We finished our tacos before the fries came out. I've tried every taco on the menu and let me save you some time. Shrimp tacos all the way. You get 2 large panko breaded shrimp that deliver a crispy bite loaded with sesame flavor and a mouthful of slaw. These tacos are addicting! The aioli on the fries might as well be crack. I wish they would fill it to the rim because I feel like it's not enough. Additional aioli is a hefty $.75. A bit overpriced. Korean tacos! When I heard about Del Seoul I had to try it out, and I was not disappointed! Kalbi and shrimp tacos were absolutely delicious; both kinds are packed with flavor! The fish tacos were good too but, honestly, they tasted like typical battered fish tacos. It's a little like a fast food restaurant where you need to bring back the used plate back for them. A lots of customer ordered carry out and go sit eat the table. The O.G Chicken is only one flavor that is sweet but still good. The spicy tofu hotpot is not that flavorful compared to that of traditional Korea but still eatable. Also if you want to have the spicy tofu hotpot at the patio you can't they only allowed it to be eaten inside. The bento box is okay. We ordered the Kalbi and spicy pork bento meals. The spicy pork was my favorite. It was tender and had a pleasant amount of heat. The kalbi is a good choice if you can't do spicy food. Meals included Korean style rice and mixed greens salad with refreshing house dressing. We added sides of kimchi. Everything was fresh, delicious and the portions were generous. Really cool taco place in a really chill neighborhood in Chicago. I got the fish and the shrimp taco. Prices are not bad, with the fish being $5.25 and the shrimp being $3.65. I will say the fish is worth the extra buck sixty, because they give you a pretty big piece of fried fish in your taco. Both tacos were really tasty though, with the meats topped with some sort of slaw and Asian dressing. I really enjoyed the fusion between Mexican and Korean. My hot take is that their non-meat tacos are hands down the best and I'm not even a vegetarian/pescatarian. The shrimp tacos are to die for, 100/10!! The battered fish taco is also up there. I guess I shouldn't be surprised how crowded and packed certain restaurants are since this is on Clark Street and this is a Friday night. Located in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago, it's a trendy; student and hippie kind of vibe going on in here. Close seating and singular bathrooms after you weave your way into the spot. I do recommend parking and walking as there is limited street parking in the business/residential area that it's located in. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad but it didn't wow me. The K-town wings were aromatic, flavorful and come 8 to an order for about $10.50. It was enough to share and although they appeared to have been fried hard, they weren't but just to a point so that the yummy sauce doesn't make them a mushy mess. I ordered two Kalbi tacos and they were better than I remember! Savory and salty that balances nicely with the coleslaw to neutralize the saltiness. I wouldn't say it's killer, but it is really damned good, and I was happy that I popped in rather than getting the burrito I had set out for (sorry, Angela's Burrito Style. Next time). The veggie bibimbop was very good although I had hoped it would be spicier (I like to sweat and maybe even hiccup; this brought out a few exhalations (but would probably satisfy anyone who doesn't see hot sauce as the main attraction and the entree as a delivery vector)). Everything here was delicious I wish I found this place sooner. We came on a Saturday night with a few friends and got the following Shrimp and Kalbi ( short rib) tacos. These were great the meat for both were seasoned really well and topped with the cabbage. I thought the amount of cabbage on the tacos would take the flavoring away from the meat but it did not. From the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant to the kind staff and incredible food, this restaurant nails it all. This place has a decent amount of seating and is on a busy street in the adorable Lincoln Park. You order at the counter, and someone brings food to your table! Most people are obsessed with the Shrimp taco, but it was a bit soggy when I got to it. I'd recommend eating that taco first for sure id you order it before it gets soggy! The shrimp is flavored like walnut shrimp and has the same texture as that dish as well with a crunchy deep fried outer shell dunked into the sweet mayo sauce. This place is incredible!! A friend introduced me several years ago and going back has been on top of my Chicago foodie bucket list. So glad I went! Where to begin - to start, kimchi fries are a must!! I sought them out in other cities but never had any luck. Something about the kimchi, pork, cheese, sauce combo is irresistible. The spicy shrimp bahn mi sandwich hit the spot, though I wouldn't say its very spicy. The spicy beef stew however did have more of a kick (had a bite from my sister). Ordered at the counter and was given a number where we were served pretty quickly. The food was great!! Really loved the bibimbop in the stone bowl - the rice at the bottom got nice and crispy so after mixing it up, there were wonderfully crispy bites throughout. The food here reminded me of the food when I was back in Seoul, South Korea. I had a ratatouille moment when I first tasted their Yukaejiggae. It was incredibly food. My spouse had the tofu stew and they even had the "holy crap" face because it was that good. Glad this was the first thing we ate at Chicago. I've only been once so I'm just basing this on the 3 dishes we ordered. Maybe the other items on the menu are better. I'm a pretty big fan of this cuisine and have eaten it across the country and area so this is my context. If this is the same for you, you've been warned. My wife and I both ordered bento boxes. Mine pork and hers chicken. The chicken was good, skip the pork. The pork was tough, dry, grisly. The flavor was ok when you combined it with the onions and sauce at the bottom of the griddle. I liked the side salad but my wife didn't like the citrus dressing. It comes with a pile of rice with a sauce that was ok. We both ordered kimchee sides. We both thought it was really good kimchee but don't serve it to me in a plastic to go cup and lid. Put it in my box. Put it on the side of the rice or something. Same goes for the plastic water cup. Paper or reusable plastic only. We ordered the Seoul-style street dumplings. I don't know why "style" is in the title but these are tasteless and a hard pass. They need ginger or something. Some sort of flavor component. Really disappointing. I know a lot of people love the chicken wings. Of course you like the fried food with sugar. Who doesn't but I think what we ordered shows a lot more about their ability than fried chicken wings. There's other restaurants of this type so not sure if we'd stop again unless we're just in the neighborhood. read more
