Holy Sh@!$ this place is legit! I knew once I walked in and saw the trompos full and spinning, my heart just knew this spot was going to be so good, and man was I right! Everything from the quality of the meat, to the fresh corn tortillas, warm crisp tortilla chips, fresh guacamole and salsas! You need to come here. The carne asada was so flavorful and rich. I went with the nacho cheese on my fries based on other Yelp reviews and I'd say it was the right choice. The tortilla is also S tier. They're the perfect thickness and the tacos are the perfect size. The red and green salsas were both good. They have a self serve salsa bar with pickled onions and some lime as well. I think a little more onion and cilantro on the fries and tacos would've been great, but now we know to ask next time. Would recommend bringing cash to save some extra cents per item! The tacos here are really tasty and worth the higher price tag. These are probably the best in the area. The place is usually clean and they always have good music playing and a small but good salsa bar. Service has gone both well and bad for me before. Depends on people's mood and how packed it is. A friend recommended to try this for lunch. The place wasn't fancy packed when we got in line to order. In the kitchen I saw two tower of meat being grilled (al pastor and top sirloin). The staff busy prepping the food as the customers waited for their order. We had to scour for a table to eat. The lunch rush did mean we had to do some self service in cleaning the tables. They have a great variety of meats and drinks. It is a hit and miss for me. Some days it's delicious and other days it's not seasoned right. I frankly do not like the tortillas. It overpowers the meat flavors. I tried their agua de piña and it had a lot of the pineapples thorns in it. Not very pleasant to drink it having to spit them out with every sip. Don Goyo is my new favorite taco joint! I love their handmade corn tortillas, they're thick enough so you only get one per taco. They're one of the best I've tried, and it's what really elevates their tacos for me. I also think very highly of their pastor. I usually don't like pastor at most places because they tend to be on the sweeter side. But here, it's well balanced and not sweet. I also appreciate the top sirloin option. You can see both the sirloin and pastor on the spit here and can taste the fire. They load up your tacos with generous amount of meat as well. The self-serve salsa bar offers three different salsas: red, green, and habanero. The habanero was the best and really enhanced the flavor of the meats. Refrigerated soft drinks and aguas frescas are available for purchase. No booze here. There is also refreshing, ice-cold cucumber water on the counter, which is complimentary. It's a smaller taco shop with older, uncomfortable, sticky tables, so we ate quickly and left. The music was so loud that I could barely hear the cashier. Tons of the flavor coming from the sour cream and guacamole. If you order their chips, they also fry them fresh and hot. Pretty low key spot tucked in a small plaza. This is our favorite place to get burritos and carne asada fries from. They put things together once you order. They can modify and make things for your preference. There's plenty of meat options but they do offer vegetarian. Side of onions and jalapeños is a must. Prices are affordable and portions are massive. We bought several tacos and the potato thing from Brea Tacos Don Goyo Friday night. I ate two tacos 1 carneasada, and 1 al pastor taco, added the green hot sauce. They tasted good. But, within a few hours after eating I got severly ill. Super bad stomach cramping, nausea, all muscles super weak. I was bent over holding my stomach, and very weak for 4 1/2 days. All through Mother's Day during visits with kids and my baby grandkids. Finally better today-Wed May 13th 2026. I usually never text bad reviews but I felt this is pretty legit. Maybe need to wash lettuce better or something, I don't know. For many years we've gone through a drive through in La Habra to buy tacos somewhat like these and never got sick. The flavor/quality of the beef was really, really good. I wasn't a fan of the pollo-size/quality of meat seemed fine but I like a bit of marinade. Didn't seem to have as much flavor as the beef. Also ordered a side of chips which were a bit greasy but yum! I should also mention the green salsa which I normally love had a chipotle type smokiness (I prefer straight chunky green but again, all about preferences).
