I usually don't hold high expectations for fast food, as you know it can be outstanding one visit and garbage the next. :( But, desperate times call for desperate measures. So, here we go! It was hard (annoying) to place my order as their speaker wasn't working. The employee made a joke and told me something like, "I am having trouble hearing you because the speaker is older", or something like that. I did appreciate him making light of annoyance. He asked me to come up and I could order really quick via the window. He problem solved and I liked it! I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a chicken wrap thing from the "Dollar Menu" - I think? In reading other Yelpers reviews I should have tried their fish tacos. :) Next time for sure. It was an OK visit for quick food that I needed for a long drive. I ordered 12 chicken tacos with no lettuce for the neighbor kids. All 12 had lettuce. Called to complain and they never answered the phone. Took 18 calls for someone to finally answer. She gave me her name "jasmine" and said to come in and they will make it right. My wife went in and they refused her!!! Called again and after another 20 calls, manager said he would call his manager and call me back. I placed an order on the app yesterday and selected pickup from the app. When we arrived and walked inside the door we were told by an employee holding the door open to the kitchen and eating something, "the dining area was closed due to a thanksgiving party and to use the drive through". First time in this location and the menu is simple to read and very clear. The lobby is spotless and there is chatter amongst the workers and they all seem to get along well with one another. I ordered and my carne asada quasodillas tacos whatever they are actually called are fantastic and full of flavor. I can't believe I ordered a bean and cheese green sauce burrito on the side because these tacos were enough. The burrito was so good and the cheese was melted perfectly. Sometimes TB gets out ranked and DT (Del Taco) fulfills that late night craving. I would say these 2 chains are like Coca-Cola vs. Pepsi and they each have their own side of followers saying which one they feel is better. Personally I'm about 50/50 depending on the day, but what I love specifically about Del Taco is their large variety and the fact that you can get a cheeseburger, yes I said a CHEESEBURGER at this fast food 'Mexican' chain restaurant and it's actually pretty good! I also love getting their crinkle cut fries with their grilled chicken soft tacos and/or their street tacos with hot sauce. Del Taco has even branched out to accommodate those non-meat eaters and they now offer Beyond Meat for their tacos & burritos. Another thing I love about Del Taco is how fresh their tacos taste and I truly attribute that to the freshly hand-grated cheese that truly makes a huge difference! Employees never greet you at drive-thru, barely acknowledge you at drive thru window...and always forget to give me napkins, straws, hot sauce that I've asked for, not even a receipt, for God's sake. Am actually a fan of their burgers. I eat beef very rarely, and this isn't the highest quality beef around, but the combination of flavors in their cheeseburgers works for my taste buds. From the sesame seed bun to the Thousand Island-type sauce, it all comes together as a quick meal. I ask for grilled onions and they make it happen. I worked at Del Taco when I was 16 it isn't a hard concept. Lay down the tortilla put in the ingredients and roll it up. Put rolled up burrito in bag. If the burrito was ordered without sauce don't put in sauce. If they ordered 6 items make sure there are 6 items in the bag. Every time I go here there is an issue. I walked about 2.7 miles each way to this place yesterday and man, was it worth it. Since there are no Del's in Kentucky, I decided to venture and see what a burrito from this place would taste like. It has been YEARS since I had been to this place and I think my first time was a location in Simi Valley. When I arrived there, the service was very prompt; although, there was like one or two people there. I had a coupon for a BOGO bean and cheese burrito (my favorite kind of burrito) and the total was $1.17! How awesome! You can get the burrito with either white or red sauce and I decided to get each sauce on each. They pretty much tasted the same and my only complaint would be that the burritos should have a tad more cheese for that saltier taste.
