt safe dining there since it wasn't a full house on a Friday night. Ordered shrimp tacos it was exactly what I remembered. They were really good! Kimchi fries- absolute must, my favorite!!! Fish tacos- I think they're my new favorite! Definitely going to get them next time! Kalbi tacos- it was more like bulgogi tacos to me... Walking through Lincoln Park on the way to a show, we stopped at Del Seoul for some lunch and were wowed by how good it was! My favorite was the shrimp taco, a little sweet, a little spicy, and filling! I also recommend the fish taco - the pieces of fish in the taco were huge! I also recommend the K-town fried chicken. They looked drenched in soy sauce but they were surprisingly crisp and tender, and the sauce was dark and sweet and delicious! The K-town wing sauce was also perfect for dipping the poutine fries!!! We ordered the Kalbi and spicy pork bento meals. The spicy pork was my favorite. It was tender and had a pleasant amount of heat. The kalbi is a good choice if you can't do spicy food. Meals included Korean style rice and mixed greens salad with refreshing house dressing. We added sides of kimchi. Everything was fresh, delicious and the portions were generous. Came here twice during my last week in Chicago. I called the orders in, picked up 15 minutes later. It was an easy process. I really liked the Seoul Street dumplings and shrimp tacos my roommate and I got for our first order. Then for the second order, I ordered kimchi fries, a bbq taco and my roommate got the banh mi sandwich. The kimchi fries are split into two containers for takeout which was helpful for us since we were splitting but it wasn't until later that I realized that only half of them came with kimchi on them and I got the one without. The sauce for the fries was delicious though. The pork bbq taco was good but I prefer the shrimp. Overall, good casual dining and takeout spot. First, ordering online was super easy. I'm a pictorial person and having photos of the food was super helpful. The order was ready right when it said it would be! Second, COVID-19 precautions were followed. Our meal pickup was safe and followed necessary restrictions! Thanks keeping the safety of your employees and customers first, Del Seoul! Third, the food was FANTASTIC! Portions were generous and prices were very reasonable! We started with the kimchi fries and they were decadent and full of flavor. We devoured them! Ok I know the wings are supposed to be the star of the show... but the tacos here are the best I've had in the city! I LOVED them. My husband liked them but wasn't as thrilled as me. We came for the wings for him. He enjoyed them and the sauce but said they could have been crispier and we agreed, they could use a little more heat for our preference. Forgot how good this place is! Easy and convenient Korean style street food. Prices are incredibly fair and the variety is definitely there. Typically I get the bibimbap bowl in the hot stoneware. However, wanted to try the Bento box and tacos (was just as good). They are following guidelines - mask wearing when you are ordering, but if you are sitting you can remove. You can always expect Del Seoul to be busy but the lines move quickly. As busy as it was, we got our tacos relatively fast. The fries on the other hand took forever. We finished our tacos before the fries came out. I've tried every taco on the menu and let me save you some time. Shrimp tacos all the way. You get 2 large panko breaded shrimp that deliver a crispy bite loaded with sesame flavor and a mouthful of slaw. These tacos are addicting! The aioli on the fries might as well be crack. I wish they would fill it to the rim because I feel like it's not enough. Additional aioli is a hefty $.75. A bit overpriced. If you're looking for a fast casual meal that is loaded with flavor, come to Del Seoul. You won't be disappointed! read more

We were looking for a quick lunch on a Sunday afternoon. When we walked in there were a few guests in front of us, but by the time we placed our orders there were a long line. You order at the counter, assigned a table and they bring your order to you . My husband had two pork and two shrimp tacos. They were loaded with shrimp and pork and a generous amount of toppings. I had the OG chicken. The portion was very generous and was accompanied with white rice. The food is definitely 5 stars, customer service is also a 5, but the reason for the 4 is our food did not come out together. There was at least 5 - 8 minutes between my husband's food and mine. I've been to Del Seoul too many times to count and have never had a bad experience. Literally everything on the menu is straight fire. Like most people, I went first for the tacos - they are known for the shrimp tacos but I looove the fish. I stayed for the bento boxes and the bibimbop, which are my go-tos now. When you can eat indoors, both come with hot stone plates that keep everything sizzling as you eat, but they are just as good as takeout. Oh, and THE WINGS are even better than that popular chicken wing place up broadway (crisp) - soo saucy and crunchy. They were on Guy Fieri's Diners Drive Ins and Dives for a reason ;) Also worth a shout out are the seasoned gamja fries, as they are so unique and addicting. Hmm, have I mentioned everything on the menu yet? Because you literally cannot go wrong here. I've noticed that since COVID/lockdown they've started selling takeaway, heat at home stir fry boxes. I think that is so creative and you bet it's next on my list to try here!! Oh, and they have been offering to-go beer and hard cider for suuuper cheap (at least for a restaurant). Korean tacos! When I heard about Del Seoul I had to try it out, and I was not disappointed! Kalbi and shrimp tacos were absolutely delicious; both kinds are packed with flavor! The fish tacos were good too but, honestly, they tasted like typical battered fish tacos. It's a little like a fast food restaurant where you need to bring back the used plate back for them. A lots of customer ordered carry out and go sit eat the table. The O.G Chicken is only one flavor that is sweet but still good. The spicy tofu hotpot is not that flavorful compared to that of traditional Korea but still eatable. Also if you want to have the spicy tofu hotpot at the patio you can't they only allowed it to be eaten inside. The bento box is okay. Overall if you like cuisine from each culture you might like it here they have ban mi, taco, Korean food a little of everything altogether. read more
