With the strange world we live in these days it is nice to see small businesses still doing their best to serve the community. We grabbed 3 of the steaks to go and an order of fries. The sandwiches were pretty large in size and for the price they should be. Now I always get my cheese steak with wiz, just no other way really in my opinion. The wiz was not too much or not too little, was just right. Now the steak, it needed some seasoning as it was bland to me. Seems they did not use any salt or pepper or any seasoning at all on the meat. All in all it was a decent steak, just wished it had a bit more flavor. read more

Ordered cheesesteaks from here for lunch. Overall, very good cheesesteaks. The rolls were the best. Good firm rolls with good crunch. They did not fall apart from the grease of the cheesesteaks. I had mine with whiz which I didn't love. I think it might have been a little too much for me. I think next time I works just get regular cheese. The sandwiches are really big so we were able to split one so that's nice or you could save half for later We ordered French fries too which were enough for two people in my opinion. They were decent fries. I enjoyed them. The restaurant is on the pike so there's only parking in front but we didn't have too much trouble. Overall, very good. Game over. I'm at a loss for words. There is a new champion on my list. Delco finally has someplace local they can drive to instead of having to make the run to South Philly. This is Delco Steaks. I had the opportunity to try this place after I was one of the winners of a free steak last week. I won "The Delco", which is a 2 foot long cheesesteak. These pics are just half of the steak. To truly enjoy a cheesesteak you need to eat it while it is fresh, so I requested that they cut it in half and wrap them individually so I could eat one without making a huge mess in my Jeep. As soon as I picked up the bag I could tell that this was something special. I was overwhelmed with meat. There was so much in it that I could barely finish the half! They use PA prime black angus beef and south philly seeded rolls. They also put extra virgin olive oil on the roll, which was a great touch. I got mine with fried onions and half with american cheese / half with cooper sharp. They also offer provolone, mozzarella, and Wiz. The meat was tender and juicy. The seeded roll was perfect, especially with the olive oil on it. Lots of flavor in this sandwich and it will definitely be my go-to place when I'm not in Philly. This steak is most similar to what you would get at my all-time favorite spot "John's Roast Pork". I've been happily going there for years because it is the BEST in Philly and the owner John is an awesome person. If places like Dalessandro's where they chop up the steak really fine are your favorite, you might not like this place. I'm not a fan of the chopped up meat like they do. If you are a fan of Philip's, which I'm not a fan of, you might not like this either. If you want something stuffed full of mouth watering flavor... So much flavor in this sandwich. I'd go as far as saying it was probably the best burger I've ever had! The 4 ounce burger had lettuce, tomato, pickles, peppers and cheese. Another perfect burger. And look at those fries! Crinkle cut! Seasoned perfectly! I didn't get a chance to eat the burgers until I got home about 40 minutes later, and they were still amazing! This place is great! This could be the best cheesesteak in all the land. I am perplexed. I had guest eater Pat Murphy with me and we were eating our cheesesteaks under an overpass on 476 because there was a rainstorm and we couldn't go anywhere due to COVID-19. It was hard to focus but I do remember thinking that the mushrooms and the cheese were getting lost in the cheesesteak. I did get Cooper Sharp and expected a whole lot more taste from the cheese so it could just be high expectations. There will be more trips to Delco Steaks to really put this Cheesesteak to the test. I've been to all the big name places and this place makes a killer cheesesteak and in my opinion, one of the best in the city. Cooper sharp is the way to go. We ordered here again after some time of being unable to - every time we called they were closing early or closed, or out of rolls. We were excited for the opportunity to order again and ordered to have the food delivered. Huge mistake - I guess we needed to pick up in person to check to make sure the food was edible. The food delivered to us was not as ordered and completely inedible - we had to throw the entire order out. There was literally scraps of meat in the cheesesteaks and none of the additions as ordered were in the sandwiches, at most a pepper or an onion piece was thrown in. We attempted to eat it anyway, awful and therefore was thrown away. Really disappointing as they used to have good, quality food. This time felt completely robbed of our money for awful food and no one to answer for a refund. Will not return and will go back to pizza shop steaks. read more

I absolutely love this place, I really do, consistently good food. However, here lately service is definitely in the lacking department. Yesterday was the 4th time I have tried to place an order and just gave up due to no one picking up the phone or being placed on long holds. The worst of the 4 I was put on hold for 8 minutes where I was forced to listen to what I thought was the worst jingle I have ever heard over and over. Finally, someone answered and I was so thankful to finally be off hold that I exclaimed "Thank God" you took me off hold, I couldn't stand another minute of listening to that!" The hype is real - one of the best cheesesteaks I have had in my life. I love a thick and long cheesesteak so you don't have to bother with the ends and can get lots of the good middle part; Delco Steaks has a 2ft long steak which was so good. The fries were okay; they said they put a seasoning on it but they just tasted plain to me. We added our own Old Bay at home though which makes everything great. Asked if I could place a small tray for a football game that was hours later the morning of. Key word asked. They acted as if I was an idiot for even thinking to ask such a question. Instead I ordered 2 whole cheesesteaks and asked if they could cut it in small slices...said they don't have time for that. Comical. Picked it up anyways, ruder in person and asked if I wanted to add a tip - HA! Expected the cheesesteaks to be top tier based on the way they carried themselves and they were mid, nothing special, and plenty of other places around the area who have better, ESPECIALLY staff wise. The cheesesteaks are good - no argument. The service is horrific. More than once I've been handed the wrong bag when picking up our order - not that big a deal, I can just double check before getting back in my car. Then we've also ordered online (through Chow Now - recommended on their website) and arrived at the restaurant and it was closed (we called another location that told us Broomall sold out hours before and closed). No sign, no nothing, just lights off and a black bag/paper over the pick up window. We had to contact the restaurant, who told us to contact Chow Now for a refund. They then denied the refund as they said they contacted the restaurant and they were open on that date. We had to call the restaurant again and contact Chow Now again before we finally got the refund. Tonight we received the right bag (ie the receipt for our order was on it) but my steak (simply steak and cheese) was wrong. Like I said - if you actually get what you order the food is good, but it's genuinely not worth the continued hassle of their mess ups. read more

I was in the area and haven't tried this future icon. It's was all it was cracked up to be. Roll was seeded and excellent. The meat was as good as I've had in a while and more then abundant. They used real Wiz. Window service was very nice and it was done in just a minute. I got one large which was more then two pro ball players could eat. I'd been intrigued with this relatively new place a few blocks from my Delco favorite (Thunderbird.) Prime Angus and Carangi rolls were an impossible teaser. Unfortunately, since I'd learned about them, the weather was not conducive to eating on the hood of my car.. until today. So I parked a few blocks down and ordered a Cooper's sharp wit. I decided rather than fries, I'd taste a single patty cheeseburger. Verdict? Ingredients were top notch. Prep was 95% perfect, but frankly, both items needed a LITTLE seasoning. Simple salt and pepper would do it. Usually, for a lesser steak, I'll add Whiz, sauce, or in a pinch, ketchup. This was far too good for any of those remedies. Next time, I'll just ask for salt and pepper. But in terms of doing everything else right, these guys nail it. Fantastic! I was passing through town for business and saw the Yelp reviews. I can't get a decent steak at home. I was not disappointed. I had a large steak with fried onion, cherry peppers, and pickles with American. The staff was friendly and the order was completed quickly. I actually found this place while searching around on yelp, and was more than a little apprehensive as to what to expect, considering the prior two comments left before mine seem pretty awful. Fortunately, the cheesesteak I ordered was delicious. One of the best I've tried around here. I was skeptical of the seeded roll when I was deciding what to get, since they offer two different types, but it was super fresh and really good and glad I went with it instead of a traditional one. The cheese fries were good, standard fare. Nothing to write home about. However, instead of having the cheese directly on the fries, they give it to you separately in a little plastic container and I hate that. I don't know about you, but i'm not trying to dip my fries into cheese. I just want the cheese already slathered on. So, not really faulting them for it, per say, but rather just a personal preference. Lastly, the ONLY reason, I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 was because they charge you like .50 cents for fried onions. That's some nickel and dime stuff, that I'm no fan of, at all!!! That's easily a 1 star deduction and maybe even a 2 star deduction, I haven't decided, yet. I mean, the prices are a little on the high side to to begin with, so trying to shake a couple extra quarters out of me feels insulting. Never been to a neighborhood spot that charged you extra for fried onions before..like ever. Therefore instead of being able to give them 5 stars, I'm opting to give them 4 stars instead, it just rubs me the wrong way, However with that being said, the cheesesteak was still really good.
