Stopped by del taco for a quick dinner between appointments. Ordered a grilled chicken burrito combination. Good flavor, steaming hit fries, and a cold a soda really hit the spot. Consider 3 stars a 5 stars for fast food, to my surprise the churros were hot and toasty. They definitely aren't as fresh as good old costcos used to be, but they're not bad! Got the crispy chicken taco. One was crispy, the other was floppy and smothered in ranch and cheese lol. I mean not bad consisting you can't get two tacos for $5 anywhere these days. This place is popular among Seniors who lived in the area. I just observed how happy the hispanic woman who was happy as the two retirees were singing Happy Birthday as she prepares food last Thursday, August 7th. The sales guy, Fred was very accommodating as he recommended different kind of taco veggies for my diet restriction being a kidney patient. He added more lettuce, reduced meat and prepared without salt. In essence it was special for this customer. Where can you find that kind of service among chain stores. I'm a long time customer of Del Taco. Today, I ordered a green burrito with double extra cheese that I paid extra for. I even heard the cashier, through the drive-through, clarify that my order included double extra cheese. Yet after driving away to enjoy my burrito, the person seemed to purposefully, or out of neglect, put the normal small amount of cheese. Very disappointing that this store operates this way. I'd be hard-pressed to be coming back. To the manager/owner, train your employees to be generous and make food as if they're preparing for family; and when someone pays for something extra, then they should receive extra. read more

This has been my local del taco for nearly 25 years (aka since it opened) -- honestly no serious complaints other than if it's a rush hour (lunch/dinner) you're gonna wait. Just like every other fast food place these days it seems, which kinda defeats the purpose. Staff is friendly and generous with hot sauce. Tortillas were fresh and consistency was soft along with the refried beans (more like congealed bean soup) layered with crisp lettuce, Colby jack cheese and salsa. Oof. I feel like a monster writing this review but honestly I feel like with fast food there are simple rules that we all expect. Especially when going through the drive thru. 1. Friendly and quick acknowledgement from staff 2. Speedy service (my food shouldn't take 20 mins) 3. The right food. I got none of these. And quite honestly had I just gotten the right food I wouldn't even be here writing this. But I didn't even get the right sauces! It was like the cherry on top of everything. I took one bite out of the wrong taco with the wrong sauce and I'm just disappointed. I don't expect much really. But the correct food would be great. Especially when one hasn't eaten all day. On top of that all the staff I saw through the window looked like they were just fired but forced to finish their shift. So...there's that. However, I came through this drive thru a month or so back and I did have friendly service and the right food. I just think they had an off day. Everyone gets one. We had a pleasant experience with two of your employees. My wife and I purchased meals yesterday and when we got home the large Sprite my wife ordered had no syrup and tasted like carbonated water. Because the food and service is always good here we returned today for another round. I let the employee, Christian, know about the Sprite issue we had the day before. Without question he and Jeremiah (employee) made it right by giving us a proper large Sprite for our previous trouble. Hit the spot!!! Came in 7:45pm the entire inside menu is down looks like a manager and assistant manager are redoing the menu. Not just a section the entire menu is down. Staff says go outside and look at the drive through menu. May I add the reason I needed a menu was for my 9 year old kid. We oblige walk out to the drive through (which is a liability to del taco since they directed us to do so) and come back inside. Stand for almost 12 minutes as they proceed to take and finish 3 drive through orders. Meanwhile neither manger doing the sign helped. They did talk back to the kitchen staff in Spanish and laughed about something. We still got no help. We walked out with not a single staff member acknowledging that we were there. I am a fan of Del Taco, especially the locations that are open 24 hours like this Del Taco in Fullerton. I'm from the East Coast and there are no Del Taco locations out there, but plenty of Bells. I prefer Del Taco over Taco Bell anyday since it's something different including burgers, fries, crispy fish tacos, and churros on the very Americanized Mexican fast food menu. The combos with fries and drink are priced right! The #12 Combo ($5.19) Spicy Chicken Burrito & Chicken Soft Taco, small fries, and small drink is my favorite, as well as the Deluxe Chili Cheddar Fries. For my breakfast, I enjoy the Del Breakfast Bowl ($2.99) which has scrambled eggs, hash brown sticks, chili, jalepeno bacon, sour cream, cheese, and cilantro and I add some Del Scorcho and Del Inferno sauce packets to the mix for some kick. Recently, I had the #5 Combo Fish Tacos (deep fried) here which were decent to me, and with Rubio's in the area, I'll get my fish taco fix there. The Churro ($0.99) is a nice sweet ending to my cheap fast Del Taco meal and big late night snack. I would've given Del Taco 5 stars since I love the menu and enjoy the food, but I do get nervous when I'm watching the staff make the food without wearing any gloves. How they got an A is my question? Other locations including the "A" rated Baldwin Park location do not use gloves either. The chicken soft tacos are more like cat food, small flakes of chicken instead of chunks. But I've had to stop at this particular Del Taco a couple of times on my way to class in the evenings.... they are VERY pleasant! Such a nice group of employees. So, actually shouting out a holla to an individual location isn't such a stupid thing afterall really. This one deserves some Yelp cred. I've only gone through the drive-thru because I am "on the run" but it looks great, they are fast and have always been very accurate and I've received the correct order every time (and I mix it up on them occassionally).
