When this location opened they were awesome. I can't stand Taco Bell so I was elated when I saw their sign go up. Even before Covid hit, the quality and accuracy of orders went down. I love the crunchtada and would always get it with avocado, I guess they stopped using it and now only use guacamole (didn't find out until after ordered) Took a break from them durning middle of Covid. it was getting sad at that point. Went back recently and just as bad, long wait times, food made incorrect, wrapping will have food on the outside of them. I really hope they are able to get some more workers because I love Del Taco's! read more

We stop here every time on the way back from concerts. They are open late, on top of stuff... always get our giant orders right. It's fresh tasting, love the chicken soft tacos. This location has very personable, super friendly employees. We went back through the line one night, and they asked what they forgot, but the order was perfect. We just needed napkins. read more

This Del Taco location is in serious need of training. I have ordered the Chicken Bacon Avocado Salad the last 3 times and they have forgotten the dressing each and every time. I have talked to their management the last 2 times and I made them correct the order and remake it. This time I received no dressing and the salad was shredded lettuce that is used for tacos. I will not be giving my money to Del Taco any longer and I will be contacting their corporate offices to let them know that this store has a serious training issue so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Just ordered 10 regular tacos and there weren't any tomatoes & very little lettuce but an enormous amount of cheese...I'm talking the whole shell was packed with cheese to the point of gagging you if you didn't remove it. Super good! Grilled chicken burrito was bomb! And the tacos are actually worth what you pay for, rather than Taco Bell's scrawny little ones lol. A bit more expensive than what we're used to around here considering we can only compare it to Taco Bell... but in my opinion its way better and much cleaner. We really need one of these locations in the Columbus, Ohio area! Once you eat at a Del Taco, you will see Taco Bell as the disappointment it truly is. Fresh Mexican food along with burgers and fries. The side items and desserts are a great compliment to the fresh entree items. So my problem with this place is the sheer lack of speed in a "fast food" place. On a regular basis (I've been there about a dozen times since they opened a few months ago and it doesn't matter what day of the week), it takes me anywhere between 15-30 minutes to get my food. I don't know if it's a staffing issue or if it's a bad training issue or a lack-of-urgency issue, but I'm starting to find myself going here less and less because (if you factor in the time it takes to eat), I don't always have an hour to kill for a meal. The food (when it does come) is wonderful and I ain't never had a Del Taco meal I didn't like, but the time it takes is absolutely ridiculous. There's a Sonic within walking distance and also a Mod Pizza. Next time I need fast food, I don't think this is where I'll be going. Please change! :) read more

This is fast food so I'm not sure why I'm expecting better service. I like the food which is why there are two stars instead of one. I can't understand why this location is so slow. I was there yesterday, 3/1/20. There was one car in front of me and it took over 10 minutes to get my food from the drive thru. The quesadilla was cold and the burrito tasted like cigarettes. This restaurant franchise mimics the authentic Mexican restaurants taco , burritos , etc... ( also sell hamburgers and fries). The service is speedy and excellent . This place is for the person that wants the semi authentic Mexican food in a fast food environment. It is a direct competitor to Taco Bell with a completely different taste. Those that like Taco Bell may not like the Del Taco taste. It gives you a change by allowing you to switch from time to time between the two. BOGO on a fantastic Authentic Taco platter each comes with traditional street style Tacos one each Pollo and Carne Asada that be Chicken and Steak for you Gringos. My first visit to a Del Taco made me not want to return. As this one just opened by me I thought I would give it a second chance. The shredded beef burritos were very good. So I love Del Taco when I can get the food but I have a American Express card. Well they say they accept them and the also have the little sticker on the drive thru window. They also say on the internet that they accept them. Well when I went there and I was super hungry and knowing I did my research thinking they accept AMEX. Well I get to the window and let me remind you I see the little sticker I hand them my card and they say sorry we dont accept AMEX. So i was pretty angry and drive off after telling them they need to take the sticker down. I really like the food at Del Taco (hence the 2 stars),but the service at this location (Southgate) is horrific! I had to sit in the drive thru with my car in park, because I was told that my "food will be out when it's ready" and she just turned around and walked away. I ended up waiting probably my 10-15 minutes. The cashier had an attitude as soon as I placed my order. This chick doesn't know me, so she's got no reason to be rude to me. My husband had asked for a water cup and MZ Julie (cashier) gave him a small cup, he had asked for a larger cup and she said "what do you expect when you get something free that's the size you get" he told her fine I'll buy a medium drink a bit annoyed. I was getting ready to order and she looked at him and said "what is your problem dude" and he said "I don't have an issue I just told you I'd buy a medium cup" her reply was "well you asked for a fucking medium cup and have a problem"and continues to cuss at us and finally says to us "well I'm not taking your order now" and walks away, another coworker or manager defused the situation in a professional manner (thankfully). we were confused and frustrated. I decided to stop at Del Taco for a change since I was at the Meijer ther. I ordered two beef burritios to go. The sign said 2 for 6 but I paid 8.00 for the two. I got them home and the first bite was just totilla. The second and subsequent bites tasted like very cheap greasy meat with no other taste. I will not be back. Went in today to eat however I was never able to place my order. The women at the register never looked up or greeted us. I figured she may have been counting the drawer or something. There were three employees and not one person acknowledge us. After 2 minutes I looked at my friend and was like you have to be kidding me. The cashier then went and started making her own food. The women in drive thru was on her cell phone doing whatever she was and one person was mopping. I have been to this location multiple times and its never been amazing service but it has also never been this bad. We walked out after about 5 minutes and went a few doors down to mod pizza. Today, 11/16/19, I went to get some food around 11:30 pm, since, you know, Del Taco in Southgate is open 24 hours in the drive thru. When we got to the intercom, no one was answering, so we went around. There were lights on in the kitchen area that you could see and cars in the parking lot, so we decided to go through again since other cars were getting in the line. When we went around a second time, each car waited about 5 minutes to see if someone would answer, but no one ever did. When we went to get out of line the second time, they turned the kitchen lights off and the cars were gone. The sign clearly says 24 hours, plus aren't you supposed to turn the drive thru sign off when you leave? You would think that would be the case, but apparently not. So there's probably going to be more people trying to get food and realizing that they are, in fact, actually closed. Sorry for ranting, but it's really annoying that we waited there for like 10-15 minutes just for them to turn the lights out and drive away. read more
