The line was very long when i first arrived, so I was definitely expecting a long wait but it wasn't too bad (maybe 20min). After I ordered my tacos I got in line for the elotes and really enjoyed watching the man make each order fresh. The tacos and elotes were both good, but neither really blew my mind (7/10 for both). There isn't really a formal seating area but i saw lots of people either eating in line, in their cars, or in the field behind the restaurant. This place has been running for 30 years and I can see why. I went there during my short trip to Dallas while strolling in the area. First was at night and again in the morning. No matter the time of the day there is always a line and everything made fresh to the order. There is a little bit of wait time but tacos came out piping hot. I had chicken tacos and they were bomb. The only thing missing is a hint of lime but it tasted amazing for such a small price of just $2.75 per taco. At night I had Mexican street corn. A huge cup of steaming corn with cheese, red sauce, sour screen and butter was just $5. If you are going during the day, just wait in the car bcos there is hardly any shade and in Dallas heat, you become a taco yourself. There is nothing to write about the ambiance. This is a weird review to make. So it's a little sketch. Which usually doesn't bother me. But there was a couple of guys who were asking for money. I ended up giving them my Coke because this place only takes cash and I didn't have much cash. So that was the bad part. Little sketch. Limited menu of tacos (Al pastor, barbacoa, lengue, etc) and drinks (agua Frescas and Jarritos). Topping choices are onion, cilantro and a salsa. The long lines on a Saturday night and the sparse crowds at the surrounding food trucks should be an indication of what you're in for with this little gem. It's just straight up authentic tacos, corn or tortilla. What makes them special is their made fresh - the meat and fillings. The Elote is also made fresh, scraped from boiled corn on the cob. My wife had a conversation with the gentleman serving the fresh elote (served in a cup with mole, cheese, lots of butter) and he has been doing it for 40 years. Be warned it can be a long wait after you order but well worth it and decently priced compared to the more expensive eateries in the area. Bring cash they do not take anything else. CASH ONLY! Good tacos located in a little stand with a long line at night. I tried the barbacoa, lengua, and fajita tacos. They don't include much else in the way of the toppings, so the meat really has to carry the flavor. The barbacoa and lengua were both juicy and tasted good, but the tacos just lacked a bit of complexity in flavor because it was mostly just meat (their spicy sauce is extremely hot and I would not recommend putting too much). The fajita meat was a little tough. The star of the show was the elote - an abuelo prepares them on a separate table from where you order the tacos, slices the corn kernels from the cob, and adds delicious cheesy cream and spicy tamarind(?) sauce that you then mix together. Finally, I had a large horchata (must have been 30oz or so) for $2.50. It was a little too sweet and not enough cinnamon/spice flavors, but for the price it's a great deal and good accompaniment to spicy salsa and elote. read more

There was a smaller line around the taco line than there was for the Elotes. After trying both I completely understand. Tacos were very good and shouldn't be downplayed at all. I opted for corn tortillas with beef, and chicken plus onions and cilantro. Good sized tacos and Authentic taste, made to order and meat wasn't dry or stale tasting. Elotes were made to order as well and the corn was very fresh. Great combination of flavors and pricing wasn't bad either. One cup of Elotes was 4 bucks and 4 tacos came out to be 11 dollars even. Me encanta! I love this little taco building. Complete with Elote stand getting freshly boiled corn on the cob (he cuts it off the cob when you order. Awesome) There was a line Sunday night 8pm. It went by fast. We had someone make the taco line and someone make the Elote line separately. We took our order to a nearby bar that didn't sell food. I wanted to love this place! But unfortunately it missed the mark. I always see very long lines, that's a good sign right? We ordered our food/paid, waited 25-30 min for food to be ready, mouths salivating the entire time as it smelled delicious. They finally called my name as food was ready and packed up in to go boxes. Upon receiving my order, I am informed that eight of the tacos that we originally ordered, they ran out of that meat while making our tacos. So they took the liberty of changing our order from 8 Al Pastor to 8 Fajita, (we ordered 19 total tacos) without calling my name to ask or inform us that they had ran out, they just did it. Was I annoyed? Sure but I said "no problem, that's fine" and kept a smile on my face. We get home and start eating. The bistek and fajita tacos were S. A. L. T. Y! When I say salty, I mean extremely salty. So much they were inedible. The barbacoa tacos were good, hence why I'm giving 2 stars and not 1. Here's a photo of all the tacos that were left over.
