Was looking for a place to try birria tacos for the first time and Del Sur did not disappoint!! Definitely the best tacos I've had in Texas thus far. And their chips are delicious! The tacos were so flavorful and juicy! They also serve a great Horchata which also so refreshing!! Ducked off, not the best parking but that's not surprising because it's Dallas. However, the Birria is amazing. Do not, under any circumstances order the chips & salsa. The homemade tortillas are fried and they are hard as 40 quarters, then the salsa it's not nearly as good as the complimentary salsa most Tex-mex restaurants sit out on the table before you even get a menu lol. I wouldn't order the queso fundido again either. The margaritas, frozen and on the rocks were super weak. We let our server know & she even tasted it herself to confirm. We sent those back. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here! Food was good, but the corn tortillas for my asada tacos did not seem warmed up enough. Not a deal breaker and we had a table for a big party so it may have impacted the food sitting. Also, not all the food came out at one time and there was some confusion of who had already ordered. The location for parking may be troublesome if busy. I ordered asada tacos with rice and beans and a mango margarita. It was all very tasty. Ordered from grub hub and the food arrived warm. The Totopos were really tasty and perfectly crunchy. That's about it. I also got the birria tacos. The description said 4 tacos and I only received 3, but to be honest I don't think I would have wanted the fourth. They were really not good. Dry meat and soggy tortillas. I also got the cuatro leches cake which wasn't great either. I was especially frustrated because it was SO expensive. I don't mind paying more for good food but it feels a bit insulting to pay so much for not great food. I placed an order for the Birria Tacos which says on both yelp & Grubhub I should receive a total of 4 tacos. I go to pick up the order and when I get home I see I only received 3. I called to see if I could just receive the extra taco and or the difference of the taco. I was told by Raphael at the time that the manager was not in and to come back in the morning. He also mentioned that they changed the menu to where I'm suppose to only receive 3 tacos, I expressed that's not my fault. I asked if I could get their name or get the manager's name and he transferred me to the kitchen manager ismahel who was very rude and just blatantly told me he was not going to give me a refund because they change the menu 7 months ago and hung up on me. OooWeeee!! These tacos just changed my life for the better. I have social media to thank for introducing me to Del Sur Tacos as well as Birria tacos - which seem to be popping up everywhere. One photo of a birria taco plate is enough to get your mouth watering, so it was no surprise Del Sur's instagram caught my attention after some local food bloggers shared their experience. I was craving it all week and, while I would've rather experienced for the first time at the restaurant, I caved to my cravings and ordered UberEats for lunch. Well, bonus points because the tacos were DELICIOUS even after delivery - the dipping sauce was still super warm too. I can only imagine how good they are in real life! Imagine the best quesadilla of your life married the best taco of your life and then a salty delicious au jus dipping sauce joined the family. This was our second time coming to Del Sur. We sat outside today on the patio. You'll want to order at the counter, they'll give you a number and you seat yourself. They have limited alcoholic beverages at the counter. They have other cocktail options at the bar, which you must order separately. You can however order food and beverages from the bar. We always get the guacamole and Birria tacos and they are delicious! We will obviously return in hopes of trying other menu items but we just love the Birria too much! The only 2 black tables aren't allowed to get liquor but everyone else is being served liquor. Words simply cannot describe the food that I ate here. It was probably one of the most perfect meals I've had. The atmosphere was alive with happy, energetic people. The gal that took my order gave me plenty of excellent suggestions and I took them all. She took good care of my friend and I and that kind of service is rare nowadays. I ordered La Cubana Torta, Del Norte and El Santo tacos, and the Cali burrito. Everything has so much flavor and the presentation was excellent. They have definitely nailed down their flavor combos and made them perfect. I can't stress this enough: I don't think I could EVER top this wonderful meal. Del Sur is easily the new best Mexican restaurant in town. I enjoy them especially because every single thing that leaves the kitchen is perfectly well seasoned. From the spicy notes of serrano in the black bean dip or how well marinated their barbacoa is, you can't go wrong with a single dish. The crowd favorite is probably their Tacos De Birria but you would be very hard pressed to find a better taco, torta, or especially a burrito in all of Dallas (or Los Angeles). Also ordered a shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were old and mushy and could have caused a major food poisoning. I came in today simply just to place a to-go order and the service I received from Tony was AMAZING! He was so friendly and welcoming to me and my mom. He instantly asked us if we wanted to sample a new juice they had and he gave us a generous amount while I ordered my food. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla and since my mom didn't have her glasses she continued to ask him about different things on the menu and he read the ingredients off to her. Such a sweet guy!
