Really disappointed with my experience ordering from Delco Steak tonight through Uber Eats. My order was a chicken cheesesteak with ranch, mayo, provolone cheese, and fries. It was originally supposed to arrive before 7 PM, but the first driver canceled, then I was reassigned another driver and kept waiting while I was actively communicating about the delivery.After all that waiting, the order was suddenly canceled because the store stopped accepting orders close to closing time. The money was already taken from my bank account, and I was left without food.I also tried contacting the restaurant directly by phone, but couldn't reach a real person just an automated system that only directed me back to online ordering through Uber Eats or other third-party apps, with no way to actually speak to someone.When I contacted Uber customer support, the representative (Stephanie) told me:"Stores will sometimes do this when they're too busy to give all orders high quality service. Rest assured the refund will reflect to your account within 3-5 business days." I also want to note that I wasn't even given an option for Uber Cash, account credit, or an expedited refund, even though I explained I had no food for the night and very limited money left in my account. I had no way to reorder or recover the situation in the moment.I understand businesses get busy, but there should be better communication. Customers shouldn't be charged, left waiting for hours, and then canceled on at the last minute with no notice or immediate resolution. Delco steaks is in the same building that used to house Charlie's Hamburgers. Nothing has changed parking wise, they still have a large parking lot with plenty of spaces. The interior of the building has changed as there is no more inside seating. Almost the entire interior area is now the kitchen. There is a small bathroom down the hallway from the takeout area. The staff was nice and busy at work. The menu is pretty simple, cheesesteaks, burgers, dogs, tenders and fries with a breakfast menu. They still serve milkshakes. I noticed a Bassett's ice cream container being scooped out for a milkshake. Good move guys! Order wise I had to try a cheesesteak - $14 and change for a 12" "classic Delco" size. The girl who took my order told me my cheese options were: Cooper Sharp, wiz, mozzarella or provolone. Cooper sharp it is! After several minutes my sandwich was ready and the only area for eating were some picnic tables behind the building in the "Delcoland" area. The Delcoland/backyard of this place is huge and houses a mini golf course. The size of the sandwich was pretty impressive. The roll held the meat in nicely and it was not overflowing, but packed just right. The lightly seeded rolls are from Carangi Baking in South Philly. The roll had a nice crispy crunch on the outside and thankfully the meat was not shedding tears of grease at all. There was a good portion of gooey melted Cooper sharp cheese mixed in with thick long slices of ribeye steak. I had asked for hot peppers and was happy to see some legit hot peppers not the milder banana yellows. All in all I think this was a solid cheesesteak although my only con was I found it to be a bit on the salty side. Definitely one of the better cheesesteaks I've had in the area, but not the top dog. At check out I felt pressured to tip for a 'pick-up'... the tip is framed as if a mandatory service charge when processing my card, but I and some customers find it awkward or unfair for pickup orders. To be more customer-friendly, they could make tipping more optional or limit prompts to in-person service for 'pick-up'. And my order was not complete as condiments were not included as asked for... and the steak sandwich was soggy because it was not wrapped in regular plain hoagie paper, if was a shiny, plastic-like treated paper that ruins a good fresh roll and the sandwich by concentrating moisture ! read more

Delco steaks is good not great. Too inconsistent very hit or miss. I'll put these guys as the 4th best cheesesteaks in Delco. Service is also inconsistent more errors than positive experiences. Quality of meat is excellent however 50/50 chance that they will screw up your order. Cheese fries are okay. Prices are expensive and I wouldn't mind if they would get the orders right. read more

This is a top notch spot for steaks. Seriously- from the seeded rolls, to the quality of the steaks- to the customer service- I have come here two Fridays in a row. Yes! A decent cheese steak place right around the corner from where I live. Not sure it's exactly good for my waist, but it's sure good for my taste buds. Cheese steaks - the sesame bread is definitely what gives it a step above other places. Meat - always stuffed to it's max and most times pretty flavorful. I've had it a few times where it was a bit dry, but they are pretty consistent where it's tender and flavorful. There are also times they definitely overdo it with the onions, but I just pick it out if there's way too much. Burger - if you're looking for a good burger, this is definitely the spot to get it. It was even good the day after heating up in the microwave. It's also a pretty nifty hangout spot as they have an outdoor seating area with mini golf.
