Taco Salad With Fresh Guac Grilled Chicken. Not shown plated, I had already started eating when the Yelp angel whispered to me

I'm a regular here, more or less. Del Taco is dear to my heart as I've been enjoying their burritos since I was in grade school. The food at this location is always up to snuff and they have never got my order wrong, the staff is always attentive and on top of things. Thanks!

The tacos were excellent, the only reason on why I don't give them a 5 starts is because of the price. I understand is California, but it was a taco Tuesday and it still came out expensive. Other than that, the tacos were extremely good and their sauces (specially the pineapple one) were delicious. It may be worth it to pay a little extra for the quality. Service was quick. The only difference with the ambiance is that it doesn't feel as your traditional Mexican place, but that did not affect the food.

My order clearly shows a purchased drink!

Worst experience ever. Counter child was not able to read online orders effectively. Though I was getting an attitude for requesting my cup to fill up my own soda. This kid should not be allowed to help customers directly with HIS attitude problem!

Three stars based on low expectations Pros - 24 Hour Drive Through - Bargain $2 menu - Fries sold, krinkle cut - Clean, never busy - Professional employees - Combos are cheaper and generally healthier than at other fast food places - Close off the 405S Cons - Ok for what it is - "Crispy" might mean deep fried protein not the shell Convenient for Hampton Inn guests next door. Their shakes sound good and I should try the newish Beef Birria Ramen.

I ask the guy at the window for a solid handful of hot sauce and he gave me the perfect amount *slow clap*

He gave me the perfect amount of hot sauce when I asked for a solid handful. give that man a raise

This big corporate taco restaurant is better than it's competition. The cashier was super patient with my annoying friend who has to ask the dumbest questions about what to order. I ordered the secret menu Stoner burrito but vegetarian this time around and fries too. The food is always good especially for the price.

Supposed to be Del Tacos birria quesadilla. It's one big lump from being dipped in the sauce by the employees.

DelTaco.com says this location closes at midnight. Yelp says 24 hours. We need a tiebreaker... when does it close?

As of 11/28/21 This site closes their dining room at 9:00pm and the Drive-Thru at midnight. This is from an employee at the store.

The hostess was so accommodating as we were undecided where to sit. Once seated our server, Steven, was attentive, as were all of the staff members. Fresh complimentary chips and salsa arrived quickly. I had the two item combination with a crunchy beef taco, and a chili relleno, all beans, no rice. My friend got the crunchy chicken taco and a chicken tamale with rice and beans. And a cup of albondigas soup. The beans were delicious, definitely made in house (always a good indicator of home made refried beans is the flavor and consistency). The crunchy taco was perfect with plenty of shredded beef, there was so much food I took home the chili rellano and half the beans. The restaurant is an acquaint, clean,, beautiful spot on Main Street. With both inside and outside seating. Being so close to Long Beach I forgotten about Avila's. I will definitely have to ride my bike over more often to grab a bite. Don't forget to ask for a side of the tomatillo sauce to dip your corn chips in, it's a change of pace from salsa (add'l charge, but worth it). So good!!!

I ordered the Shrimp Enchiladas ($24) which was supposed to come with sour cream. When it was brought out, no sour cream. So I ordered sour cream - an additional $2. Also when we got the bill, I was charged for a Two Item Combo ($28) instead of the Enchiladas. But did not notice until just now as I'm writing this review. Annoying. My husband ordered the Chile Colorado plate ($23) which had steak that was not tender. I think we'll stick to SuperMex.

If you want big portions, legit authentic food, and prices that won't personally offend you--this is your spot. The pork shank? Fall-off-the-bone, no-effort-required kind of delicious. The tacos are (I do wish they had à la carte instead of plates, but honestly their rice and refried beans slap so I'll allow it). The ceviche is basically an entrée disguised as an appetizer, and the chicken arroz soup hits every time. They bring out chips and salsa immediately (as they should), service is quick, and there's plenty of parking--which already puts them ahead of half the restaurants in SoCal.

In addition to all those basic menu items they have some stellar creations. I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

The food itself was actually decent and flavorful, so I'll give credit where it's due. However, the service was extremely disappointing. The employee who took our order had a very negative and dismissive attitude toward us from the start. It made the entire interaction uncomfortable and honestly took away from what could have been a good dining experience. I'm not sure what the reason for the attitude was, but as a Black couple we couldn't help but feel unwelcome based on how we were treated. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and no one should feel uncomfortable when spending their money at a business. Because of the way we were treated, we won't be returning. Hopefully management takes feedback like this seriously and works on improving the customer service experience for everyone.

When I took the first bite I realized that the beans were very bland and tasted a bit weird! The flour tortilla was good and so was the cheddar cheese but the beans I didn't like them. My husband bought 2 other burritos a shredded meat burrito and a red beef burrito. The shredded meat burrito was good, just the right amount of seasoning but the red beef burrito was too salty for us. The price of the burritos were $18 bucks each, pretty pricey for burritos. My husband said he's not going back to this place and I totally agree! His experience with the staff was not nice either. So I decided to give this place a low score for their unfriendly attitude, bland refried and salty red beef and for being pricey!
