Location Between Cockrell Hill and Duncanville. Parking Large open lot Atmosphere This restaurant is a Dallas area landmark. An authentic museum tribute to masked wrestlers-life size model costumes, signed masks, dolls, figures, absolutely a must visit for wrestling fans. Casual Seating Low tables and chairs Service Counter service Menu Tacos, pico, guacamole and chips, soup. This was the best guacamole ever! Fresh, diced tomatoes-we would've been happy with 2 servings! The chips were light, not heavily salted-great flavor! The taco platter was outstanding!! 6 different tacos-barbacoa, avocado, served on corn street tortillas. Loved each bite!! Margaritas, beer, soft drinks. The soup looked good but is very spicy. Summary What an incredible find!! Love the memorabilia of masked wrestling champions, great menu-outstanding food! All wrestling fans in Dallas area and visiting should come here!

Where do I begin with Maskaras Mexican grill? The themed decor of traditional Mexican luchadores is so much fun, there is so much memorabilia and so much art all over the walls, figurines in different places and such a super cool vibe overall. The restaurant itself is pretty large and the Saturday afternoon we visited, there were a few groups of guys that look like they played for a baseball team and had gathered after a game so definitely a fun place to hang out with friends for sure. This is a place where you certainly go for the draw of the nostalgia of the decor but the food is nothing to take lightly at all. I got the San Juan style tacos which are four rolled flautas filled with deliciously seasoned shredded chicken and creamy mashed potatoes and let me just say that the contrast of the crunchy exterior with that creamy savory deliciousness was certainly mind-blowing. They come fully dressed, topped with guac or avocado, your choice, shredded cabbage for extra crunch and Mexican crema for some additional creaminess. My husband opted for the street tacos and they look delicious but I didn't try any of his because I was too busy devouring my food!! I tried all three of their salsas, none were too hot or overpowering at all but they all had really great flavor and just added even more to whatever dish you get. I can't wait to go back again and just eat my way through the menu, there are so many options and all of them sound absolutely delicious. This place definitely deserves all five stars and I highly recommend that you check them out if you haven't already!!

The resturant is extremely clean, the food was delicious and was ready in no time. The woman at the front counter was extremely helpful, not pushy, and made me feel welcome. The woman who cleared the table of dirty dishes was also extremely nice and I was very much satisfied eating their traditional Mexican dishes. I will certainly be coming back.

GREATT local spot, the ladies were so sweet and food came out in prbly under 5 mins. sopes were BOMB, birria was BOMB, everything was juicy and fresh. cute decor (we love a theme) and lots of seating. not the most affordable food out there (total came out to $40 with a drink) but 10x worth your money than taco bell !!

I deliver for Pepsi and this was my first time delivering here. The owners wife was super nice. Made my job easier for me. Now the food. I was asked if I wanted something to eat. So I said, "sure I'll take two tacos." She goes on to tell me the culture of the food and how good it was. I must say it was good. I would definitely be back to try something else. Clean kitchen and friendly employees. Masks were everywhere and that's what makes this place different. Oh yeah that red sauce is the flavor I've been looking for so good.

None of this was any good and plus these are store bought corn tortillas.

I'm going to be honest nothing that we bought here was really any good. First of all they use store bought tortillas, they don't make their own tortillas. The carne asada tacos just lacked flavor and they were not memorable at all. The carnitas adobo were the same, just lacked. The rice and beans were lame as heck, again lacking flavor. The birria taco wasn't anything special either. The guy that took my order was nice and friendly. The restaurant was clean, but honestly the food is really mediocre. From a boy from the hood in the Oak Cliff area I would say nah!!

I discovered this wonderful resturant, in 2020 . I enjoyed birria tacos with consommé. beef flour tacos and the chicken tacos . crunchy and made fresh. The French fries and very tasty too. I highly recommend this place as a very friendly family establishment. I will come back .

This place is 10/10. Friendly staff, AMAZING FOOD! I would highly recommend. You can't to wrong and all the options are authentic, delicious Mexican food.

I decided to stop and try this place since its been advertised a lot. Birria tacos were very salty, the carnitas i didnt even try them. The queso had a lot of coriander. The front lady was very nice , the restaurant was clean but food was simply not good.

I'm typing this review as I eat my food... 10/10!!!! The owner was kind and made great recommendations to my dad and I. I felt like I was back in Guadalajara We had the quesabirria tacos, camarón zarandeado tacos, sope de tinga and the taco eclipse (the empty plate) LOL everything was perfectly seasoned, and their 3 sauces was incredible. i'll be back to try more on the menu.

Best tacos in all of Dallas...bar none. A family favorite that is in Oak Cliff. Discovered it a couple of year ago and now it's my spot.

No…read morereservation...just a walk party of 6 and they had a table for us...as long as we could be out by a certain time...about an hour and a half after we walked in. We were there to eat so if they were going to wine and dine us in that amount of time, we were there for it!! Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and we are so glad we found this location and made it happen! I was looking forward to dinner here the entire day and it was worth it!! We had the queso blanco...it's got a kick...worth it! My wagyu fajitas were perfectly cooked medium rare and soooo flavorful!! I was my dessert in my pjs back at the hotel...the sopapilla cheesecake and ice cream held up perfectly and was everything I wanted it to be!! It's a dark atmosphere in the bar area, but the vibes were so cool. It wasn't too loud to where people were having to scream to converse...but it was not intimate where you could talk across the table softly with the other person hearing. A few important notes though: this place is SUPER loud, especially upstairs, so if you are trying to take your older parents somewhere for a nice dinner where you can actually catch up and have a conversation, this might not be the spot. Also, avoid the upstairs dining room if anyone has mobility issues. The stairs are a little sketchy in that dark space because you basically have to TRUST there is another stair step in front of you even though you can't see it. And a heads up, do not wander into the wrong bathroom upstairs like my husband did because the "men's" and "ladies" signs upstairs are also nearly impossible to read in the dark! But honestly, those are really my only complaints... The service and food were both very good. We had a couple of ordering fumbles. We got the regular queso, and then immediately watched another table get the tableside flaming queso and we were seriously bummed. Like, really bummed. That is definitely what I will be ordering next time. The chips and smoky salsa were excellent!! - and I always appreciate when everyone gets their own little portion of salsa so everyone can double dip without feeling like a heathen. I ordered the wagyu fajitas (the half portion), and it was still easily enough food for two people. I will say the meat was more like a filet mignon texture and less like the flavorful fajita meat I was expecting. My friend's pork fajitas were actually much better and had more flavor. When the manager stopped by to check on us, I had to announce my own birthday because apparently my friends were not going to help me out with that (some friends, huh?). They brought out a complimentary sopapilla cheesecake with a candle, which was a very nice touch. All in all, I loved the place and totally understand the hype. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. There is valet parking, but we found easy parking across the street. I cannot wait to come back and try that flaming queso!

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. It was glorious and bountiful--there was ample dressing, cheese, and other ingredients I'm forgetting that made it unique. Unfortunately, during our second visit, the Caesar salad was significantly different. I think they used the same dressing, but there was very little of it. There was nearly no cheese and the other ingredients were similarly sparse. It was still good, but it in no way was the greatest I'd ever tried. I hope that this was a 1-off experience, as it truly was the best. I will report back next time. Service was great both times- they were very careful about my Cilantro request (none) and even though they gladly prepared dishes without it, they also made a list of things that already had none by default. Salmon ceviche, Pork al pastor, Carne asada, and the machete were also very good. The machete is a specialty- it had the house made masa and fillings can vary.
