Was seeing a friend of mine in Simi Valley and I needed a sugar rush and some tacos. Since this place is right off the 118 freeway at First street, it's super convenient. Yep, it's another one of my Del Taco reviews. I got me a #6 with a cheery coke, dining in (cuz like Joe Pecchi says, "They always fuck you in the drive through!"). This is a newer restaurant with nice flagstone exterior and decent landscaping. The only real quirky thing with this location is the entrance and exit is only a single driveway and if you're parking in the lot and there's a line in the drive thru, space can get a little scarce. Not a pleasant customer service experience - after ordering food in the drive through I decided I wanted some ranch dressing and pulled into the parking lot to go inside. Upon asking for the ranch I was told that they charge 40 cents, and while I think this is ridiculous I really wanted the ranch so I agreed. When the gentleman started to bring the ranch it was just a very small container that they squirted the ranch into and this made me decide it simply wasn't worth it, not because I'm cheap but more out of principle. I asked for my money back and the girl behind the counter gave me such an attitude and basically threw the money in my hand. Friday night I was super hungry, decided to stop at del taco for a quick bite. Turns out whatever they had going on there wasn't the cleanliness or proper food handling. I got terribly sick. Not a pretty site. 3 days later still feeling sick. Went to doctors and found I have a bacterial infection from the meat that was served. I'll never ever be eating del taco ever again in my life. This review does not even deserve one star. This goes out to several restaurants here in Simi Valley where I deliver food to help keep those restaurants open and deliver to their customers. Their customers!!. It has been very hot outside and drinking water is very important well on these deliveries to stay hydrated. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this. To construction workers ordered their food in front of me while I was picking up a delivery. I had to use the restroom terribly bad. There was a sign on the door as I walked in saying restrooms for customer use only. The construction workers order their food and then asked do use the restroom so they can wash their hands because they were filthy and didn't want to touch their food with filthy hands. They said no. Pointed out to the sign on the front door and they ignored me and then started to laugh like it was funny. Meanwhile I am about to go to the bathroom on myself. They refused to let me so I went anyway in order to save myself from huge embarrassment. When I came out of the bathroom to get my delivery I got confronted by the manager asking me if I use his bathroom and that they don't want us using it because every time we use that they have to clean it. He raised his voice at me and everybody in the restaurant could hear and it was humiliating. This is absolutely unacceptable I will never ever step foot in that del taco ever again. Normally we are pleased with our meals here but today was a flop. Ordered 2 Epic bacon scramblers at the drive thru. Got home and was very disappointed. They were half the size as there were no potatoes or pico de gallo in them. Just bacon pieces, scrambled eggs and shredded cheese. Tried calling the location using the online listed phone number and it just rang and rang. No one ever answered. Never have I been disappointed with customer service at this place, but this morning (3:30am) at the drive thru I started ordering and in the middle of me talking he literally raised his voice with attitude behind it and says "HUH, JUST LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU'RE READY!". As I replied I have been ordering he loudly repeats my order and tells me to hold on. I pull up to the window, the older employee/manager ( i couldn't tell because he was wearing a beanie and a big jacket) and just get straight attitude from him and stills expected me to order food. OKAY OKAY before you all go and give me a hard time about this, give me a chance to explain myself! Yes, many of the stories over the years about Del Taco have been frightening and disgusting...but OH MY GOD there is nothing like stopping off for this junk when your drunk. I've only been to Del Taco 3 times in my entire life. The first time being once in this past December with my co-workers who were shocked I'd never eaten there before (yes the kind of people I work with are the ones who care more about my eating at Del Taco then let's say...global warming or curing AIDS). And two times since at this location. This Del Taco is at an exit we use often in Simi and so it's sitting there staring us in the face every time we enter or exit. It's a new location, shiny and bright, a beacon of junk food heaven for a drunky drunk at 3am (In-n-Out certainly ain't open anymore) So I announce to my dear sober boyfriend, "WHOOOAAA NELLY head on over to the drive-thru matey!" I usually get fries and the a chicken burrito of some sort, and although I rarely finish my burrito a few bites are all I need to satisfy my terrible cravings, you can sure as heck bet I'll scarf down the french fries in a matter of seconds. No I wouldn't recommend eating at Del Taco ever, but damnit, it's a 24 hour drive-thru you can count on. read more

Not the worst place I've ever been to, but Certainly not the best. I don't really care much for del taco in general, but my husband had a hankering. we went through the drive through, but from the window the place looked clean. The employees were very nice and checked our order when giving us the food, so that was nice. The food, however, was just so bad. Some of my chips tasted days old and others like paper. They were so greasy and under cooked that you could fold them in half without them breaking. There was also some type of pencil looking mark on one of them. I got the cheeseburger which was fine considering it is a Mexican restaurant. My husbands bean and cheese burrito had old dried beans stuck to the outside of the burrito. Very unappetizing, and we ended up tossing most of our lunch. Unsatisfying and not worth trying to save a few bucks. read more

These stoners can't get a order correct to save there lives. This is the last time I'll be going here. I always seem to have issues when I order over nights. I highly recommend not going to this place if you want what you pay for. How hard is it to take a order and fill it properly. They don't even read your order back to make sure they got it correct. Wow. At night the guy working this Del Taco ruins this Del Taco. During the day this location is the best in town, fast and friendly service. But once the sun sets and the infamous "rude guy" takes over this place becomes the worst establishment I've ever been to. Avoid at night at all costs, it takes half an hour to get to the window whether there's 4 cars or 2. To add insult to injury, the man is incredibly rude. I use to work night so would always drive through pretty late. Ive been coming to this Del for over 4 years. In the last 6 months my trip around 1am has been one of the worst. There is a middle age man. Who rite away is rude over the speaker non polite what soever. I have gone out of my way to try and be nice and he shows no customer service skills. Its ashamed cause I see others on this app obviously have had the same bad experiences as myself. Someone from corporate should really check this guy. The guy at the window rang in my order wrong even though I said it 3 times, charged me the wrong amount, didn't give me a receipt, and the "manager" was extremely rude when I asked for my order to be fixed. It was a Friday afternoon. I had left work, and trekked over to the other side of Simi Valley to visit the comic shop. After pulling my file, I realized I had some time to kill before my next scheduled event. I realized that I could finally complete my dream of visiting every single Del Taco in the city of Simi Valley. Small dreams tend to get fulfilled far easier than the big ones. I put my comics in my trunk, and I drove over. Even though the parking lot was nearly empty, it was still quite cramped. Tiny tiny spots, and the drive through lane goes right down the middle of the parking lot. Thankfully, doubleparker wasn't there at the moment. I found a bank of spots that were empty, and parked my car in the middle of three vacant openings. I then walked over to the front doors and entered the 'House' Del Taco. The place was fairly empty. A businessman was doing some paperwork while eating a burrito, and a younger man was talking on the phone, completing the survey on the back of a receipt in hopes of getting a free food item. I was quickly greeted and questioned about my food desires. I know the Del Taco menu. But for some reason, I always look up and wonder what I want when I hear that question. I looked deep inside, and I asked my innermost fiber and being what it really wanted, to which it replied 'I think I'd like some Nachos." So I ordered the Macho Nachos with chicken. I've had them before at other Del Taco's, and they're usually quite tasty. Brooke nodded, and rang up my order on the cash register. The total came up to just under five dollars. With a swipe of my debit card, I was away with a register and a number. I meandered around a bit, waiting for the number to be announced. Figuring the place was empty, and my food would be out momentarily. Momentarily later, my number was announced, and a tray of Nachos was placed on the counter. I picked it up, and took it outside to their small outside patio to enjoy. On the way out in picked up some napkins and a fork, as I have learned the inner chips are quite covered in 'stuff' and not easily removed if one wishes to keep their hands relatively clean. I sat down outside in the evening air, and ate my nachos, and they were as good as I have come to expect from Del Taco. After completing, I threw the trash away, and returned to my car. Backing out I nearly crashed into somebody going through the drive through lane. So, in conclusion, this Del Taco is pretty much as good as any other Del Taco. The food is good, the people are nice and helpful. But, the parking lot is an absolute horrid nightmare. Even on a Friday afternoon, with practically nobody there I nearly got into an accident. I'm glad I've completed the set, but I will never, ever, ever return to this location during the busier lunch hours. read more

I went tonight around 12:45 & they messed up my whole order. The guy who took my order even read back my order before I pulled up to the window & everything was correct. Food ain't bad but today I went in and got a drink. There was hair on the drink machine. Out of the coke and diet coke spouts. Came here, against my better judgment, and as in the past, the order was completely wrong. Ordered 4 fish tacos, fish only - no sauce, and there is sauce all over the fish. We waited forever to get the food too. I should have checked it before we left the drive-thru line, but the wait was so long that there were a ton of cars behind us and I didn't want to hold them up any more than I had to. The drive through is fast. The chicken tacos are sitdown restaurant worthy. The chicken chipotle ranch ultimate burrito, or whatever its called, is tasty. The service is accurate, I've not had an order that did not err in my favor (got a free taco one time or another!). Everyone smiles, and the restaurant is clean. 1098 Enchanted Way Del Taco used to be my go toooooo for food either leaving or coming into Simi Valley. In the last three months I have been shorted three times. Today was the last time. LINE WAS VERY SLOW. When it came my time I paid the young lady and asked..."do I have everything?"...With a strange look she said yes....I left....Drove home to find again one sandwich short. MINE. Come here all the time for breakfast. The service is good. It could be a little better. They need another person working in the morning to help out. The cook works really hard to keep up. The staff is always very friendly. The service is far superior to the other fast food Taco place. Don't use the drive thru. If possible, don't come here at all. This location has messed up my order the past 3 times. It's always in ways that I can't discover until I get home and take apart the food. Years ago this location was consistent and good. Lately, I have no reason to go back. This is the first bad review I've written on Yelp. In general, I don't expect much from fast food. I mostly just want what I ordered. Once, in the past few months, the fries were over-salted to the point that I had to throw them out. Another time recently, they charged me for bacon on a burger and didn't give it to me. This last time, they gave me a completely different burrito than I had ordered. The one they gave me was less expensive than what I paid for. These are all problems I couldn't notice until I started eating. What's the point of the drive thru if I have to dismantle the food before I leave to make sure it's right? I can check if a burrito or burger is in the bag, but do I have to unwrap and inspect the damn thing before leaving? Fast food is obviously bad for you. They got my order wrong and up charged me. I called an no answer. I ordered 4 breakfast burritos egg and cheese with no red sauce and 4 (5 piece hash browns) that I wanted inside each burrito. And I only got 3 in each burrito. I love Del Taco but this was was not the best experience product and service wise. ;'( I love break fast burritos and woke up early to pick up before work.
