I had an annoying experience today. They asked me if I wanted to try a carnitas taco. I said no thank you. Then they asked me if I wanted to try something else that I couldn't understand. I just saw two cars leave this drive thru behind me....due to the wait to order. This is common. It takes a huge amount of time to order as the employees are making everything while stalling you. They must have been told that, when the customer gets to the window to pay, they have a very short period of time for payment and delivery of food. When we went in, the manager, Joe asked us how we liked everything and we told him our honest opinion, which wasn't anything awful anyway. We decided to go back there the next night and he was also there. He made sure that everything was prepared as we had suggested. I don't know why I bother going to this location, it's been a let down every single time. I don't eat fast food often, and I end up here because it's the closest to me. The drive thru wait time is always extremely slow moving, I don't think I've ever waited so long. Before I even discuss the quality of food, a particular employee taking the order is flat out rude. Last night he exhibited no personality, no thank you, mumbled everything, and said "whatever" when I asked to give me an extra minute to get my order finished. After getting my food I discovered one item was missing. No receipt was given to me. I let it go. Tonight he does it again, one item is missing AGAIN, and no receipt. This happens frequently where part of my order is missing, years of mistakes. The food is always cold, and I heat it up when I get home, tacos are never consistently the same size. I would give a zero if possible. The average score is already low so that says something. I hit del taco on average 2 times a week. Maybe not always this location, but it's closest to my house. 2weeks ago I got a chicken quesadilla and found a long hair in it. I gave the benefit of the doubt as these things can happen. Tonight's experience was more. Due to corona virus restaurant dining rooms are closed. Any restaurant would be happy to have customers as there had been a drop of 75% in people eating out and many restaurants closing their doors. I have a take out order and return home to find no large fries and have to drive all the way back. Such a rude crew there. Like they are doing me a favor to give me my fries. The I think manager, seemed the eldest, or likely the owners son based on his cocky behavior was the rudest of all. I got the already mentioned heavy set guy with black rimmed glasses in the drive thru. All of the usual descriptions about this guy apply - no social skills, moves like he is walking along the bottom of a swimming pool, etc. On top of that, he is also a short change "artist." I use the word "artist" loosely. I knew something was up because of the way he awkwardly turned his body 90 degrees so that his back was to me (actually smashed himself back against the window) as he pocketed several bills (obvious from his arm movements) and carefully wrapped my change (substituting a one dollar bill for a higher bill), inside of a foot length receipt. When I called him out and asked for him to cut the crap and give me the rest of my change, he had the same expression my 3 year old nephew has when he gets caught trying to steal a cookie. The food was terrible, all of my food was cold. The chicken in my taco was cold, the quesadilla cheese wasn't even melted, and they were also cold. I started eating my fries 2 minutes after I left the establishment and they were already cold. They were over cooked, dry, and very old. I'm pretty sure the fries were from this morning. They seemed like they sat under that heat lamp for hours. If I wanted cold food I could have went to the Poké bar across the street. Also, they didn't even have ice. Used the drive thru last night. From the time I ordered to I got my food was 16 and a half minutes. I ordered 6 tacos and a small fry. When I pulled up to the window I was told the total was $15.07. I said that was not my order and was given a total of $12.45. I said I ordered 6 tacos and a small fry. Somehow the order was not in the system and they would rush it. $5.70 and over five minutes later I pulled away with my food and an excuse that I must not have placed an order This is not the first time this location has messed up my order. I went through the drive thru. My tacos had a very tiny bit of lettuce on all of them. It was actually pretty disappointing. I did enjoy my food though. One thing with all Del Tacos I find disappointing as well is the water cups. The water cups at all Del Tacos are in very tiny cups. I always have to ask for two. I will visit again though. I want to commend Del Taco for its practice of giving "senior discounts" to customers uniformly. There are some restaurants that sometimes do or don't, and it is up to the person on the register. Del Taco serves a substantial meal at an affordable price. The AARP should do a serious on uniform discounts in franchise restaurants. Del Taco ranks at the top. Sometimes that is the meal for the day with Social Security being so tight to budget meals. This is one franchise that puts its heart alongside its profit and loss sheet. Way to go!!! read more

this del taco, is absolutely dreadful. Me and my pals were here to get a quick bite to eat. We all ordered our food, and it took the mongs 20 god damn minutes to bring us fries. There was absolutely no one else there. The one cashier went on break, before serving me my bean and cheese burritos (which by the way, had a small piece of hair and was mediocre at best.) The back left bench was broken. The only good thing to come out of this, was my drink. Even then, some of the drinks just poured out water. I go to del taco all the time, I like their food.. but today I received the worst service ever at the Stevenson Ranch location. The boy was about 17 and slow and lazy. It took him 10 minutes to take the guy in front of me order. When I ordered he wasn't sure what kind of taco I wanted he wasn't familiar with the menu. When I got to the front he dropped my change on the ground, he asked if I wanted hot sauce and than he didn't put any in the bag of food. He didn't give me my change and he didn't give me a receipt either. I tried to call the manager but their phone was busy. It was a upsetting visit. The only reason why I'm giving this place one star is because that is the lowest possible score. Let me start by saying that I am a fan of Del Taco, I even liked this location until the end of last year. Service has gone from excellent to bad to horrible. The final straw was about 2 weeks ago when I made the mistake of stopping by for a quick snack. The drive-thru line was not moving so my husband I decided to go inside. I was shocked and pleased to find that there were no customers inside. I immediately placed my order only to find out that they had run out of taco meat. How does a taco place run out of taco meat? Go figure.....I decided to order something else when it hit me that maybe they had turkey which is what I prefer anyway. I ordered my tacos and a burrito and waited patiently. While we were waiting, an employee emerged from a door behind the counter and proceeded to take her hat off and place it on the counter where food belongs and then rubbed both hands in her hair. I stood in disbelief as she went to the other side, grabbed a pair of gloves and began handling the food. I notified the employee who took my order and told him that I did not want her touching my food based on what I just witnessed. He politely relayed the message to her and she responded saying, "I'm on my break". I told her that it didn't matter that she was on her break because she was handling food that was made for the public and once she touched her hair it didn't matter that she put gloves on because her hands were not clean and she shouldn't have touched the gloves with unclean hands. She continued to say that she was on her break. When the manager heard the exchange he asked what happened and I explained the situation. His response was, "Ok, I'll talk to her" and that is why I will NEVER buy anything from this Del Taco again. Shame on the manager for not insisting that she leave the kitchen immediately! read more
