Taco Salad With Fresh Guac - Grilled Chicken ($6.99): No Sour Cream
    Elena N.

Date: Saturday, August 31st, 2024 Party of: 2 Meal: Late Dinner How Ordered: via Del Taco App Time Ordered: around 11pm Time Ready: about 20 mins later *Carne Asada Street Taco: Carne Asada Steak ($2.99) *Beer Battered Crispy Fish Taco made with Stone Buenaveza Salt & Lime Lager ($3.29) *The Del Taco: Crunchy ($2.29) x2 *NEW TREJO'S TACOS ROASTED PORK AL PASTOR EPIC BURRITO ($7.99) *Epic Cali Bacon Burrito: Carne Asada Steak - No Sour Cream ($9.29) *Del Cheeseburger ($3.29): Add Bacon ($1) *Chili Cheddar Fries ($5.49): Add Jalapenos ($0.70) *Taco Salad With Fresh Guac - Grilled Chicken ($6.99): No Sour Cream I wanted to try something new for my weekly late night dinner with the hubby. Since there aren't many options close to Tahoe, we decided to try Del Taco. (Their drive thru is open 24 hours on the weekends.) I placed the order via app less than 10 mins before we arrived. Food in general was okay. Most things were just salty. They did give us a lot of hot sauces which was nice since I always eat my tacos, burritos, etc, with a lot of sauces. We are in the habit of checking our orders after we go past the drive thru, but before we leave the parking lot. We discovered we were missing an item. The carne asada taco. So I went into the actual restaurant to let them know. (The dining area is open until 12 midnight.) They quickly made the taco and we were on our way. Unfortunately, after we arrived in Tahoe, we realized they forgot to add bacon to our burger. I am a penny pincher, so that was a waste of a dollar. Plus tax! Nice to have an option in Folsom for late night eats. Tho check your order before you leave. Note: Since I had the app, the two del tacos were free. REVIEW #3547

    Value taco

Living the drive thru COVID life. This location serves up food pretty quickly and served hot. The drive thru staff are friendly. BUT play it safe and check your order before driving away because more than likely they handed you the wrong order. This has happened to me a couple of times within the past few months. However the food and pricing are good. Two words... value taco. These suckers are 79 cents. Surprisingly they are pretty good. Basic simple ground beef taco served in a hard shell with shredded cheese and lettuce. The value taco is my go to fave. The value tacos are smaller and cheaper than their regular taco. The bean burritos are 99 cents. Also basic and simple. The fries aren't bad either. They are thick crinkle cut. They serve a good burger too. BUT they have one drive thru window and currently no dine in. So when they hand you the wrong bag of food. (By the way, it's not the cashiers fault. She/he has to rely on the person in the kitchen handing her/him the bag.). .If you happen to not check your order and drive on off and realize later it is wrong. Bruce Almighty, it is an ordeal to get that fixed. They do not answer the door. The location phone number that is printed on the receipt is for a fax machine. Your only recourse is to get back into the drive thru line and repeat. But I always decline the food and request a refund. I Tip: Before driving off out of the drive thru, check your order. The drivers behind you can wait a few more seconds longer.

Medium fries only half full! What a joke.

I didn't feel like cooking and nothing sounded good but I decided to go through the Del Taco drive-true last night. Not only were the fries cold and tasted like they had been sitting for hours, they were only half full (see photo) and that was after I put in the ones that had fallen into the bag. Seriously!? You know damn well that the Del Taco worker knew he/she didn't fill the fry container. I also ordered a quesadilla which was cold. The cheese wasn't even melted on the inside. I know this is fast food but there's just no excuse for this type service. I paid money to get a half decent meal but ended up getting cold shitty food that wasn't even fully fulfilled. I'm so tired of lazy employees who don't give a crap about service, quality, or their jobs for that matter. I want my money back.

Chicken avocado burrito, 3 layer nachos
    Holly S.

Our first time to this chain ever- Chick Fil A is next door and very busy so we tried something new. We have to say that the food is better than Taco Bell, but it is comparable. I got the special burrito, chicken and avocado. The size was massive, but it fell apart and was very sloppy. I felt the burrito was dry with just chicken, avocado, black beans, fresh tomatoes with rice and some cheese. It was equivalent to something you can make at home in a hurry with minimum effort. There were stars deducted as the lady taking orders and calling out names to retrieve the food was rude and even argued with a customer when he asked a simple question. It was tacky on our first visit and made us consider leaving without ordering.... I'd return to try it once more

We were meeting a friend and they had gotten a table for us before we arrived, but it wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables available. We're glad we had a chance to try Cantina Pedregal before it changes into Nixtaco- although now having been to both you're going to have delicious food either way. The restaurant is beautiful and whoever did the interior design was so thoughtful with the furniture, colors and ambiance. It's very warm, welcoming and calming inside. A great date spot or place for a meeting. The lunch menu has a good variety of options, and is broken down into smaller bites/appetizers, salads, main plates, and then sides. It's a nice spot to share dishes so you can try more items and share the sides. We ended up getting the chips and salsa ($7) with an extra salsa ($4), Grilled Black Half Chicken ($23), and Fideo Seco ($14). Our friend got the Carne Asada Tacos ($24), Refried Beans ($12), and Red Rice ($10). The sides were shareable and needed, since the entrees came on their own. Our friend added some of the beans, rice and Fideo Seco on their tacos and our chicken did come with some tortillas to make our own tacos or eat on it's own. Everything was high quality and flavorful. The Fideo Seco was surprisingly my favorite item. It is vermicelli pasta with sofrito, chorizo and egg yolk and was very tasty. The chicken was good, but hard to eat without using your hands to get all the meat off the bones- the messy hands didn't seem to fit with the restaurant vibe but we loved the flavor and how tender the chicken was. The salsa was good and the chips were fresh, but it seemed like a lot to charge $4 for the ramekins of salsas. I would pass on chips and salsa next time. Overall it was a great vibe, high quality food and good service. Definitely more of a treat meal or great spot to impress a date or business client. For a regular chill meal it felt a bit expensive, but I think they're going for more upscale.

We ordered drinks my favorite one was called Sol Dorado . I wish they had more Gin drinks I had the only Gin drink called Brissa Del Mar but ,I was not a fan . For food we ordered the Caesar salad , sweet potato which was amazing. For our main dish we ordered the cazuela (Asado De Puerco ) which is pork stew it came with handmade corn tortillas . We made some delicious tacos out of it . I had to get dessert they all sounded so good! We got the Smoked Pumpkin Tres Leches delicious. Overall, it was a different experience the food is a bit different and I'm Mexican BTW but it's from a part in Mexico called Monterey every part in Mexico has their own way of cooking . The menu its self is different you order to share . It's a little on the pricier side but the portions were a good size for sharing . I feel like for the main entree there is not that many options on there wish to see more . Overall we had a great time . Great food and ambiance.

I ordered a small lengua taco and carne asada nachos. The taco was just okay. The meat was cooked perfectly but there was no real flavor. Sadly, the chips for the nachos seemed stale so I attempted to supplement with the chips from the salsa bar only to have them also be stale. The nachos had an odd fishy flavor to them, perhaps coming from the refried beans. There's no real flavor. The meat was lacking and the cheese that was used was not flavorful. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. I'll be back to try again with a companion to compare reviews in the future!
